Scott Walker Supporters Take Up Effort to Write in Govs Name in Democratic Primary

AP

Supporters of Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker are attempting to spoil the recall effort against him with a campaign to get voters to write the governor‘s name in as a candidate in the state’s Democratic primary to seek an opponent for him.

Walker opponents officially filed petitions last month to force a recall election in an attempt to oust the governor from office.

According to the Menomonee Falls Patch, the write-in effort started as a conversation on Facebook, but in little more than a week the page “Operation: Write in Scott Walker in Democrat primary“ garnered more than 900 ”likes.”

“If we can gain a majority of the votes in the [D]emocratic primary we will have defeated the [D]emocrats at their game and save [sic] the tax payers millions of dollars,” the page states. In addition to Wisconsin-related news, recent postings on the page include anti-Obama and anti-Nancy Pelosi links.

Such a write-in effort is possible under Wisconsin’s open primary system, which allows voters to vote in a party’s primary even if they do not share its political affiliation.

Still, it’s not clear what would happen in the general recall election if the effort were successful, the Patch reported, and the Government Accountability Board — the body overseeing the recall effort — would not speculate.

“The law requires a space for write-in on the ballot,” spokesman Reid Magney said. “Beyond that, it would be premature for us to comment on something that involves so much speculation.”

John Willock, a volunteer with Friends of Scott Walker and a fan of the write-in page, said the plan is getting a lot of buzz.

“I go from one side of the state to the next during my work day, and I’ve heard people talking about it from Racine to Eau Claire,” Willock said. “It’s not really an organized effort, but there’s a lot of people talking about it.”

Wisconsin Democratic Party spokesman Graeme Zielinksi dismissed the chance of any kind of Walker write-in campaign succeeding, telling the Patch his first reaction to it was “Surprise, then laughter.”

“Republicans seem frightened by democracy and the will of the people and, given what Scott Walker has done to ruin Wisconsin, they should be,” Zielinski said.

As The Blaze previously reported, efforts to recall Walker stem from anger over his successful move to effectively end collective bargaining rights for most public workers.

“Republicans seem frightened by democracy and the will of the people… ” If I recall correctly, and I do, it was the Democrats who fled the state like spoiled children because they were on the losing side of a “democratic” vote. Funny how it is only democracy when they get their way.

Live near Monroe…funny as hell “what Scott Walker has done to Wisconsin”! I suppose balancing the budget, taking some of the burden off taxpayers doing all the heavy lifting for inflated health insurance as well as entire retirement system – gee, that is terrible. Compare that to the libs that eternally live on “we will squeeze more out of others” and I suppose it is terrible. I about dropped a load when my accountant wanted to know internet purchases so I can pay a user fee! (only a year into living in WI)
We pay more in property taxes for our one place here than we do on two in another state – but you will not find a gravel road in this state! I will take economic freedom for $100….”who helped lower property taxes and balance the budget to help the working Wisconsin majority?”

“that would be Scott Walker Mr. Trebec”

Very well put scary. These progressive marxists live in their own little bubble world where up is down, left is right, and wrong is right. Hilarious that they think they represent the majority of the people in that state.
The beauty is once they fail miserably in the recall, they’ll be spent, most people who otherwise don’t pay attention will see them for the fools they are. AND their coffers will be dry…

That’s half right. Had Walker run on that platform, or even mentioned it, he wouldn’t have been elected. He pulled to old bait and switch. The other half of the anger is over deception.

In accordance with the laws of the state, he’ll be recalled and a Democrat elected. That’s what happens when you pull a fast one on your state.

lol! The only ones scared of Democracy are the demon-rats! They flee the state to stop democracy from happening. Recall a democratically elected governor because they don’t agree with his policies – not because of any wrong doing -. Cry “obstruction” when the Republicans won’t give them their way in congress, after being specifically elected to STOP them from getting their way. They use activist judges to overturn ballot initiatives they don‘t agree with after they’re passed by the will of the people. They generally kick and scream and protest like spoiled children at a special needs camp every and any time they don’t get their way. Yeah, it’s the reps who are afraid of democracy. It’s like the mindless liberal lemmings live in an alternate universe. The level of stupidity from the left makes me ashamed we’re the same species. We should be split into 2 separate species by political affiliation. **** Sapiens Logicus for the right and **** Libtardus Retardicus for the left (which would also be classified as a plant)

@scarybones you are absolutely right. Not to mention it was the “will of the people” that Scott Walker become Governor and clean up the state, and balance the budget. And he has done his job. The fear is, that by doing what he has done to the Unions, it SHOWS he was right, the Unions are sucking the life right out of every state. They fear this will start spreading. In the very beginning, the Unions had a purpose. To stop low pay, long hours and health hazards, and no benefits. Now the Unions have become nothing more than a pyramid scheme, that only benefit the top elite in the organization. They FORCE people to belong to the Union, they FORCE people to pay dues. Well, if the Union is so damn good, why do they need to force it? People should be flocking to it? Paying voluntarily. Now they are all about exorbitant perks, signature coffee and free lunches to union employees, vacations to mecca, pay scales that do cot coincide with the work effort given or the results expected. Especially the teacher’s unions. As long as you have been a teacher for a long time, you get big pay, big pay raises, and big retirement, doesn’t matter that you suck as a teacher, your students are failing. It could be said that the teen crime is a direct result from the lack of competent teachers, all those failures in the education system are a direct result of of teachers that failed their students. Teachers are the poster child of that school of thought everyone gets a trophy, even the loser teac

This is a grassroot effort with over 12,000 volunteers working right now to get this database done. A majority voted this man into office and we believe he is doing what is best for our state!!! I believe that if this recall does take place he will be voted back as our governor. So please, know that we are not all horrid little people to be ashamed of.

MR MOLOTOV COCKTAIL, So, somebody else is wondering about your moniker and picture. I’ve been wondering myself how you did come to call yourself Mr Molotov Cocktail. Has to be an interesting story.
As for Constitutional knowledge, I rarely go anywhere without my pocket pamphlet Constitution. The Constitution itself along with all amendments take up only 35 pages. It is rather small to have all the crap that Dems say are in it as far as I am concerned. I often hear people say such and such is in the Constitution and I simply pull it out and ask them to please show me. Nobody that has made that claim to me has been able to back up their statements being in the Constitution. Some have tried though, and eventually gave up after flipping through it for a while. I will have to agree with you on one thing though. Far too many people on both sides of aisle do not understand, or have bothered to read the Constitution.

I guess that means you were blessed with the fact that you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You should pray to God every day that were were fortunate to come from a family of wealth and prestige. I‘ll bet you didn’t do it on your own. You libs look down on regular people like us because you are so stuck on yourselves. You are nothing but Aristocrats looking down on us peasants. I’ll bet you never even served your country in the military did you? I’ll bet once upon a time you called us “baby killers.” I know just ten years ago that was still going around from you libs. Most of us Conservative low-lifes have seen things you will never, ever see. That’s the problem with libs. You people just don’t get it. You are too busy looking down on the very people who built this country while you sit up there in your castles and talk sh8t about how lowly we are. I hope Scott Walker wins the Democratic Primary and I hope it sends a message that you Liberals are NOT in the majority. Just remember you have the East Coast and the West Coast, with a couple of states in the middle. Conservatives are all over the rest of the country. That may be true Mr. Blowup, but you have to also look at who is in charge in the schools. All these welfare states are educated by UNION TEACHERS or the kids drop out. Just because Republican have taken over from Democrats, the education system does not rectify itself overnight. Most states mentioned in the top ten rate are in the very bottom for average IQ except Montana, South Dakota and Virginia. You also have to look at how long Democrats were in charge before Republicans took over. See you Liberals are really good at pointing fingers when Repubs are in office, but seem to be an handicapped when Democrats are in charge.

      MR MOLOTOV COCKTAIL,
“republicans stand for state rights against the union read any of the founders they were all pro-unionist pro america”
The original eleven colonies became the first STATES of this nation, not PROVINCES. You really should look up the true definition of the word ‘state.’ From what you have been saying you seem to think of them more as provinces. The founding fathers were not ‘unionist’ as you have stated. They did believe in a small central government that would ‘unite’ the states, thus we are called The United States Of America for a very good reason. The founding fathers purposely wrote the Constitution and eventually the Bill Of Rights to limit the federal government and to recognize the God given rights of the people. It‘s not a matter of the Republicans standing up for state’s rights to upset the power of the federal government. It’s a matter of the Republicans upholding the Constitution as written. The left is simply trampling the Constitution with such things as 0bama wanting to bypass the Congress to enact the laws that he desires. Simply a blatant violation of the Constitution. That is just one example and there are too many others to list in this limited space. I suggest that you actually do study some real history instead of making it up. That is, unless what you said above is what you were taught. Go read some real books on history, and start with some really old one. Suggest you read some written by founding fathers. Warning, the

      Comrade Molotov—

“want to know what happened to the orginal conservative party by- the founders they were tar and feathered and ran out of the country”

Not quite, comrade. Many loyalist Tories went into exile, but modern American conservativism has more in common with Whiggism (more or less the philosophy of the Founders) than Toryism (the ulra-conservative monarchism of the Loyalists):

“Whiggism referred originally to the Whigs of the British Isles, but in its ‘Country Party’ form was largely adopted by the American Patriots in the Thirteen Colonies. American Whiggism was known as republicanism.”

      And:

“[James] Tyrrell propounded a moderate Whiggism which interpreted England‘s balanced and mixed constitution ’as the product of a contextualized social compact blending elements of custom, history, and prescription with inherent natural law obligations.’[9] [Algernon] Sidney, however, emphasized the main themes of Republicanism. He based Whig ideology in the sovereignty of the people by proposing a constitutional reordering that would both elevate the authority of Parliament and democratize its forms; Sidney also emphasized classical republican notions of virtue.[10] Ward says that [John] Locke’s liberal Whiggism rested on a radically individualist theory of natural rights and limited government.[11]”

Public employees however, who are paid by the tax payers are not allowed to unionize. We have a lower unemployment rate than the national average, and less people on the government dole. In a state that use to be considered “backward”, others are now coming and asking how we did it? The answer is in this reply.

Look it up the Koch brothers did not donate a single dollar to Walker, Opensecrets.org. They have only donated 12 million since 1989 to Republicans. It was employees who work at a paper mill that they own that donated money, again these talking points may work when you’re completely devoid of reality and the truth; but it is your side, ACTBlue and the government Unions that dropped millions of dollars into Wisconsin, not the Koch brothers. I know facts are a hard thing to understand for a liberal, but a quick check of public records is a good place to start. really? where do you get your facts at? virginia and maryland are the top 2….and the bottom 2 are nevada and utah…..

as far as the highest poverty..most of those are in the south…and have had democrats running them since not too long after the civil war…it takes a while to turn around all those years of democrat rule…just look at detroit…

your progressive policies are failures….socialism never works…see detroit….social security and medicare are bankrupt…the country is bankrupt thanks to your fascist progressive policies…good job nut-job.

The election will be so “filled” with corruption and intimidation by the union goons that it will be impossible to determine who the winner is! If the union goons are counting the ballots then we know who will win! “We all need to support Gov. Walker to help him defeat the communist regime of obama and trumpka in any way we can!”

Won’t say this about the worker, but the unions themselves are organized crime. Most of the workers are brain dead zombies though. Note, that I did not say ‘all’ regarding the workers. I’ve been stuck in jobs that required that I join a union too.

Ah. Wisconsin. Birth of our first Occupy ! So “ Republicans seem frightened by democracy ” per Mr. Zielinski . Perhaps this Democrat seer could explain why the Democrats are calling for a recall election, which will of course cost the sucker tax payers money, for no other reason than that the Democrats do not like the policies which the voters elected Governor Walker to institute. The Democrats seem not only frightened by the will of the voters but also angry, dismissive, and arrogant in trying to over come the results of an election. Zielinski’s “ character assassination” of the Republicans is also typical of our current Democrats: accusing them of “ ruining” Wisconsin when Republicans try to enforce the will of the people, not the Democrat Union/ Media Propaganda Machine. Gee, wonder if they will OCCUPY the capitol building again? . So SICK of these union Lefty goons and their junior members at our Democrat city Occupies…

In Canada there is no federal/provincial tool to recall the sitting government. I find it exciting to watch the American republic system of gov at work. I would love to see this effort to write in gov Walker succeed and shut down the liberal forces.

The closest thing we have here is to accept your voting ballot and mark it by strike through so it is a destroyed ballot, however when the effort to get everyone to do that was put forth the gov quickly made destroyed ballots uncountable. I always wondered what would happen if destroyed ballots won the election. Considering destroyed ballots are still counted the fact they have no value would still cause a problem if they were to be the majority vote.

Ya Can’t fix Democrat stupid… He talks about democracy and the will of the people.. when it was democracy and the will of the people that put Walker in office to start with.

Brilliant! Chicago politics in Madison. Let’s see how many Hitlers and Mickeys we can sign in to vote. Soros’ team is monitoring the count. They’ll keep it straight. Should be landmark primary.
