See Herman Cain Yell at a Reporter While Trying to Clarify Muslim Comments

Ever since Herman Cain made some either brutally honest or highly misunderstood statements in March about not appointing Muslims to his cabinet, and then doubled down on those comments, he’s been under fire to clarify them. He’s tried. Last month he told Glenn Beck that is comments were “misconstrued” — an odd statement considering he had already reiterated them. Since then, the words have continued to haunt him, like Saturday when the liberal outlet Talking Points Memo tried to pin him down about what exactly his position is. It didn’t end well.
During a press conference after his speech to the RightOnline conference, Cain tried to explain what he really meant when he said he wouldn’t appoint Muslims to his cabinet. Here’s how TPM characterized it:
Cain said the first thing that came to his mind when he got the question was violent Muslims. Cain made it clear that he would treat applicants for his administration differently if they were from the Muslim faith, based on the fact that they could, in fact, be terrorists.
“I am not anti-Muslim,” he said. “I am anti-terrorist. And so my statement has been misconstrued several times, I’ve even been called a bigot because I expressed a desire to be cautious if I were to consider a Muslim for my administration. That was the intent of [the answer to ThinkProgress].”
Cain explained his reasoning:
Because I’m thinking from the perspective of what Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said when I first heard him two or three months after 9/11/01. Number one, he said, terrorism is going to last a long time, and number two, America’s got to learn that they — the terrorists, the jihadists — they want to kill all of us. [Italics added to denote a block quote]
So far, that seems to be in line with the damage control he’s been doing since making the original comments. But then he added something curious.
“So, no, I‘m not going to play nicey nice and say that I’m not going to take extra precautions in order to be able that make sure that we can do our job,” Cain said.
That caused TPM to issue a follow-up question, which really is not odd in this instance: what kind of “extra precautions” would you take, then?
That’s when Cain decided to yell, even admitting that he was close to losing his “cool:”
“If you’re trying to make me lose my cool, you are almost succeeding,” Cain said, his voice rising. “I never said I would use any special precautions!”
OK, then, TPM followed up: “So a Muslim applies to be in the administration, he gets in like anybody else?”
“Yes,” Cain said.
You can watch for yourself below:
Cain quickly recognized that it probably wasn’t “politically correct” to scold the reporter like he did. And after defending himself, he apologized.
As a side note, others have characterized Cain’s response as a “scream.” TPM, and Cain, said he raised his voice. We think it seems somewhere between the two. But no matter what it is, it’s apparent that his initial comments are still giving him grief.

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 2:45pmAt this point the only people who care what the Islamists think, is the drive-by commie media, Liberals, Dumbo and the Islamist who want us to think they are tough. That might equal about 15% of the USA population. The pinko media are, big on mouth and very short of truth, and still have power to influence the apathetic Americans that are still asleep. Nevertheless, the apathetic Americans are waking up to the threat on their freedom and as they do the liberals are hearing the “Bell toll for them” and they are becoming terrified. As for me, I love seeing the sleeping giant awake and break the bonds of the socialists evil agenda.

Report Post »As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion as it has in itself no character of enmity [hatred] against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen [Muslims] and as the said States [America] have never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
This article may be read in two manners. It may, as its critics do, be concluded after the clause “Christian religion”; or it may be read in its entirety and concluded when the punctuation so indicates. But even if shortened and cut abruptly (“the government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion”), this is not an untrue statement since it is referring to the federal government.
Recall that while the Founders themselves openly described America as a Christian nation, they did include a constitutional prohibition against a federal establishment; religion was a matter left solely to the individual States. Therefore, if the article is read as a declaration that the federal government of the United States was not in any sense founded on the Christian religion, such a statement is not a repudiation of the fact that America was considered a Christian nation.

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 2:44pmIt is a known FACT that we have been fighting muslums since the inception of the Constitution and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Where do you think the first pirates that caused us to establish the Navy came from…..Turkey and Egypt and told the US that it is in their religion that this is to be done to ALL NON BELIVERS. Is Lame has caused wars since the war monger Mohammad started the whole ball rolling. He was a thief, murder, rapist, slave trader, and warlord that decided to start a religion based on those traits. I would not hire an ls lamist for all the money in the world because I know I would be selling my soul to do so and my soul belongs to God. I support Cain in his thoughts on this completely because I believe he sees the whole picture that the entire PC crowd refuses to see.

Treaty of Tripoli 1797
As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen,—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
Official records show that after President John Adams sent the treaty to the Senate for ratification in May 1797, the entire treaty was read aloud on the Senate floor, and copies were printed for every Senator. A committee considered the treaty and recommended ratification. Twenty-three of the thirty-two sitting Senators were present for the June 7 vote which unanimously approved the ratification recommendation.

Regardless of their initial error in understanding the root of the Moslem problem with the Barbary pirates, President Jefferson later corrected it when he took office in 1801, and the Marines marched on and defeated them in Tripoli in 1805 as reiterated in the Marine Hymn, and quashed it by 1815 with their military defeat. Adams and those assenting to that treaty erred greatly, and Jefferson, fully understanding the root of the problem in their theocratic religion, marshalled the military to fight their wicked evil genocidal adherents.

Posted on June 20, 2011 at 3:03pmUmmm your facts are wrong the US Navy (which is the best service that protects America) was established Oct, 13, 1775 to fight against the terrorists which at that time was the British Navy. The Marine Corp came shortly after in 1775 to defend against foreign navies ship to ship battles, ship security. I don’t remember when the Marine Corp was established I think a month later in November. I am sure my Marine brothers can correct my history if I am wrong.
However, it was our Marine Corp fighting the Muslims and the pirates in Tripoli, which is why, “the shores of Tripoli,” is in their song. But the Navy and Marine Corp was well established when that occured.

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 2:27pmTHE REPUBLIC IS IN CRISIS –LEADERSHIP REQUIRED
A champion of freedom, reminiscent of George Washington, will be necessary for the Republic to survive. This new leader must fulfill Ayn Rand’s definition of a “Radical for Capitalism” and will have to be a charismatic speaker to Garner the popular support required to save the Republic. At this time there’s no one on the national scene that fulfills these specifications. No RINOS allowed!
Two personalities that show promise are Herman Cain, Allen West and Marco Rubio. These men are excellent communicators but they have yet to earn extensive public support or demonstrate that they are truly “Radicals for Capitalism”. Only time will tell if either of these men has the philosophy and the charisma to save the Republic. Perhaps someone, unrecognized today, will rise to the occasion.
Who do you think has the capacity to restore the Republic? http://commonsense21c.com/

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 9:15pmToby, as a Floridian who voted for Rubio because of his Tea Party support, I was expecting a constitutionally conservative senator who would “hit the ground running”, sort of like Rand Paul did, but Rubio has been anything but dazzling in his performance thus far. I have written about five (5) letter to him thus far on a variety of issues, and the only one I received a response to was my demand that he vote against renewing the Patriot Act, and his response was essentially what I would have expected from the likes of Mel Martinez or his replacement, Lemieux–strictly Party-line. I think Marco Rubio is certainly a better senator for Florida than Charlie Crist would have been, but I believe he suckered the Tea Partiers by telling them what they wanted to hear. He talked the talk, but isn’t walking the walk.
And Rice Water, don’t kid yourself that all us Tea Partiers left the Republican Party and registered as Independents. I did that at first in 2004 when I realized George W. and the GOP no longer made supporting and defending the Constitution their highest priority, so changed my registration to Independent, but in 2007, when Ron Paul decided to run on the GOP ticket, I re-registered as a Republican just so I can vote in the primaries. My philosophy now is that I will vote for the most constitutionally conservative candidate in the GOP primaries, but I would “jump ship” in a minute if the GOP runs an Establishment candidate like John McCain or Mitt Romney again.

As president, how would you deal with the issue of Islam and religion in general. I mean, that would be the only way to make this “go away.” Not to say that it even NEEDS to go away.
here’s the strategy, outline the position with painstaking longevity and clarity. Then any time the question comes up, then you can just refer them to the speech or article or website or wherever that it’s outlined. Simple.
At this point he’s losing because the media is making this the centerpiece or his campaign. On the flip side, you could use the issue like Trump used the Birther issue to get press time. He’s not on the wrong side of the issue, but he does need to clarify himself!

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 2:44pmHere is my take. Cain meant what he said the first time. He really is nervous about having a Muslim in his cabinet. And I don’t think he is wrong in what he said. Presidents should pick people that they trust fully and whether anyone likes it or not the theology of the cabinet members matter. The problem Cain ran into is that 75% of the population (including many conservatives like Beck) are functionally universalists. Universalists believe that all faiths are basically good and that no faith is intrinsically better than another.
Universalism is wrong. Regardless of what you believe Islam and Christianity cannot be equal. If Muslims are right, Christians are idolaters (worshiping a man, Jesus, as though he is God). If Christians are right, Muslims are idolaters because they worship another god (not the Triune God of the Bible). Someone is right and someone is wrong. Further, the morals of the Koran are different than the morals of the Bible. Up and down the line whether you are a Muslim or a Christian you have to admit….**THE TWO FAITHS ARE NOT EQUAL**.
But Cain, realizing his position was in the minority (even among conservatives), has decided to bail on his true feelings. I think this is a mistake. If people like Cain, they like him because they think he is a straight shooter. Backtracking on a very clear statement makes you look like another politician….like Romney.

Posted on June 19, 2011 at 4:19pmAs for the Patriot Act, Dr. Paul pointed out that it was really little more than the central government taking advantage of the American public’s fear of more terrorism following 9/11 to pass a great deal of legislation that had been desired by those in power for years. Calling it “an atrocious piece of legislation,” he observed that nobody had read it in full. No one in Congress knew everything that was in it. It was passed, nevertheless, just days following the 9/11 attacks because “we needed to do something.” With its federalization of such things as search warrants, it essentially gutted the Fourth Amendment. The Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003 – dubbed “Patriot II” – would have been worse, with its original version expanding the central government’s wiretapping authority and allowing authorities to come onto your property without a warrant and without even informing you they had been there. The contents of Patriot II were leaked via the Internet, and its enormous unpopularity killed it, but again, what those in power want was sneaked into new bills such as the almost unknown Intelligence Authorization Agreement of 2004 (H.R. 2417). This new bill, originally introduced right around the time of the hoopla surrounding Saddam’s capture, allows the federal government to snoop around in citizens’ financial records The central government of the post-9/11 world also wants to know what websites you have visited http://www.lewrockwell.com/yates/yates9

Do you have any clue how many muslims are in America?
How many do you think are thinking of killing you, and why haven’t they did it already? They have all the opportunity in the world… they have access to all kinds of firearms due to the 2nd Amendment…
Why haven’t muslims been killing Americans left and right, indiscriminately?
Because they are not your enemies, and they aren’t thinking about that crap.
The FEDS are the ones who want you disarmed and vulnerable so they can progress the Police State. If the muslims wanted you dead forreal, there would be a lot more dead people than the false-flag terror attacks perpetrated by the FEDS.

Sure all can be alone and without the other but to really make it work you need them all. To look at the math and see how often one is without the other and how often all are together would tell anyone with even a small amount of reason that odds are they are all together in a disproportionate amount of times. All have the same goals or Sum the furthering of Islam it is only the means that may change and many time the money from one works with the other to push in directions that are not acceptable in the main stream but also not condonable ether.

I’ve been living in the urban dystopia being harassed by Nazi Police State Goons you like to call police officers. They‘ve been sticking their hands down people’s pants for decades, and most people have been loath to say anything about it outside of the urban community. Now all of a sudden everybody is up in arms over the TSA goons doing it to them in the airport, soon to be “doing it” to them on the streets of America everywhere. Pearl Harbor was allowed by our government just like 9-11 was perpetrated by our government. They interned Asians in “FEMA CAMPS” then, too.
Your own government is perpetrating false flag terror against it’s populace. If you can’t see that, you’ll see it soon when the TSA VIPR squads are on your streets, and start confiscating weapons under a pretext after the government perpetrates more false flag terror against police and “soft targets”.

Oh, yeah, Cain – Can IS mis-understood. His heart is exactly in the right place. He is “every man.” He speaks his mind. Sometimes he gets clumsy in his phrasing. Sometimes his gut instinct is a little more visible than ideal for a politician. However, that is his appeal – he is NOT a politician. He is a GET THE JOB DONE man.
The lame-stream media would have a field day with his speeches if he is elected president. So, that is a concern. Internationally, they would use his words against him as well. THOSE are my biggest concerns about electing Cain. Otherwise, I am attracted to his common-sence, get-’er-done, take-no-prisoners M.O.
He has Chief Executive experience. How many other candidates can say that? obummer certainly can’t! his experience was “community organizer” – that’s like putting “I sold girl scout cookies” on a resumee for CEO of GE. WHAT A JOKE he turned out to be!
