Usually on large commercial jets there is first class, business class and coach. On Singapore Airline‘s A380 there’s an even more luxurious category to be corralled in — if you can afford it. It’s the suite level.

So much like a flying hotel suite — but scaled down for size — the private rooms offer a stand alone twin bed that, when you’re ready for shut eye, comes with a turndown service. This isn’t your ordinary chair converted into bed situation either. The over-sized hand-stitched chairs by Italian craftsmen Poltrona Frau are a completely separate deal. The fact that the bed and chair are separate is something the airline says is a first in air travel.

While you’re lying on your bed, you also have your own 23-inch LCD screen to entertain you.

Should you dine in the suites, you’ll be served with Givenchy tableware and crystal stemware.
The only thing the rooms are missing are private bathrooms, although the airline does provide toiletries.
Just how much will a stay in one of these suites set you back? From New York to Singapore, for example, you’ll have to fork over nearly $16,000.
Check out the video tour of the suites here.

Posted on June 14, 2012 at 4:12pmI thought this article was going to be about Air Force One. Damn!!! Still Singapore is way cheaper to operate than Air Force One. Have they replaced the engines on that plane yet??? If so, how many times??

(she can wear her J CREW outfit) haha Remember THAT line? I bet she still only shops there and Wal Mart, right? She’s IS one of “US” after all. :)

Report Post »Then reality sets in…. and they realise they can put 12 seats into that same space… and sell eacg of those seats at $1800 each… and more often.

Posted on June 14, 2012 at 9:11amWe lived in Asia for many years and always tried our hardest to book flights on Singapore Air.
They were the cleanest, roomiest, ON TIME!!!– and the staff was polite and helpful!
So, it’s to surprise that they would provide this exceptional service for those who can afford it.
