Search Engine Results Reveal: Teens Dont Know Who OBL Is

According to a report posted by  Yahoo, it appears that most teens do not know who Osama bin Laden is. Two thirds of people who searched “who is Osama bin Laden” on Sunday turned out to be teenagers:

Teens ages 13-17 were seeking more information as they made up 66% of searches for “who is osama bin laden?”

More from the Yahoo report:

According to Yahoo!, The Top Searched Questions on Osama bin Laden are (based on Sunday, 5/1):

Is Osama bin Laden dead?
How did Osama bin Laden die?
Who killed Osama bin Laden?
How old is Osama bin Laden
Who is Osama bin Laden
Where was Osama bin Laden killed?
Is Osama bin Laden dead or alive?
How tall is Osama bin Laden?

Younger Generation. News of Osama bin Laden’s death seemed to have struck a chord with younger folks who grew up during the war on terrorism.

- On Yahoo!, 1 in 3 searches for “how did osama bin laden die” on Sunday were from teens ages 13-17.
- According to Yahoo!, 40% of searches on Sunday for “who killed osama bin laden” were from people ages 13-20.
- However, it seems teens ages 13-17 were seeking more information as they made up 66% of searches for “who is osama bin laden?”

I just came from a college this weekend and tried to talk politics.
Nobody wanted to have a dialog – they just wanted to spew back at me why it was their right to free everything.
Nobody educates these kids anymore – they just spoon-feed them the socialist / progressive propaganda and expect them to parrot it back………. dude.

Just like all these B.S. statistics, you have to break it down and look at the ORIGINAL article…. it only says 2/3 or the people conducting that search are teenagers. Relatively speaking, it‘s wasn’t that popular of a search. I’m more concerned about the 1/3 that wasn’t made up of teenagers. Oh… and teenagers don’t use yahoo to search anyways. Yet another sensationalized headline easily deemed irrelevant.

Why would these clueless turds know who he is? Bin Laden doesn’t have a sex tape with a celebrity, isn’t a rapper, isn’t on a reality show. Parents don‘t talk to their kids about terrorism and kids aren’t going to take the initiative to educate themselves of goings on in the world.

Equally as scary: Search engines know the ages of persons doing searches.

Sorry folks, the liberals in the schools are too busy (being involved in things they shouldn’t be involved in) to tell our kids about mass murderer terrorists and their plans for wiping us off the earth.

I watched the celebration of sorts that seemed more like a sports event. I don’t think the teachers are teaching their kids the difference between war and a weekend game. either.

I think it’s the “OMG” generation effect, the majority born after ‘95 are blissfully unaware of, well, everything that isn’t pandering teachers, M – I mean ‘Reality’ tv, and parents that’d rather toss there kid a gameboy(I know, I’m old school) then actually have a conversation. The really sad part, I‘m only 21 and it seems like there’s a huge generation gap between we young adults and those teens. I just don’t get it O_o

If they do teach who OBL is, or was, I am sure that there is so much Political Correctness, and left wing teacher union bias, that OBL comes out as a hero. If you remember right, OBL was on our side when the Russians were in Afghanistan, history is a fickle b***h, it just depends on who is writing it.

Yes, thank God he’s dead (maybe, don’t trust this bunch at all, on anything), but a little decorum goes a long way.
If you think back, the way your parents and grandparents acted. The films from the 40′s, 50′s, and early 60′s. When the bad guys got greased, the good guys just took a long look and then walked away. A job well done. No celebration, high fives, booyah, anything like that. Just quietly acknowledged and that was that. Class, maturity, not childish bravado. Too me, a more Christian approach.

Like it or not, everytime you do anything on the internet, there is the potential for tracking you. It is a little thing like your IP address, that tells a lot, like where you are from, who your ISP is and so on. Yahoo, Google, all of them MUST track you, that is how they target ads and set the keyword prices and so on. There is but one way to keep this info private………stay off of the Internet, sorry.

By the time they are old enough to start paying attention to World Events, OBL wasn't making headlines on a daily basis. And face it many people don't place a ton of emphasis on 9/11 like the should so OBL wouldn't come up in conversation too often. "Have you forgotten…" indeed they have.

My 14 year old daughter knows full well who, what and where regarding OBL. However, I would not fault her for being part of the statistics listed by Yahooooo. She also desires to know more about current events and that would lead her to do more research.

Now, that being said, I agree that most (not all) teens these days are generally clueless and often times their parents are the root of that ignorance and lack of desire to know more. I could see a scenario where a kid askes Mom and Dad ” What’s all this on the news about?” and a parent doesn’t know (or maybe does) and tells the kid, “Why don’t you go look it up”? Ya know what, more power to the kid who did so.

These statistics are very misleading. 66% of those who searched for “who is osama bin ladin?” were teenagers, yes, but what about the 34% of adults?
Not to mention, the NUMBER of searches were probably very low, as this is only a PERCENTAGE of those who actually did the searching. It doesn‘t account for all those who already knew the answer and didn’t have to search for it!!!
This 17 year old did not have to search for “who is osama bin ladin” and neither did many of my high school friends. Many conservatives make the mistake of alienating the rising generation, The Blaze should have pointed out this skewing of information.

It’s a sad viewof our society when kids know who Snooki is, what she does, and where she’s from..etcetcetc but don’t know any world geography, history, who is the VP. I was shaking my head on a show recently when the “college” freshmen were asked where canada is, Alaska, they didn’t know.

It’s the parents fault! 100% their fault. The school will run amuck when allowed to. \
We were scared the teachers would tell our parents something we did..not these kids, they brag about it.
At my GD school the 7th graders look like hookers in training, school reading grade is below average..

You have to admit, though, that alot of kids now are more interested in video games than things that are happening in the world. I don’t blame them, it was the same when I was a kid. Exactly Kate!
I don’t have a problem with most of the kids, it’s the dysfunctional, pot smoking, s#!+ for brains jackwagons left over from the 60′s that we should be blaming this on. Of course, they got it from the commie dupes that permeated the universities in the 50‘ and 60’s because the House Committee on Un-American Activities was watered down and discredited by soviet propaganda. And they got it from the dupes that followed the Bolsheviks in the 1920‘s and 30’s.
If we had just rid the world of the leftist ideology back then, we wouldn’t be facing the daunting task of having to irradicate it today, and that IS what it will take!

My daughter comes from what I like to call a politically savy household, and that household is ours and she is 19 years old. She has since moved out into her own apartment. She also doesn’t have a television because she uses her cell phone and computer to get her entertainment. Ironically, there was a story today about TV sales being the lowest in 20 years. Yes, computers may have some thing to do with it, but I tend to think that many people just can’t afford them due to this wonderful economy of “hope and change”.

Upon hearing the news of Osama’s death, I told my wife to call our daughter to inform her. My wife call her, and my wife then said, “Osama bin Laden has been killed!” My daughter’s response was, “Is that a good thing?” I was floored and shocked because it is not like she wasn’t exposed to world events here at home when she lived here and here ignorance of who OBL was was a mind blower, especially since I distinctly remember having a conversation with her about it. Yes, I hate to agree, but teens are stupid, including my daughter. Having said that, it is no wonder really. The news my daughter accesses on her computer is from here MSN homepage, and it is very hard to find news regarding matters other than movie stars, entertainment, new cars, sex surveys, make-up, Lady Gaga etc. There is barely any real news on that page.

      What is scarier:
That teens don’t care, are stupid, or are uninformed,
Or that yahoo knows EXACTLY who is using their search engine?

My 14 year old daughter knows full well who, what and where regarding OBL. However, I would not fault her for being part of the statistics listed by Yahooooo. She also desires to know more about current events and that would lead her to do more research.

My fiance’s 13-year-old daughter knows full well who he is/was, and knew before a week ago. This is true, but statistically speaking (thanks yahoo for informing us that you keep tabs on EVERY user of your search engine) most teens are indoctrinated or just don’t care, in the style of CHEEZWHIZ (marry me now) “Like, OMG! Did u c who got voted off last night? He was SO CUTE! Osama who? Didn’t he like, do some stuff way back in the last like, decade or something? CU in skool and ttyl!”

Like, gag my 39-year-old ass with a spoon.

Come on why would they anything about OBL? They are the most self center, instant gratification, ignorant generation ever in the US’s history. Of course there are acceptations to this but most of them fit this mold. They are the ENTITLEMENT generation. I try to talk to them to see what they think about. I am shocked how ignorant most of them are. When I do find someone who knows what is going on it is actually shocking. They stand out. That is why I think Glenn Beck has the right idea to get to the younger generation before they get brainwashed.

“Are teenagers stupid? Ill-informed? Or both?”
      —————————————————————-
That would be… Yes, Yes, and Yes!

I remember back when I was a teenager, the crew I hung out with thought we knew EVERYTHING. Then I grew up and learned that we didn’t know squat!

This reminds me. Recently, one of my grandkids at the tender age of 17 got his girlfriend pregnant. My wife and I knew nothing about it until the baby was born. According to the kids, the condom they used broke, but I have my doubts. Anyway, we found out after the fact, and instead of being saddened or upset at these dumb kids, I ended up being very impressed. They decided together that aborting was out of the question. Immediately on finding out that his girlfriend was pregnant he quit school to get a job. Once he found a job he enrolled in night classes to get his GED. His girlfriend enrolled in a local college to work on her nursing credentials, and she went to class every day while pregnant and even on the day she gave birth, she was at school when her water broke. Between the two kids they have worked out a schedule that works for them right now, with very little interference from their parents. My grandson hasn’t missed a day of work or any of his classes, and his girlfriend has found part-time work at night after her nursing classes. The baby is doing great and they are planning to get married this summer, and they have done all I described above in a little less than a year. Was I upset that my grandson has really messed-up, yes. But the way he and his girlfriend have tackled the whole situation makes me proud. I know I was never that grown-up at that age.

      Time for a real leader…

They are neither stupid, nor ill-informed. They are indoctrinated. For you see our public education system in America is a four-phase system. 1) Primary school: Teach students how to think. 2) Middle school: Teach students WHAT to think. 3). Post High School: Learn how to teach students to think. 4) Become a teacher: And teach children how to think. The full-circle of education in the public schools in America. And we are funding it; one of the 4-pillars of deceit in America.
