See The Video That Moveon.Org Thinks Could Stop Mitt Romney Getting Elected

Back when Glenn Beck used to be on Fox News, liberals complained all the time that the host was using his platform to persuade Americans of insane conspiracy theories linking disconnected instances of Leftist maneuvering together into a massive network of malevolence. Beck, the charges went, was intentionally poisoning the minds of politically sympathetic listeners by drawing ever-more insane connections between political figures, all in the guise of educating his viewers, even going so far as to do it using an actual educational tool. Namely, a blackboard.

Beck, of course, wasn’t doing this. But it was fascinating all the same to watch the Left high-mindedly huff and puff that no one on their side would ever do something as silly as try to demonize ideological opponents using absurd caricatures and thin evidence all under the guise of education. Spouting silly conspiracy theories in front of a blackboard? Come on, who does that?

Well, Beck doesn’t. But apparently Moveon.org does, if this video put out by the site is any guide:

Yes, that’s right, Moveon.org thinks they’ve figured out the evil, secret Republican plan to take over the White House and destroy that noble apostle of the rights of the people, Barack Obama. According to Moveon.org, that plan has three prongs, and they are as folows:

1. Sabotage the economy and blame it on Obama

2. Use rich peoples’ money to spread lies about Obama

3. Suppress minority voters using Voter ID laws

And this, according to Moveon, is a plan that has been spread all across the GOP and has been the intention behind every piece of Republican legislation pretty much since the 2008 election. The idea that the GOP has a different governing philosophy or actually thinks its particular brand of fiscal medicine is the right one is completely lost on MoveOn. For them, pure, anti-Obama malevolence and lust for power must be what‘s behind the GOP’s actions.

If they had rock solid evidence for this argument, it probably would keep Mitt Romney from winning the election. The problem is, they have the opposite of rock solid evidence. What they do have are a few, isolated quotes from Republican politicians, a heaping helping of innuendo and a suite of misleading figures. For instance, the video above claims that conservative organizations have outspent liberal ones. While this is technically true, it overlooks the fact that the Obama campaign is currently outspending the Romney campaign in most of the key states, and also the fact that not all money spent by conservative groups or liberal groups is going towards the Presidential campaign. Nuance, however, is no friend of Moveon.org.

Then there is the fact that Moveon.org can’t even get the basic facts right in the video. For instance, they refer to “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell” in one of their scare quotes, as if to suggest that McConnell is actually in charge of the majority in the United States Senate. In fact, McConnell is the Senate Minority leader. Harry Reid is the Senate Majority leader. This is a small point, but an important one, since the fact that the Democrats still control one of the houses of Congress means they can‘t be absolved of blame for Congress’ inaction. Moreover, unlike the mistake made by GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney in which Romney called Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan “the next President of the United States,” this mistake occurs in a scripted video, suggesting either that Moveon is unfamiliar with the concept of using multiple takes when an actor screws up his or her lines, or wrote this mistake into the script. And if they did write it into the script, that raises the question of whether they knew it was false or simply didn’t care.

Either way, there is no doubt that this video is not the video that will stop Mitt Romney from winning the White House. In fact, given the abject failure of its messaging, it may even help him by showcasing the desperation of Romney’s opponents.

      The thing that impressed me most was the clear admission that they are losing.

      The lies and innuendo are obvious, but that admission alone is telling, especially at this relatively early stage.

      I now work @ a gas/mini mart. Here is what I see the taxpayers are up against. An early 20′s white male who is on welfare. Says he is unable to find a job. When I asked WHEN he last looked; he said nothing would (um how should i say this) pay as well as WELFARE. He also thought the Food Stamps portion should pay for cigarettes and alcohol, so that he could spend HIS cash on other things.

      Patty Henry it wasn’t Soros that tried to tank the American dollar in 2008. That was done by some of Dear Leaders closest friends the Muslims. It was a direct attack on Americas financial system that came very close to working.

There is a scene toward the end of the movie where Major Powers ( obama ) is shi*canned and his staff nco Webster( all of o’s minions ) has no place to go and stands around looking stupid. Eastwood’s character (USA) just sits there with a satisfying smile on his face This scene came to mind and makes a great analogy of what I hope to see in November.

      Amazingly, some believe this load of crap. Poor Obama. My neighbor is a blame Bush guy, and routinely calls him the dumbest President we have ever had, meanwhile, Obama is the smartest by far. I love to ask him how the smartest guy in the world, is somehow, unable to undo one thing the dumbest guy in the world did. How could George have been so incredibly influential that the smartest, greatest, mostest, bestest President ever cannot undo one thing he did. I then switch to another tact, and ask him when the last time he balanced his check book? How can our country accurately calculate how much money we owe, when we have not done a budget in almost four years? This guy is pathetic, an exactly what i expected he would do. Now are we going to get it right this time? I for one sure hope so. Donate soon and donate often. The thing about the I.D.’s is amazing. For us in Washington State who are military, our state passed a law saying it was too much work to send out ballots to the deployed soldiers and sailors from our state. Yet everyone has an ID in the country or else you cannot exist. Come on, who do they think they are talking to. If you do not have an ID, you cannot do anything in this country so this is a non issue. I have had an ID since I was 10, and use it for everything. It is just the left wanting to commit voter fraud, and this ID thing makes it harder.

I have to assume that the poor girl was just given a script to read and didn’t know what she was talking about. A little bit of research would have shown that she was expected to recite a script of lies. We should pray for her. Shame on them.

      The bad news is someone is sending a list of states (14) to us registered Democrats that you can register from and get an absentee ballot and vote before Nov. It even gives due date before those states cut off absentee voting. I wrote to 2 states and got the applications to register and they sent them to Oklahoma without asking why I was here. I looked them over and decided that if I was dishonest I could have voted there along with my wife also. This smells of ACORN. It came in the form of junk mail and I only opened it to see if they had a pre stamped or registered mailing label so I could send it back and support the Postal Service that is about to go under. I do this all the time if I don ;t have to use one ov my stamps.

      I managed to handle about 2 minutes, because I initially thought the girl was kinda cute, but the more she talked, the more I felt sick to my stomach….. LOL. They seem to be misguided in thinking that those of us who actually take the time to inform themselves (most all conservatives) will be swayed by what looks like something that was vomited on a chalk board. What a load of crap. What amazes me in all of their lies is their general inability to produce a straight line of cohesive thought. It’s like what you hear from most liberal talking heads ….. notice lately that they can’t seem to talk fast enough? No matter what they’re arguing they try to stuff in as much trash talk as possible w/o bothering to think about anything they’re saying.       What in there isn’t? The democrats screwed the economy in 2007, not Bush. Mitt put his dog on the top of his car in a pet carrier designed to be carried on the top of a car in a luggage wrack, he didn’t tie the dog to the top of his car as they picture. This is like blaming someone in the 50′s for going to a segregated school, or doctor, guess what there were laws, written by democrats, passed by democrats after they impeached enough republicans that were blocking them, to get them passed that mandated schools, doctors, restaurants, water fountains, hospitals to be segregated. The only people suppressing votes is the democrats, when they block the military from voting. Requiring an ID, so dead people don’t vote, so felons don’t vote, so people don’t vote in multiple places, isn‘t suppressing a single person’s right to vote.

      I went to the Huffpo because there was a link there form vladtepes dot com. Iread read the story on the Muslim riots in France. the riots are not as bad as the 2005, but still, we have them. We are lucky to get a report as the government of France suppresses reports.

      I scrolled down to look a t the comments. Judging form the them the left is losing ground. A marine poster had way more followers than the avowed communist. Comments were trending in a decided non leftists manner.

      Anyway encinom jeep drinking the kool aid. We need an example for our children of what not to do. & you are it.

    It still all comes down to this-are you better off than you were when Obama became president? I speak of better off in more ways than just money. Are you better off as an American, safer, more protected, and less interferred within your life by government? Honestly answer the question and you know how to vote. I know for myself I am not better off, and the chances are quicky dropping for my kids, grandkids and the baby great grands to have as good of quality of life as I have enjoyed for 67 years.
