SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California GOP Senate challenger Carly Fiorina is in the hospital to be treated for an infection associated with her reconstructive surgery after breast cancer.
Deborah Bowker, the campaign’s chief of staff, says in a statement issued Tuesday that Fiorina was admitted to a hospital and is being treated with antibiotics. The campaign will not say when or where she was admitted.
Fiorina, who is 56, fought breast cancer before her run against Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer. The former Hewlett-Packard Co. CEO has maintained a busy campaign schedule in the final weeks of the race.
Bowker says Fiorina has canceled Tuesday campaign events in Riverside and Coachella. She says she expects Fiorina to return to the campaign trail soon.

God gave us free will so that we could be his companions. To do otherwise would have been to make us slaves. It is OUR choice, on aggregate, that makes the problems in the world, besides which, the problems aren’t in and of themselves anything more than an absence of God in our lives. It’s like darkness and light. Darkness is nothing more than the absence of light. All of our pain, suffering and sadness results from our turning away from God, turning away from the light. That always results in darkness. Then we whine about why God allows this to happen. We CHOSE it.
God could snuff the devil and eliminate sin in the blink of an eye, but that would negate our free will, which would, in turn, make us incapable of true companionship.
