‘Knock it off!‘ See Bill O’Reilly’s Wild Interview With Tavis Smiley & Cornel West

PBS broadcaster Tavis Smiley and Princeton Professor Cornel West are currently crisscrossing the country promoting their TV special on poverty. Their media tour led them to Bill O’Reilly Tuesday night. And it was an explosive appearance.
O’Reilly started the segment by quoting some poverty stats on what the government is doing to help the poor, and how some poor have become “addicted” to aid. He then brought on Smiley and West to respond.
And that’s when it got real interesting.
West quickly rattled off something about the top one percent having 40 percent of the wealth, and then talked at warp speed about off-shore bank accounts before continuing to talk. And talk. O’Reilly eventually cut him off and warned him not to “filibuster.”
O’Reilly then defined what Smiley and West are advocating to solve the problem of poverty — redistribution of wealth — as socialism, and when Smiley responded, we got our first fireworks. See, O‘Reilly misunderstood Smiley’s response when Smiley said O’Reilly was “right” about something — O’Reilly thought Smiley said he “lied” and O’Reilly quickly fired back (telling Smiley not to call him a liar) before eventually apologizing. Still, West saw that as an opportunity and said everyone lies, even O’Reilly.
Then it really got going. That‘s because Smiley hinted that O’Reilly is racist because his show confronted a black CEO.
“Oh Tavis, knock it off! … We treat everybody the same here, Tavis,” O’Reilly responded forcefully.
“No you do not,” Smiley said as the two talked over each other. And that set up an explosion on set.
Smiley said it was ridiculous that while protesters were being arrested, no bankers had been apprehended. O’Reilly shouted, “Because they didn’t violate any laws, Tavis!”
Immediately both Smiley and West erupted in shouts, and West even leaped out of his chair and approached the camera with arms wide open.
“Oh! Come on, Bill! How do you know? There’s been no investigation!” West exclaimed.
“Hold it! If you’re going to make an accusation, professor, as a learned academic,” O’Reilly responded, “that…the fat cats on Wall St. broke the law, back it up! What law did they break?”
West responded that he had a “hunch” that if the bankers were investigated they would be found to have broken the law.
Eventually, O’Reilly told Smiley to “calm down” after saying that if the pair brought him evidence, he would put it on the air.
Now that’s some great TV. You can watch it unfold below:

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 10:26amSome of the most unreasonable people I have ever encountered are the so called professors that infest the colleges and universities. Free speech? only if it agrees with their pre-disposed opinions and views I think. While I may think Bill O’Reilly is a bit too smug for his own good at times, I thought he conducted himself quite well and honorably in the face of the intellectual talking down these two clowns tried to give him. The Left always talks faster and more forcefully when they don’t want to give another differing opinion any “air time”. They forget that cardinal rule (at least in talk radio…): the one holding the microphone gets the last word. Thanks Mr O’Reilly for putting these two bozos on parade.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 11:17amThese two Yahoo’s, along with the likes of the CBC(Congressional Black Caucus), Al Sharpton and many in the black community, have been bred on the Great Society of LBJ, are an integral part of the Democrat Party’s plantation, and unfortunately are looking for a hand out, as are most of the growing numbers of our welfare induced society.
They do major harm to the black community and nominal good at best. The black community could do themselves much good by listening to what Herman Cain and the likes of Bill Cosby, Walter Williams and Congressman West from Florida have to say and begin to change their associations, implementing conservative principles of hard work, family values and responsibility.
Until Black Americans begin to take responsibility for their actions or inaction’s and man up to their familial responsibilities, and further realize that their allegiance to the Democratic Party is just digging them a deeper and deeper hole, there will be little change to their lot in life.
While Black America is waking up, the Republican Party can do more to welcome them, educate them and provide a hand up, when it is needed, which may well be quite often at first. The Republican Party can also get some balls and stand up for principal, like Cain, Gingrich and Santorum, and discard the likes of Romney and Perry, who are part of the establishment, or we will continue to be in the same sinking boat.
These times call for character, integrity, decisiveness and grit.

From the day a black is born in this country the federal, state, and county governments do everything within their power to make sure this black gets every advantage possible and it’s all paid for by the White tax payer. The federal government intimidates companies, business owners, and corporations to place blacks in high positions or else. Schools and colleges pass out diplomas to people that can’t even spell diploma. Criteria and standards are lowered to a point that blacks can get jobs and positions that they have no capacity to do, they are just empty suits.

Then they would be “free at last, free at last, thank God almighty free at last.” Oops forgot, the Latino’s are taking their land and jobs. That’s not fair. But now simply CEASING to be progressive is labled as REGRESSIVE.
I guess simply treating all people the same is now out of the question.
This is base-line socialism in which we BEGIN by assuming the government’s job is to ensure equality of relative economic impact. It‘s the same line of thinkling that says it is racist to IGNORE someone’s race and not give special preferment to the racial groups that need/deserve it.
Remember the bad old days under Reagan when Cosby was king on TV and it seemed like racial tensions were a thing of the past? I guess that threatened some people’s power base. Now the race demagogues like Sharpton, Jackson, West and Co. have seen to it that we are a more racist country than ever.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 4:35pmHere’s an example in this video of what I try to get across to the people here, and that is blacks despise whites, and most of the entire population of blacks complain about “racism” by whites, when anti-white hatred is endemic throughout the black population, mostly because they don‘t have the intelligence to succeed and are told throughout their communities that it’s whitey’s fault, rather than their own.
They justify all their hateful speech and action against whites, because they need a scaopegoat to blame.
Let me tell you flat out, if Hispanics were the dominant population in this country blacks would still fail as they do now, and they would be blaming Hispanics and would direct their hatred of Hispanics. Same thing if Asians were the dominant race in the US. Blacks will aways fail, and they will NEVER admit it’s their own fault, mostly because of black arrogance.
Take a look at this beating of an almost defenseless white woman, who is beaten by a typical anti-white black who is typ0ical of most all of them who despise whites. I’ll bet this punk whines about white racism too, just like the retards in the O’Reilly video.

No, I don’t, not until there are objective definitions as to what constitutes racial diversity. What percentages are required? And whose accounts of the respective demographics are accepted? We Tea Partiers don’t take roll calls and count racial representation, so any proposed demographc study is likely to be subjective, “I didn’t see any black people”, even while black people were there.
We could take a few snapshots of several large crowds in both type of events and count the minorities. I haven’t seen that done anywhere yet. Have you?

If you look at these Hamitic races around the world, they all need assistance, because they will not pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. It is fact. They are and will always be contrary to everything that the white Shemitic/Semitic races stand for and believe in. It is not just the black Hamites that I write about here, but the Assyrian/Gothic Hamites as well. We did ourselves no favors when we let historians rewrite history, leaving out the study of races. We do ourselves no favors when we let people like this teach our children in our colleges and universities, influencing the young minds of our children and leading them astray. We have a lot of housecleaning to do, and that is why it is imperative that we choose a Republican candidate as the next President of the United States, and one that adheres to the same ideology that the majority of Americans embrace.

Those filthy rich bankers are the ones funding your elections. As a result, laws are written specifically to exempt them, cater to them, and pander to them. The corruption problem is in the government, wall street is simply a symptom, not the problem.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 10:28amAhhh. Where to begin….
It is intellectually dishonest to point the finger at Wall Street for this issue. I only have one point to fault them with…They knew and expected the Government to prop them up when this would inevitably go out of control. All other fingers point to the government. You can’t put in regulations that incentivize bad loans through government backing and not expect the bankers to take the bait. Many bankers, in fact, did not take the bait at first. However, to remain competitive with others, most ended up doing so. They did so against all the measurements and principles they had in place to guide them through safe lending–because the government took away their need to be responsible for the outcome. Wall Street new this. Firms on Wall St. acted like capitalists. They played against the risks. Derivatives were born as a result. Wall St. isn’t a community center. It is a place to make money.
Report Post »There may have been foul play. I just say that the foul play was due to government meddling.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 11:29amRight on Montyray. We may not like how Wall Street responded but they were only responding to a demand instigated by the government. If you understand conventional loans and how the secondary mortgage market works then you will understand that Fannie and Freddie set the basic underwriting standards for the loans they will agree to purchase in the secondary mortgage market. With that insurance, other investors will purchase those loans which provides additional liquidity to the primary mortgage market. Fannie and Freddie continually lowered the underwriting standards which ultimately fueled the demand for real estate loans (i.e. credit scores; liabilities vs. asset requirements; income reporting requirements; etc). Wall St. responded by coming up with more creative ways to meet that demand. If you don’t like what happened then start protesting the government specifically those who supported Fannie and Freddie. They were the ultimate root cause of this fiasco.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 10:43amPeople don‘t listen to O’Reilly to hear an echo chamber.
Sometimes it is for O’Reilly to present facts to buttress the conservative case.
Other times it is is to see what the other side thinks. If we never had anyone from the left on we would be drinking kool aid a la Jim Jones (a social justice type with his People’s Temple).
