Scott Brown Ribs Santorum: Getting Secret Service Is the First Time That Hes Actually Ever Used Protection

YouTube

Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown took a few cracks at his fellow Republicans this weekend, singling out some of the GOP presidential candidates during a St. Patrick’s Day breakfast in Boston.

“I see that both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum now have Secret Service with them on the camp trail. And in Santorum’s case, I think it‘s the first time that he’s actually ever used protection,” Brown said, referring to the former Pennsylvania senator’s staunch opposition to birth control.

Brown, a staunch Mitt Romney backer, added: “Listen, you all know that Newt Gingrich wants to build a colony on the moon. Forget the moon, I think he should build it on whatever planet Ron Paul’s from.”

The annual event traditionally features politicians trying out their best one-liners and serves as a roast of sorts, according to Boston’s NECN.

      Wow, Scott Brown should really be careful and watch his mouth. We have enough establishment big government republicans thanks to McCain, Palin, Christie, and especially Romney. I still can’t believe so many people have the guts to call themselves conservatives and vote for Romney with his love of healthcare mandates and his liberal past, but unfortunately that has been the trend over the past decade and a half, Americans have been getting really really soft, playing devils advocate too much, considering crossing the fence for one issue while sacraficing the country’s values. We need our people to have guts again.

Ribbing Santorum is like ribbing the Pope when you’re Vinny Barbarino. The room goes silent, and then everyone pretends they don’t know you. Here is Rick Santorum’s anti-freedom, pro-tax comment.

    “This whole idea of personal autonomy, well I don’t think most conservatives hold that point of view. Some do. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. You know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can’t go it alone. That there is no such society that I am aware of, where we’ve had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a culture.”

    How can any true conservative support Rick Santorum after reading this comment???

      Because it’s true. Read the Federalist Papers. The founding fathers knew that some government was needed. Realizing this, they made the citizens the controlling entity. Sadly, We the People have neglected our responsibility in the past. The goal now is to take back Our responsibility and duty!

      Your comments are misleading because Rick always stresses his desire to get the federal government out of our lives and allow communities and families to decide what’s best for them. His reference to radical individualism refers to the fine line between libertarianism and anarchy.

      Be careful about making decisions based on a short video clip, media interpretation, or friend’s opinion. Do your own homework. Here‘s one of Rick’s speech that covers his view on all the issues. He speaks from his heart (not from a teleprompter) and speaks to me. He may not speak to you, and another candidate may resonate more with you. I know one thing for sure … any of our four candidates will be a 500% improvement over Obama, because we cannot survive four more years under communist rule.

      I encourage anyone who‘s never listened to an entire speech of Rick’s to watch this video. It might explain to you why he’s doing so well with so little money.

      I see so many from the Republican Party and the GOP throw this tag ‘Conservatism’ around fairly loosely. I remember when I first heard of Scott Brown, his promises, how he was going to be such a positive for Republican Conservatives. Doesn‘t anyone believe it’s possible that far left Democrats would have an agenda that’s been going on for many years to infiltrate the Republican Party with Progressives. We see it all the time in folks like Scott Brown who know how to talk the talk to get themselves elected. The Progressive/Socialist/Communist/Marxist movement did it with our Universities. Classic Saul Alinsky teaches to say and do whatever is necessary to get your way. The ends justify the means. So many bash Santorum because he has had some failings – and yet consider Washington, the corruption, the advisors who have put themselves into the GOP who are really far left – I am not making excuses, but I can imagine it becomes hard to distinguish what is right any longer. It also is extremely perplexing to see someone like Ron Paul running who truly wants to return us to our founding and the constitution – who has a consistent track record – who has lobbyist proclaim ‘That guy just can’t be bought‘ and yet so many so called ’Conservatives’ pile on him and call him an extreme nut. I‘d be curious what everyone’s definition of a conservative truly is. Draining the ‘Swamp’ of Government is proving to be quite an undertaking. We don’t need someone timid!

      Thanks for the information Baddoggy! But I’m sure like one of the posters to your notice – this is normal (haha) – Nothing to see here folks, just move along. No need to pay attention to Big Government mumbo jumbo like this – It’s really harmless, and besides, we wouldn‘t do anything through the Executive Branch under this administration that wasn’t legal? I‘m so tired of everyone telling me these things don’t matter or that I’m just exaggerating when I try to tell them about things going on all around us. Again, just imagine during the rise of other Dictators in the Worlds History. I bet those that tried to speak up then were told it was all harmless or they were just exaggerating.
      Remember the words of Pastor Martin Niemoller during the rise of Hitler:
      When the Nazis came for the communists,
      I remained silent;
      I was not a communist.

      When they locked up the social democrats,
      I remained silent;
      I was not a social democrat.

      When they came for the trade unionists,
      I did not speak out;
      I was not a trade unionist.

      When they came for the Jews,
      I remained silent;
      I wasn’t a Jew.

      When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

      If you see something sinister in this despite the demonstrable fact that every President has written a similar executive order, then you are a paranoid. You have been so programmed to hate and fear President Obama that any sentence containing his name is an excuse to spew your hatred and fear. If you heard that he had bacon and eggs for breakfast it would cause you to denounce him as a hypocrite and attack Mrs. Obama’s attempts to educate children about a healthy diet as authoritarian meddling in the private decisions of American families. If you heard that he had oatmeal and fruit you would fear that he saw himself as some kind of diet commissar with a duty to seize dictatorial control of the breakfast table and ban you from having bacon and eggs.

      That’s hilarious Chet! Read my post – I suppose you are one of those concerned citizens who are just going to call the rest of us paranoid huh? We are just out to get Obama and just hate him for some unknown reason huh? Do you really think you are getting anywhere any longer with this ridiculous reasoning. While the rest of us see exactly the path we are being led down, you are walking along side of us telling us how it’s going to be alright. It’s all going to be alright. I suppose next you will be telling us how we are racist because we are just against Obama for these unknown reasons? Or perhaps we are all just uninformed and you are here to enlighten us. If finally we just don’t get it and still persist to resist being led to Socialism and having America taken away bit by bit, then what do you think happens? Or better, do you think by trying to pacify the rest of us that when they come for you they will just play nice? Wake up my friend. Most of the folks I see posting here, like Baddoggy are well informed and know exactly what this type of Executive Order can mean when it is wielded by an Administration bent on destroying America.

    Why doesn’t he just join the Democrats if Brown has a problem with Santorum being in the party.

      Jakartaman – If anybody is an idiot, it’s RINOs like you. Santorum is far smarter than you could ever hope to be. Real conservatives don’t have a problem with Santorum.

      Jakartaman – No surprise that you’re bigoted against social conservatives. And Santorum has a much better shot of winning a lot of swing states that contain those social conservatives that you despise so much.

      santorum abandoned his principles throughout his career in the senate. perhaps the most egregious case was when he supported arlen specter over pat toomey. recall that specter was the deciding vote on obamacare. moreover, “the two men worked closely together for pennsylvania, something that santorum pointed out in his failed 2006 campaign”. indeed, santorum worked hard to bring “home earmarks with specter, a member of the appropriations committee”.

      it should be noted that santorum regrets working with specter. this is what he had to say about their relationship this morning on abc- “i certainly knew that arlen specter was going nowhere and i certainly disagreed with a lot of things that he said… it was something i look back and wish i hadn’t done”.

      you can find more about this on abcnews.com and politico.com…

    Brown is just another sack of dung Massachusetts RINO. It was fun to watch him piss of the democrats back when he was running for office. But, that was about all he was worth. He’ll probably switch and run as a democrat in his next election.
