Senior POLITICO Reporter Suspended Over Racial Comments About Mitt Romney on MSNBC

POLITICO announced Friday morning it has suspended its senior White House correspondent following some racist remarks he made about GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney while appearing on MSNBC’s “Bashir Live” Thursday afternoon, saying he is only comfortable around other “white folks” who are like him, like the cast of “Fox and Friends” apparently.
Here‘s what POLITICO’s Joe Williams said to Martin Bashir on Thursday:
It’s very interesting that he does so many appearances on Fox & Friends and it’s unscripted. It’s the only time they let Mitt off the leash, so to speak. But it also points out a larger problem he’s got to solve if he wants to be successful come this fall: Romney is very, very comfortable, it seems, with people who are like him. That’s one of the reasons why he seems so stiff and awkward in some town hall settings, why he can’t relate to people other than that. But when he comes on Fox & Friends, they’re like him. They’re white folks who are very much relaxed in their own company.
“Regrettably, an unacceptable number of Joe Williams’s public statements on cable and Twitter have called into question his commitment to this responsibility,” POLITICO’s founding editors John Harris and Jim VandeHei wrote in a staff memo, published on its website. “His comment about Governor Romney earlier today on MSNBC fell short of our standards for fairness and judgment in an especially unfortunate way.”
“Following discussion of this matter with editors, Joe has been suspended while we review the matter,” they continued. The founders also said POLITICO journalists have an “inflexible responsibility to cover politics fairly and free of partisan bias.”
Williams has reportedly declined to comment on his remarks.
POLITICO points out that the Washington Free Beacon was the first to post the video of Willams’ comments.
Watch Williams’ racially-charged comments here:
Breitbart.com points out that Williams’ statements on Thursday are hardly out of the ordinary for the White House correspondent. They were able to capture images of a series of his tweets in which he mocks Romney for his wealth, calls NASCAR racist and even makes a penis joke involving Ann Romney:
Though Williams eventually ended up getting suspended, this type of rhetoric is common among several political pundits when referring to Romney. They regularly depict him as a rich, out-of-touch white guy who can’t relate to regular people.
Surely everyone remembers earlier this week when NBC was caught selectively editing a clip of Mitt Romney when he was talking about a trip to a Wawa’s convenience store. The clip was aired on Andrea Mitchell’s MSNBC show. She never apologized, but later played part of the video she left out that helped give context.
To quote Mitchell herself, “It’s amazing.”

Posted on June 22, 2012 at 3:40pmThis dork is an AA hire who I‘m pretty sure couldn’t pass a high school GED test. That he was given his position just because he’s black makes his comments even more outrageous.
Is he so stupid as to believe he can intimidate the rank and file whites into accepting the leftist agenda, because he has seen how the white politicians and corporate greed mongers placate blacks when they do that?
The Klan probably absolutely loves this kind of racist attacks by those like him, because it does a lot to set whites against blacks….probably almost as much as black on white mob attacks. Both of them together is going to get them a giant ass-kickibng if they keep it up.
People are getting fed up and very close to the boiling point.
All that is necessary to verify that is to take a trip through the online forums and witness white rage first hand.
It’s not time yet, but it’s getting close.
The plummeting economy will be the trigger that sets it all off.

This is the same nonsense that never materialized while they criticized him for being out of touch at Wawa’s. I am also kind of amazed how Politico suspended someone for a clearly racist remark of pure assumption when they have been practicing such racism for years in defense of Obama’s rhetoric. All I want to know is where to find that deck of race cards they use.

Posted on June 22, 2012 at 4:49pmWhy do you have to court the black and latino vote? Why don’t these people want the same thing that is good for all Americans? Are they saying that blacks and latinos need special things? Why would people vote that way for their own certain race and not be concerned for equality under the law and freedom for all? Why do they vote for these people who give out hand outs? Do latinos think that we should just make everyone in the world citizens of the United States without going through the proper channels? What about the United States’ sovereignty? Don’t they care about the laws of the United States? If they don’t maybe we need to take a step back and look at what they are telling us? How can we live together if blacks and latinos stop filtering everything through their skin color? They are voting according to the race and that is just plain racism. Maybe its time white people really take a serious look at this issue? Maybe we shouldn’t keep trying to be fair if we are never going to break down those racist barriers in blacks and latinos minds. Maybe their racism is making them an enemy of peace and freedom and it must be addressed if this country is to survive?

Posted on June 22, 2012 at 1:00pmMary, Evangelicals just voted their first black president of the So Baptist Convention this year. At the turn of the century there were 4 million registered evangelicals with the KKK. There is no room for you to think that the LDS aren’t accepting of blacks. They have the largest membership of any denomination in Africa and two temples there. Joseph Smith baptized and ordained a black man to the priesthood. It wasn’t until Brigham Young that the priesthood was withheld, but there were blacks still being baptized. I would suspect that BY was influenced by his Protestant upbringing that the curse of Cain involved a blackness of skin and a barring to the priesthood, but we‘ll never know because BY isn’t here to clarify what he said. The good news is that those rulings no longer exist.

We’re suppose to ignore the fact that Planned Parenthood was created to kill off what Margret Sanger considered to be an inferior race, but we‘re suppose to have moral outrage because Mitt Romney belongs to a church that didn’t ordain black members until the 1970′s? Mitt has never said or did anything in his life that even hints at being racist. The reason you libs are having to twist yourselves into knots is because Mitt has lived such a clean life, unlike President Kardashian, an admitted cocaine user.

“Mr. Romney was brought up in a white supremacist community.
“It wasn’t until 1978, less than 35 years ago, that blacks were ordained into the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints priesthood.”
“It’s very natural for people to be want to be around their own kind. That’s why Hispanics want to inundate the US with illegals from their own tribe. That’s why blacks throughout the country concern themselves with nothing but blacks and black causes, even over and above their own countrymen.
When blacks move into a non-black neighborhood whites and Asians miove out, because of the high crime and chaos they bring with them. They’re more comfortable around their own people.
In schools the cafeterias….and MOST otherplaces…. amount to a segregation of races where whites, blacks, Hispanics are grouped together with their own kind.
No race wants the left’s brand of a multicultural utopia. Not really.
And you will be starkly shown that in living color as this world economy continues to crumble and the tribal factions erupt into Civil War II.
So, if you think all you have to do is intimidate whites into accepting black haters and trouble-makers, better think again. Your rainbow utopia is on the skids and is failing very quickly.
I would venture to say that if you continue with your immature views you will eventually be brought down by your own naivete and brainless do-gooderism.

Mary is correct in one area. I lived in Salt Lake City in 1978. In early 1978, a man was gunned down while running in Pioneer Park. He was black. The DOJ/FBI began an investigation using the civil rights laws. In mid-1978, the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had a revealation and permitted non-whites to enter the priesthood. With this miracle, the DOJ investigation ended.

Posted on June 22, 2012 at 3:50pm@Marybeth -
I’m sorry that you have been given information that would lead you to believe what you have stated regarding my religion. However, I can assure you that you’re information is faulty.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has always held the firm belief that we are ALL children of our Heavenly Father and should each be treated as such. The Priesthood has been withheld from certain lineages, and given to others, from the beginning of time. The Lord has never revealed exactly why; just as he has never revealed why only men are allowed to hold the Priesthood today. But the fact of the matter is that holding the Priesthood does not make anyone better than someone who doesn’t. Thus, every member is treated as an equal.
This also rebuts your averment that some families are held in higher regard simply because they have been in the Church longer. This is completely false. Again, every member, regardless of lineage or heritage is a son or daughter of God and is thus royalty and should be treated as such. My family has been in the Church from the beginning and my wife and I currently work in the nursery – babysitting with a scriptural lesson mixed in :) – hardly the most prestigious of callings :). We are all equal because before we each came here, we all had the exact same Heavenly Father.
@dismayed – regarding the revelation allowing everyone the priesthood:

“Until 35 years ago the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints “holy” teaching, inspired by “god” was that blacks were an inferior race.”
Most of the people on planet earth in every country outside Africa believe that today, even though they might not come right out and say so.
The Prime Minister of Japan was quoted as saying “America will not be able to compete in the future global community, because it has too many blacks.”
Do you have any evidence to indicate what these people believe is inaccurate?
I mean, just saying they’re not, because you‘ve been brainwashed with PC propaganda means only that you can’t think for yourself, and you expect everyone to be as foolish and naive as you are and become intimidated when you respond with charges of racism.
I’m getting sick and tired of hearing brainwashed do-gooder types like you and blacks blame whites for black failure and whether you or anybody else doesn‘t like it I’m telling the truth.
I’m sick of playing “Let‘s pretend everybody’s equal,” while my ancestors and my people are being trashed because of pure, unadulterated white hate, when the real world blaringly reveals just the opposite.
Self-hating whites are disgusting.
