SEIU Launches ‘Off a Cliff’ Ad Bashing GOP, Conservatives Respond with ‘Spenditol’

SEIU Launches New Ad Bashing GOP, Conservative Ad Responds with ‘Spenditol’SEIU is at again, this time jumping on the debt-ceiling bandwagon with the liberal advocacy group, Americans United for Change, to launch a new ad campaigning targeting GOP lawmakers for “driving” ordinary Americans “off a cliff.”  Now where have we witnessed that metaphor before?

The ad, that one could argue lacks originality, depicts a “reckless” driver’s viewpoint as he burns rubber up a winding mountain pass at top gear, barely navigating the hairpin turns before, eventually, barreling through the guardrail and off the side of the cliff.

The message, predictably, is that Republicans are reckless with ordinary American’s futures while only caring about protecting fat cat millionaires, oil companies, and CEO’s who “fly around in private jets.”

While the ad targets the GOP as a whole, Rep. Sean Duffy and Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp were two Republicans the SEIU ad singled out specifically for attack.

Below is the ad that reportedly launched in four Republican House districts:

Meanwhile, the conservative Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee, launched a campaign of its own, this one a satire on pharmaceutical ads.

The Blaze Blog posted the ad for “Spenditol” on Wednesday, in which the spot opens with a woman lamenting the difficulties in her life that were assuaged when she discovered a new “miracle drug” made in Washington, D.C.  Spenditol, according to the ad, is the District’s answer for how to borrow $800 billion for a stimulus that “didnt create jobs,“ nor ”improve the economy.”

The ad asserts Spenditol “makes you feel better now” by pushing off the “really bad stuff” for later, when, presumably, future generations can “deal with” it.

But the drug Spenditol does not come without its side effects. According to the ad, the drug may cause a “mountain of government debt piled on our kids, a sudden loss of freedoms, higher prices for everything…”

Still, the ad urges viewers to “ask your doctor or congressman if your conscience is strong enough for Spenditol.”

The $1.2 million ad buy is allegedly set to run nationally on cable and locally in Florida, Montana, Nebraska and Ohio — four states where incumbent Democratic senators reportedly face a tough road ahead.

Hey union members, are you happy that your union bosses are spending hundreds of millions of your union dues on ad campaigns and election campaigns instead of putting your money into retirement funds?

Here’s a thought for the idiots in Washington. Just go ahead and give each working American who actually pays taxes a million dollars. And the taxpayer teat would be no more. Give back to the people who have paid in and privatize. it beats the snot out of going more in debt with bailouts that cannot be tracked for effectiveness, doesn’t it? They don‘t know what’s best and clearly, aren’t learning from past mistakes.

Over the cliff with grandma, and now accusing the Republicans doing the same to the country, because of Representative Ryan budget proposal, and “Cut,Cap, and Balance”. The MSM, SEIU, and progressives are OKAY with President Obama’s fear mongering, lack of leadership, and no budget plan of his own.

It seems to me those people who‘re eating from the trough now don’t realize they will be the first to be hurt by the downfall of the American economy. No more giveaway programs, no more freebees. Don’t you smug people get what might happen if we continue down this road?

The white house and congress has spent 14 TRILLION dollars than it has to spend, and when people try to stop this, in any other business, illegal act, the Dems come out and say that the people trying to stop this are killing America.
Make no mistake, recovering from this will be hard.

I think what the Communists/SEIU, (communists first), are trying so very artfully to portray
is that union workers drive with the brakes on and as slowly as possible to get more overtime and gouge the employer for as much dues/cash (dues first) as possible
to send to the communist/democrat,(communist first again) party as possible.
Anyway SEIU, keep spending your members money for nonsense like this add.
    Hope it cost a million.

I wish someone would sit down with SEIU and explain that it is they who are helping run up the debt with misleading ads like this and the kickbacks they get in the form of government grants (tax payer funded efforts to re-elect Obama). The SEIU to me is like the big dumb jock back in high school. He bullied his way through high school, had an even dumber cheerleader girlfriend, barely graduated and works at the corner 7-Eleven. They have the most sophomoric view of how government actually works and like all progressives learned to put their hand out before learning to speak.

wow, the unions strong armed the members again,by forcing everyone to give up another $10.00 so the unions bosses could reelect obama and elect democrats so that they can continue their communist push. if we really want the commies gone,we must donate money to every republican who is of the same morals and values as us, we cannot let the left control the media this time and we cannot let them out smart us,we must give to ad campaigns, candidates,so that whom ever we chose has the same fire power as the commies, people this is a war,a war for freedom and we must not lost or we will be just like most countries ,run by union communist thugs, please, find something or someone to help, volunteer,or send money, please get involved, don’t just talk, it is now time to put in the labor and start to walk the walk.the left and their cronies will not rest until they have destroyed our great nation, so we must get in the war and defend our rights and freedoms.

WOW – unions want everything at the expense of everyone else. Taxpayers – cough it up. Successful business people cough it up.

People were okay with unions once upon a time and they were needed during the time of sweatshops.

    Now, it’s just greed.

Businesses can’t be blamed for taking their bucks out of the country. They’re being driven out at this point. The same goes for job creators. Why the heck would you want to stay here, invest here, and so on if you just get punished for turning one dollar into two or ten.

Keep it up unions and Lefties – there will eventually be nothing for you to grab.

I would expect this type of demeanor from people like the ones that glittered Bachmann’s husbands office. Not the people that are suppose to keep this country running.
