Last Fall we reported on billionaire Donald Trump’s possible 2012 Presidential run and today another shoe has dropped as Mr. Trump will be a last minute addition to CPAC.
This announcement follows a Trump appearance on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight where the outspoken developer-turned-TV-star made no effort to temper his thoughts on America and our relationship with the China, OPEC, and so much more. Donald Trump is seriously considering a run for the White House in 2012, but will not officially announce his intentions until this summer. Some think this appearance today at CPAC has tipped his hand.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 11:12amI hope he does run for President…
Report Post »And, I wouldn’t object voting for him – if the choice is between him and the handful of others that we already know are going to run.
Either way, Trump would be EXCELLENT in heading up the Foreign Exchange/Business Development Division, in any Administration.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 11:09amI’d give a very long and very hard look at Trump. The fact that he wants to impose tariffs on China makes me gleeful. An enemy of China is most certainly a friend of mine. Unlike the current dictator, having someone that actually understands business and actually likes this country would go a long way as well.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 10:57amThere is no doubt in my mind that a strong willed business person who already is familiar with wealth and power would be a viable candidate. Clearly, our current administration is way to wrapped up in the camera and applause. To re-establish American Exceptionalism in the world and even within the country itself would be second nature to Mr. Trump. My concern would be the the nonsense that would ensue within the American and foreign press unable to separate the candidate from the celebrity. On a lighter note, Malania would know better than to pose at a state dinner for a Chinese head of state with the left strap of her gown hanging down like piece of limp whole-wheat, whole-grain, no salt, no sugar pasta.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 10:23amHe certainly does seem to qualify as someone who wouldn’t be afraid to teach conservatism – which is how we’re eventually going to turn this country around. Most people – including many self-described liberals – are conservative. They just don’t realize it. It’ll take someone willing to patiently and fearlessly explain the philosophy to win back what used to be called “Reagan Democrats.”

We are in financial hcll in this country and I think Trump has the spine to make the hard choices that it takes to turn us around. He wouldn’t care if people were upset over the policies that need to be made to get us back on track. He is also not going to tremble in fear at the mention of China or keep kowtowing to OPEC. He would get my vote for president, we don’t need another media star, we need someone who has a strong business mind.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 10:24amBankers Received Letters Last Week re Deposit boxes
According to a source Bankers and their technical staff have received letters from the government telling them that the gov has a right to go into and confiscate contents of deposit boxes of their customers without a warrant, covering all types of items including gold, silver and documents deemed suspicious or likely to cause civil unrest or other spurious classifications. This most likely I am told falls under the vast provisions of the Patriot Act.
I have not seen any news articles about this but you can be sure that this could cause a run on the banks from safe deposit box holders — the likes of which banks have not seen, if true.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 10:47amTrump’s best role is that of a siren — like Sarah Palin. Let him agitate from the sidelines, highlighting political mischief, rather than as our Leader.
He has a long history of using people and getting into petty fights with those who disagree with him. (Who remembers his tit-for-tat with Martha Stewart a couple of years ago? Incredibly immature.)
No! No! No! This guy is NOT presidential material.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 12:19pm@freedomfighter A couple of weeks ago, around the time the court first said Rahm couldn’t run, I was listening to the radio and there was a AP news report that came on during the regular break and said that Rahm had raised a bunch of $ (can’t remember the amount) ‘with the help of big hollywood, so and so, Donald Trump, etc.’ I just know his name jumped out because he had just been on Fox talking about how he might run. I was already leary of him considering he had supported Obama but that pretty much sealed my opinion that he was not trustworthy to run as a Rep.

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 12:49pmDO NOT VOTE FOR TRUMP 2012!
He is willing to abandon the concept of free trade to “stick it” to the Chinese, but that will just screw with the markets.
Stop government regulations, and leave the “regulating” to the courts – What happened to “innocent until proven guilty in a court of law”? When America gets back to the Constitutional principles of individual liberty and the free market, people will WANT to keep their businesses here.
It‘s not China’s fault that we regulate our businesses so hard that they pack up and go elsewhere.
Trump is very bad for America.

Why do you think Obama wants the value of the Yuan to rise? It is so the Chinese can buy the USA easier and import Socialism. The Chinese are actively buying US businesses, land, and resources in the US so that they can start putting Made in USA on their products migrate their people and eventually take over to enslave the American people! Soon the illegals, Muslims, and Chinese will all be fighting over American slaves once they complete their invasion of this country that we are allowing to happen!

Posted on February 10, 2011 at 2:30pmNot a Trump fan but he is right on China. The whole world is bowing to their will, including refusing to allow the Dalai Lama as a visitor. They are getting away with the wholesale theft of entire industry technology, which is why their military is now on par with ours. China has now stopped buying our debt to buying EU debt. This peels the EU away from the US and leaves our Fed holding a lot of Tbill notes they can’t sell. Get ready for a dollar collapse. Glenn is right — it will happen probably this year.
