The Twitter hashtag “NBCFail” has gained steam since the Olympics opened last week. In fact, one journalist has been suspended for too much criticism on the social networking platform. And if ever you needed an example as to why that idea is taking off, here it is.
NBC didn’t help its cause on Monday night by airing a promo for the “Today” show showing 100M backstroke winner (and 17-year-old phenom) Missy Franklin with her gold medal. The only problem? NBC had not yet aired the gold-medal race, and in fact had just teased it as coming up. Twitter quickly erupted. Business Insider caught the flub:

Posted on August 1, 2012 at 5:34pmWhat does it matter even if the united states wins a gold metal. You just have to understand that the person that one the metal didn’t actually win the metal some one one if for them. Like you didn’t build your business either right. WRONG as he would have it, He has an answer for everything. Dam WRONG again.

Posted on July 31, 2012 at 3:53pmYou expect the management “experts” who hired li’l Chrissie Mattresspad, Rachel Maddog, Ed Schultz, Tourettes, and THAT gang of idjuts to make fools of themselves and miselad those wno are living under the mistaken impression that the “news’ media is telling the truth. That hasn’t happened since before LBJ, and has only gotten worse since the coronation (by the press and TV) of Odildo the Mad.

Posted on July 31, 2012 at 7:56amIt took NBC .4 seconds to make me want to puke with the olympics yet again. I’m stuck watching preliminary heats, and preliminary gymnastics, while people compete for medals in other sports. All prevented from being live. Let alone the ridiculous commercials.

Posted on July 31, 2012 at 7:53amHow can you know the winner if the race hasn’t happened? And if it has happened, how can you expect the winner not to get out – in this day with Twitter and all the social media available – how is it possible that news won’t leak? What I find egregious is that there are news cites – that I once really respected – like CNN that put up the words on the screen when people are talking, yet the words appear before the person says them and the segment is labeled as “live.” Either it‘s not live or they’re making up news.
