LAS VEGAS (NewsCore) — The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas appears to have lived up to its name once again — claiming a second victim after a customer collapsed while chomping on a so-called “double bypass burger.”
A woman had been drinking alcohol, eating and smoking when she lost consciousness and fell on the floor Saturday night, KVVU-TV reported Monday.
The woman, aged in her mid forties, was wheeled out by paramedics who arrived within five minutes, said Jon Basso, owner of the hospital-themed restaurant known for its artery-clogging cuisine.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital and expected to recover, KTNV-TV reported. It was not known what caused her to collapse but Basso told the Los Angeles Times she had apparently gotten what she came for — a brush with death.
“We attract an avant-garde clientele — thrill-seekers, risk-takers,” he said, adding that his restaurant was “bad for you but fun” and was popular with “people who don’t really take good care of their health.”
The Heart Attack Grill made headlines in February when a man in his forties chowing down a “triple bypass burger” suffered chest pains midway through his meal.
The eatery, which displays a sign on its door saying, “Caution! This establishment is bad for your health,” goes all-out when it comes to unhealthy food items.
The menu offers “flatliner fries,“ ”butterfat milkshakes“ and a ”quadruple bypass burger” than can exceed 8,000 calories.
Diners who weigh more than 350 pounds (158kg) can eat for free.

You should have to pay more for insurance for your filthy habits.

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 2:05pmThe way to go is grass fed beef. No steroids, no hormones, no mystery feed. My partner and I just purchased half of a grass fed Texas Longhorn. Average price including processing $6.13 per pound. Find out what beef is supposed to taste like. It is nutritionally superior to the crap they sell in restaurants and food stores. Black Angus, etc. is all BS. Currently American cattle would die in 6 months from the drugs and feed they are given if they weren’t slaughtered before that time. Be smart, do the research. Eat less good food.

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 5:16amI just don’t want to be on the same medical plan as these folks. Posted on April 24, 2012 at 10:37amWe already pay with our tax dollars every time one goes into an emergency room uninsured. We pay with our premiums if they are. No, I don’t think people should be able to eat whatever they want if it affects the rest of us and if their children are as overweight as they are, they should be looked into for child abuse and neglect. You people complain all the time when their little brats act out in your favorite Wal Mart. What is the difference if they can‘t control their children’s eating habits or if they are slowly killing their kids with food?

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 12:08pm@foxhole Atheist: If you go back one step more into the health care issue you get to the place things should be: hospitals and doctors should not be REQUIRED to treat anyone who cannot pay them for their services. AND as members of the human family we all should care for those who NEED essential services; food, shelter, medical care. If the moral and religious people were doing their part in society, we would be teaching many more to do likewise and there would not be any thought of getting the Government to Force us to do it. Many of us are not very good human beings, and many of us are very good. We all need to work at being better people and not just letting or requiring the Government to take over our responsibilities.

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 1:43amI have no problem with this, they tell you exactly what they are. Personally, I think it’s awful to promote such unhealthy foods and lifestyles so I would not eat there. It is up to us individually to make that decision “Do I eat this food which has a DISCLAIMER on it saying it could kill me, or do I go down the steet and eat something else”. I would probably avoid it, but you ate it and survived. Good for you. To each his own, GOD BLESS THE USA!!!
