Senate Repeals Bans on Sodomy and Bestiality in the Military

The U.S. Senate voted Thursday to approve a defense authorization bill which included a provision that not only repealed the military ban on sodomy, but also repealed the ban on having sex with animals — or bestiality.
CNS News reported:
On Nov. 15, the Senate Armed Services Committee had unanimously approved S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act, which includes a provision to repeal Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
Article 125 of the UCMJ makes it illegal to engage in both sodomy with humans and sex with animals.
It states: “(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense. (b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
The vote to remove sodomy from military law comes less than a year after President Barack Obama’s repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy for gay soldiers.
Tony Perkins, president of the conservative Family Research Council, said there’s a definite link between the repeal of DADT and the repeal of the sodomy law.
“It’s all about using the military to advance this administration’s radical social agenda,” Perkins told CNS News. “Not only did they overturn Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, but they had another problem, and that is, under military law sodomy is illegal, just as adultery is illegal, so they had to remove that prohibition against sodomy.”
Perkins said removing the bestiality provision may have been intentional — or it may just have been “collateral damage.”
Former Army Col. Bob Maginnis told CNS News some military lawyers have indicated bestiality could be prosecuted under another section of the military code of justice — Article 134, for offenses against “good military order and discipline.” It’s not a sure bet, though.
“If we have a soldier who engages in sodomy with an animal — whether a government animal or a non-government animal — is it, in fact, a chargeable offense under the Uniform Code? I think that’s in question,” Maginnis said. “Soldiers, unfortunately, like it or not, have engaged in this type of behavior in the past. Will they in the future, if they remove this statute? I don’t know.”
The bill, which passed 93-7, now goes to a conference committee to be reconciled with the House of Representatives’ version of the bill. According to Perkins, the House version reinforced the Defense of Marriage Act, saying that there is a military Defense of Marriage Act as well, prohibiting same-sex marriage on military bases.
“And now this is an added concern, that sodomy has been removed, and as we have discovered, that bestiality — the prohibition against it — has been removed from the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So yes, the House will have problems with this bill,” Perkins predicted.

And the US empire continues its slide into uncontrolled deterioration. These are the last days of the Roman Empire–Redux.
The economic fiasco will be the precurser to wars throughout the world, but they will be pushed also by this ongoing moral degeneration and the multiculural hordes who come to mooch for freebies and pursue crimes that are more profitable here than where they come from. And it is the loss of morality and incompetence in an ever deteriorating government that will prompt many people to fight to destroy this entire generation of evil influences.
Good riddance to a government steeped in political correctness and other perversions.

I served 6 years and never even heard of anything like that happening until I read this story but you group a few with all. Are all women whores because a few are? If they would only step the #@$@# back and let the economy purge and heal itself we might still have a country left. Instead they cram these moral laws down our throats and regurgitate phrases like “create jobs” of which they can not actually do because for governent to create one job it has to take money from the taxpayer, thus realistically the taxpayer created the job because without the money the job would have been impossible to create. At the end of the day all a law is, is ink and paper of which people everyday make a conscious decision as free thinking adults whether to follow laws or break them (Have you ever sat at a redlight at 3 AM wondering why your sitting there looking like an idiot because theres no traffic so you just cruise on through?). Let’s put it this way: I can guarantee you that the vast majority of people in uniform are using donkey d!cks to move fuel from fuel cans into fuel tanks, not as objects of pleasure.
The problem that 95% of soldiers are going to have is simply this: the fact that these sexual deviants in Congress are forcing their “death of all morality” on the troops.

If that is true, it puts a whole new light on things. I get people not wanting to be in the military to avoid getting harmed. But that is a far cry from using them as pawns. To use the military as pawns is way beyond disrespect of even treating someone as a 2nd class citizen.

As my screen name says, I too have been very proud my kid is in the military, but as I watch all this administration and the libs in general are doing or trying to do to the military, I find myself praying more and more that God will protect that soldier from his/her (not going to specify) own government, and the effort to destroy our military from withing. This article is just one more aspect of that effort. I truly think they’re trying to get all the truly Patriotic, (especially Christian) military with consciences to resign, so they can do whatever they want using the military budget and armaments.

I think you missed my point. I despise what the administration is doing to our military, however I would still be proud if even 1 of my 3 sons served. I know a ridiculous repeal from our Senate puts us one step closer to a Socialist regime but I have faith in our military that 99.9% of the men and women who serve in our military have never even thought of that (bestiality).

I served my country proudly and I may have interpreted Smackdown’s words incorrectly but I would still be proud to have one of my boys serve this country. I have read post about the military “liberalizing” so they can come after us. I would hope other vets who served share my thoughts in that our brave soldiers, seaman, and airmen could not do that. It is still a purely voluntary service and although some may join strictly for the the college benefit of the GI bill they still join knowing the possible consequences. The largest military in the world is the US citizen thanks to our 2nd Amendment. I still carry the faith that our men and women in our military share the values of freedom that we all enjoy. Our military is no match for the US civilian population. It’s just not. Now everyone should get scared when the 2nd Amendment is infringed upon. I hear more and more of it each day but I can still buy a firearm and ammo to use in it. Thank God!

Couldn’t have said it better myself. This is just anothr example of the radical left in Washington attempting to methodically destroy this country piece by piece. The target this time is the military. First it was burning Bibles, then not allowing our soldiers to fire unless they can prove the enemy has a gun, next reversing DADT and now allowing sodomy and beastality. The goal is to demoralize our soldiers and embolden our enemies. The method? Take away our faith and pride and tie one hand behind our backs in battle. They use rules, regulations and laws to plant the cancer, then just sit back and watch as it destroys from within. Our current government is by far the most dangerous enemy to our republic.

Actually, those rights are given to us by GOD, not any man. The troops defend those rights, but they do not give them. My husband is a disabled vet and I appreciate our troops as much as anyone, but they are not God.

Well, you come across accurately on some things now and then, and this is one of them.
The vast, vast majority of people in the military are decent upstanding people who are a cut above the average citizen. They should be admired and respected.
The culprits here are the usual ones: The politicians and out-of-touch brass in the Pentagon whose morals and ethics are on a level that’s usually reserved for the most decadant and dim-witted portion of society. It is this low quality of people that have taken over the government and military on the far left who are responsible for the inclusion of flakes, oddballs and kooks in the military, because they’re beset with some serious problems of their own besides stupidity and ignorance.
As in all failed empires, it is the self-appointed elites who first start the fall into societal decadence, which leads to government failure…… like sub-prime mortgages disasters, and acquiesence of perverts at every level…..and it filters down into the lower echelons which become corrupted and complete the final fall into destruction.
We’re in that stage right now. The empire is falling, and the ongoing financial disaster will complete the process.

You both seem to think this is exclusively an issue of morality. The left and the homosexual community in general have worked very hard to make you think this way. In fact it is VERY MUCH a health issue. Do just a little research into the myriad health risks resulting from that behavior, and learn how dangerous and avoidable those consequences are. The military does a grave disservice to the health and well-being of troops by removing (or changing) this article of code.

Because that is what we do in the US of A. We try to legislate about bedroom activities, abortions, and marriages, and constantly discuss our leaders and celebrities various activities on the basis of our own moral code. Just leave others alone that do not hurt you and worry about yourselves.
