While giving a talk to Georgetown University’s Labor Lab on April 30th, renown community organizer Stephen Learner boasted some peculiar parenting accomplishments, while bringing into question his version of the Jewish tradition of Bar Mitzvah.

Lerner began his speech by bragging about his disruption of Washington DC in the Justice for Janitors campaign of the 80‘s and 90’s:

“Do people know about when we shut down Washington, D.C.?  Does anybody know that story?  So we had this idea to get– that if we couldn’t picket the buildings anymore because of secondary boycott law, maybe we should just shut the city down.  So we parked school buses across the bridges into the city and set up classrooms to symbolize that pacts weren’t being paid, and the schools were in deterioration.”

He then announced a point of personal importance and pride over the protest:

“An important event in my life because my oldest son got arrested for his first time.  And it was very big event, [we're] joking now that the leftist bar mitzvah is when your son gets arrested for the first time.  And he then– just a great side story– at our local elementary school my youngest son, they said during story time, “do you have anything to share?”  And he said, “yes, my brother went to jail last night.” And the teacher said, “Oh, that’s ok it happens to all of us, you know it will get worked out.”  And my youngest son said, “We’re so proud.”

Good Job Son! (Although this is not his actual son)

Did the mass disruption and family members in prison bother Lerner?

“People um–you know and so yes, people ranted and raved and complained, but in the end, every janitor almost in Washington D.C. is union now.”

Suppose the ends justify the means if everyone get s a Union out of it. The moral of the heartwarming story was made clear by Lerner:

“What I’m proposing is that if we don’t have an ability to cause pain and cause money to those who have power, that they have no incentive to want to change.”

But the legendary SEIU organizer was not content with just his own children’s incarceration, he wanted the mostly student audience at Georgetown to share in the experience:

“Whenever I come back, everybody’s got to be willing to raise their hand and say, ‘I’ve been arrested‘ or ’I’m gonna be arrested.’

Lerner closed with further inspiration for the Occupy generation:

“If we are not willing to go to jail, if we are not willing to take that risk, if we are not willing to put our bodies on the line, and if we are not willing to stand up to folks who are literally plundering and raping the earth while enriching themselves, then it‘s shame at us and that’s a world we can’t bequeath to our children and grandchildren.”

      That’s the usual “wink and nod” that lefty elites give to their footsoldiers. “Get arrested” means disrupt, destroy get violent, get confrontational. This serves a number of purposes for OWS and Lerner’s allies. They hope to exploit an incident that will paint either the police or conservatives in a bad light. Both would be used by the enemedia (who’s sympathetic to Lerner and OWS) to further OWS and Lerner’s agenda. Lerner knows the enemedia is on his side and looking for anything to exploit against conservatives and the tea parties.
      The other aspect is history. History teaches us that when these “movements’ reach an impasse. When they stop growing and lose public support and media’s attention, they must get more violent and confrontational. The recent May Day protests were a complete bust for OWS and the unions. Nowhere near the numbers they wanted and to add insult to injury, five lefty plotters were arrested planning to blow up bridges in OWS’ cause. Lerner and his allies have been desperate to create a tea party of their own but it’s all blown up in their faces. And now they’re at the point where they have no choice but to get more violent and disruptive to win back media attention, look…at the end of the day, the media has to run stories that warrant some kind of attention, with OWS fizzling out and being seen as ridiculous, it’s not good business to keep running stories on them…so Lerner tells his brownshirts…“get arrested”

      One more reason we need to get Obama out of the White House. He and the union leaders so closely tied its as if they are one entity. Lerner is encouraging college students to destroy their futures by getting arrested. Wonder if the unions will hire them after they are arrested?

      Well, then, with that kind of logic, he would be bursting at the seams if his son were hauled in on murder charges, rape and terrorism.

      That kind of pride is really awesome. Just a bit unusual, too, I might add.

      But everybody should get what he wants.

      I can just see him beaming with unconcelaed pride as the handcuffs are slipped on his kid after he’s burned down half the neighborhood.

      Now someone is telling students to get arrested and we still have no one looking into this?
      Who’s hands will their (students) blood be on? I guess the people enforcing the law and citizens protecting their property will be blamed.

      The only upside to this, is that most of the people they try to organize are too lazy to even get up
      in the morning to find a job. They may just stay in bed like most of the occupiers that were supposed to cause chaos on May 1st. LOL too lazy to show up!

      Tell mom & Dad to relax they now have a liberal non educated know nothing worthless dead beat child that will be a permanent fixture in their basement and a life long drain on their retirement resources. As well your mom is there to do the childs laundry for as long as she is able. If it were my sibling it would be a mere matter of a little big brother justice.     I bet his daddy was a UAW union member and was telling all the Big 3 (joke) workers to re-elect Jimmy Carter. Interest rates to buy a new car was 21% and to buy a home a good deal was 17%. Half of Detroit was laid off. Thank goodness when the folks got in voteing booth they gave the union the middle finger. Myself a young Democrat voted for Carter and was scared to death he was going to be re-elected – we would have been using Russien Rubels. If I recall he lost more than any president before.

    LERNER IS NO FATHER, he is a sperm donor and no good brain matter or at least he didn’t use the good..

    His son may have had a chance if he had a Mother and Father that taught him the godly way of teaching him about love, the good and honesty way. You can’t destroy other peoples possessions or break the law and not have it account on your record for future employers or if to better oneself. Check for the good way of doing anything in life and not evil ways and God and everyone will think more of you.

    Maybe they don’t check your law background there at the community organizing level (Obama anyone?), but your record will follow your little tushes around the rest of your lives… especially for sensitive jobs.

    Just like dope smokers who spend their lives spinning their wheels because they’d rather get high than work for a decent company, with a decent paying job that may require drug testing.

    Not good advice for anyone unless your George Clooney or someone who doesn’t have to REALLY wok for a living…

      Totally agree … this would be the dumbest move they could make .. after spending all that money on an “education” (well at least a piece of paper .. most of these liberal institutions don’t really teach they indoctinate). I wonder what the parents thought about his advise (?) ? I sent my son to a private college that teaches useful occupations .. like in medical field, business, etc. (he has a degree in accounting and is working in his field)

    If that union guru and fanatical progressive wants to be arrested; then he should comply with the police and be arrested when he breaks the law. I hope the police have it all on video, including him fighting them every inch of the way as he is put into the cruiser.

    The closer we get to the Nov elections; the moment Obama sees his grand delusion of the people has failed completely then all Hades will break loose from the unions and Occupy bands, backed up by the extremist and radical movements.
