Security Boots Cowboys Receiver From Texas Mall in Row Over Saggy Pants

DALLAS (AP) — Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant was ejected from an upscale Dallas shopping mall after a dispute over the sagging pants worn by him and some companions.

A Tuesday police statement says officers working off-duty Saturday as security at NorthPark Center encountered Bryant and three companions wearing the drooping pants.

According to the statement, when the officers asked the four to pull up their trousers, Bryant launched into a profanity-laced tirade that prompted the officers to escort the four from the mall.

Police say Bryant refused to leave, however, until his “representative” could arrive and he parked in a fire lane until a friend arrived and persuaded him to leave.

No charge was filed. Bryant’s agent, Eugene Parker, declined to comment. The Dallas Cowboys did not respond to requests for comment.

I don’t think there is a dress code besides no shirt no shoes no service. I find the look disgusting but it is not illegal just distasteful. And when it is stated that it was an upscale mall, then it really gets into a gray area where the two poverty pimps (love that!) could just make a case. Would they even be noticed at a “regular” mall? I think the best outcome is that this guy grows up and begins acting like a responsible adult.

If you read the article, the guy was not kicked out of the mall because of his pants. When asked to pull them up, he ‘launched into a profanity-laced tirade’. That’s what got him kicked out. Reading comprehension is your friend.

I don’t think saggy pants say “classy”, but I certainly don‘t think its grounds to be kicked out of someone’s place of business.

But, businesses are free to serve who they want, and if they determine that allowing saggy pants in their business hurts their image, then they’re free to ask those people to leave. If kicking out people with saggy pants hurts their business, then they will either end up going under, or they’ll have to adapt their policy. That’s the beauty of capitalism.

The whole “baggy pants epidemic” originally started when youner inmates were not allowed to have belts, to prevent suicide attempts. An unfortunate side-effect was the baggy pants, which left them open to all sorts of sexual assaults from older, bigger and meaner inmates. It’s odd that I use the word inmate so easily, as that would be my new name if I ever caught one of my daughters dating some moron with his pants around his knees.

The baggy pants did start in prison and not because of “belts” or just one race. It was a sign of defiance and rebellion in the prisons which became a fad outside of prisons.

If people should be thrown out for baggy pants then so should those who are too fat and wear skin tight cloths or this who pull their pants up so far they have camel toes regardless of gender.

Those saying good are really saying you want restrictions on what a person can wear or that we should all wear uniforms in public. Think about it. Why I don’t pull my pants to my neck nor let them sag at my ankles I do not think anyone should tell me how to dress let alone anyone else.
