Senate Confirms General David Petraeus as CIA Director

Senate Confirms General David Petraeus as CIA DirectorGen. David Petraeus has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the nation’s next Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director. Petraeus will replace Leon Panella, who has gone on to become the new secretary of defense. BBC has more:

Gen Petraeus, commander of Nato forces in Afghanistan, was nominated for the CIA by President Barack Obama in April.

Gen Petraeus, 58, is widely admired across party lines in the US.

Analysts lauded his co-operation with the CIA in Afghanistan, where he was known for his use of CIA intelligence.

A 37-year veteran of the US Army, Petraeus has been given accolades and credit for his work in turning around the U.S.-led Iraq war. The general was sent to the war-torn nation by President George W. Bush back in 2007.

Petraeus, who won the Senate’s approval in a 94 to 0 vote, is expected to start his position in September.

Something smells fishy…. While I agree Petraeus is an honorable man and extremely qualified for the position, its out of character for the emperor… This just isn‘t Obama’s style…. Remember folks, watch the left hand too… may either be a distraction or Petraeus is being set up. I pray God will be with him and protect him from Obama.

Watch the news closely as this may be a smoke screen to distract us

step one: Remove war fighter from military equation
step two: Insert partisan hack into military equation
step three: Wait for the consequences
step four: Blame former warfighter for leaving situation to partisan hack, who couldn’t possibly prevent or forsee said consequences

The CIA is long overdue for a real-world experienced leader like Petreaus instead of a long line of career bureaucrat PsOS like Panetta whose leadership experience has been to drift from one department to another.

I am surprised that by now everyone would not have any doubts about anyone that is backed by the Obama admin…including this general. Everyone…and I mean everyone so far that has been put in place by Obama and friends have turned out to have questionable motives. This general and the whole Betrayus garbage from the left was nothing more than a ploy to get people on the right to later accept their, “Obama’s” choice for this position. Once again, we have been duped. Just wait and see.

Does reading the news lead you to believe you actually know what’s going on in America? Here are 5 things you’re most likely wrong about.

You never heard of Sarah Palin before she was announced as McCain’s running mate. If you believe that her name is really Sarah Palin, you’re wrong.

Palin and McCain said they were going to reform Washington. If you think they were going to do this by getting elected, you’re wrong.

Obama disappeared for 2 weeks after winning the election only to reappear looking exhausted sitting next to a John McCain, with a bad poker face, for a press photo shoot. If you believe Obama has free will and the feds aren’t writing his teleprompter, you’re wrong.

If you believe that we caught Bin Laden immediately following the release of Obama’s birth certificate, you’re wrong.

If you believe that the feds haven’t recruited editors, journalists, and moderators, to write the headlines and control the commenting on major news sites in an effort to suppress this information, you’re wrong.

The fourth of July is quickly approaching. If you love our country and want to live in a free democratic society do not hesitate to share the following story. Share it with others at websites such as; Mediaite, Politico, The Daily Beast, The Huffington Post, The Daily Caller, Raw Story, The Blaze, Time, and all other major media websites.

This is what our federal government doesn’t want leaking out

I see obama is still trying to keep Petraeus busy so he can’t run against him. There is one person he does not want to run against in a presidential election.

To be honest, I don’t know these guys very well; but I do know that everything the Dems do is political — plus I am very suspicious of the CIA and the generals now — the ones who seem to always think war is the answer. There are many. We need more with wisdom like Pres. Eisenhower (R) who was the brilliance behind winning WWII. He was against nation building and going into Vietnam. He would be against going into Afghan & Libya — not staying in Iraq. He was very worried that after he left, there would be Presidents who didn’t have the wisdom/experience/confidence to make wise decisions re when to go to war and to be able to say “no” to the Generals who did. And lo and behold – JFK (D) got us into Vietnam & Johnson continued – Nixon (R) got us out. Re Panetta – think he’s the one responsible for the killing of OBL (which I like), not Obama. But don‘t know how he’ll be in the future.

      Indeed well done General.

I hope that no major events happen that will result in blame being placed upon his shoulders as he comes into office in the first few days. Somehow, this smells of a set up from the Obama admin to use him as a conveinent scape goat – say if the Muslum Brotherhood rises to power in Egypt or a regional war – say Israel is attacked, or one brewing on the Syrian – Turkey border.
