    I am still reading Atlas Shrugged….taking only a short time each day to read it on purpose…am a little over half way through and the more I read, the more I get to reflect how we are TURNING INTO THE COUNTRY IN THE BOOK!!!! This is outrageous! How can a CONGRESSPERSON even utter the IDEA to take away a Justice’s vote??!!! There are so few things left that remain of our Republic the way it’s supposed to stand…. I fear that Atlas keeps shrugging. Rep. Slaughter is slaughtering our Constitution. “Flounts the law???”!!!! How dare she!

      Since you mentioned it, are paying attention to the way in which we are heading down the road of a hole bunch of ‘published’ “fantasy?”

      It’s almost as though our novelists have written our public policy direction. From the ‘wrist phone’ in Dick Tracy’ (which is on the way, mind you) to our present socialist trends that Ayn Rand lived through and published as a warning to the rest of us ignorant folks. We just can’t be taught. Especially, when “public schools” are removing critical thinking from the curriculum.

      The simple fact is that the administration, the radicals, and the Progressives know their agenda is all but finished off as the American people awaken more and more to take the nation back; we are now at the time when they will make two final plays:

      A. Winner-take-all campaign of blood, violence and corruption to seize absolute power, and turn on the people with steel. Notice how almost daily the rhetoric is again increasing and the days of rage will be used by the President for a dictatorship takeover given a chance.

      B. Scorched earth — the final step before their absolute failure, bring down everything they can, put as much regulations, power grabs and destruction of the Constitution as possible.

      People, this next year is the end game, until a new conservative President is in office, we are in the greatest danger of losing the Republic.

      And expect them to try to remove or prevent Justice Thomas from participating in the health care vote for the simple reason of them having a split decision. A four-four vote means Obama-care is legal for the rest of our days.

      @Snow…you are soooo right! I am continuously doing my homework and doing my work to spread the word. It continuously amazes me how little most people pay attention! Of course, in the Tea Party circles or those who are at all involved are not so ill informed, but I‘m trying to reach out to those that DON’T pay attention…it’s very difficult, but I REFUSE to give up. At the very least, I will be able to stand and say I did my part and hopefully many of us here are doing the same and we will come through 2012 with a new conservative President and with that, the inclination to continue to build on conservative principles.

      My Church is doing a prayer and fasting initiative this week…part of it includes prayers for our nation to get back to our founding prinicples under God. I pray that all the Blazers join in regular prayer for our sad Republic and to get us back to where we belong.

      Been around a long time but “Atlas Shrugged” does remind me of what Obama’s questionable friends are promoting. Just Yesterday he said in Dallas, that Republicans won’t pass his JOBS BILL, when the truth is: Harry Reid (D) won’t bring it to the floor in the Senate, because ‘believe it or not’ he knows even the Democrats won’t vote for this horrid bill.
      And yes, I remember seeing in my youth “BIG BROTHER” and it scared me to even think about it, and lo & behold, here we are facing my fears.
      Please, please, vote out this man who wants to bring America to it’s knees and destroy us.

      If they want his votes nullified, then every single lib progressive on the scotus needs their votes nullified as well, retroactive back to the beginning of the scotus because they vote on ideology, not the constitutionality. They know the hc abortion obahitlerstalinmao kill ya care is unconstitutional and they know with Thomas still on the bench they will lose. Keagan needs to be recused because of her involvement in it. She also needs to be recused on anything that deals with the second ammendment because of her anti-gun stance.

All Concerned Citizens of the Republic… Call or email your senators and representative and ask them to introduce or support legislation that would make it unlawful for a sitting president to issue executive orders, with exception to national military defense, if he/she is defeated in a presidential election.

      My fear is that when nobama is defeated next year for a second term, he will begin to issue executive orders to finalize the destruction of the US, ie amnesty for all, open borders, oil banking and environmental issues, religious fiats, finacial fiats, etc.

      Well, I’d entertain the idea, but only if she admits that the birth certificate was a sideshow, Obama’s father was never an American citizen and therefore Obama cannot be natural born and is ineligible to be president. That much isn’t even in question. Then she’d have to admit that every law signed by Obama was ineligible and null, every appointment made by Obama was ineligible and null, that his Supreme Court appointees were ineligible and null and any ruling made by them was ineligible and null. However, Justice Thomas has shown himself to be a man of great integrity who does not march to the Socialist Culture of Death Elitist drummer’s beat, so they must continuously try the politics of personal attacks.       the ObamaCare suit before them, that KAGAN is the one who should be recused, as SHE is the lawyer who fought along side of Obama. She is the one who is “sitting in prejudice FOR Obama”, and

      You are absolutely correct, justices can be removed by congress on bad behavior. However you have to define the bad behavior. Understandably, collectivists view people as groups and you want remove the Justice because of his wife. Well conservatives look at people as individuals not groups. Mrs. Thomas, their children, their brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews etc.. have every right to be political activists or legally involved in any political matter that they desire.

      Define why he should be removed from the SCOTUS, make a case, then present it to congress.

      Please keep with it. It’s a great book, and you’ll see more as you get further into the book. On the few sites where I post, I often respond to stories by pasting an actual excerpt from the book, and it’s really beyond eerie in a way, but you have to remember that Rand lived under this type of system. She wasn’t the “prophet” some claim she was, and she never claimed to be one. The book seems “prophetic” simply because the story is really always the same, and it’s only the names of the characters that change.

      This is a good idea. How about going back to Roe v. Wade, that was a terrible decision and based on a false charge from the “Roe” plaintiff. Just how far back are you willing to go. She didn’t say the justice has to be living. And why Thomas? Because he is black? That probably has more to do with it than some job his wife has.
      And why doesn’t this woman mention anything about Kagan and the up coming hearing of the Health Care case. My gosh, the woman practically wrote the thing.
      There have been a lot of cases over our history that were terrible. But were eventually corrected.
      I just keep thinking that one day the tables will turn on these socialists and what they created will backfire on themselves.

      Idiot? That may actually be a complement. I’m not sure she registers on the idiot scale. don’t think it goes down that low. How about the guy she is talking to, Keith Olflubberman? He further entrenches himself into the inescapable depths of liberal lunacy by permitting her to appear on his program – not surprising, just another day in the continuing saga of the crazies on MSNBC.

      The interesting question will be are there enough liberal, unthinking loons in her New York Congressional District who will also be joining the below idiot mentality and return her to Congress in 2012, for she is incapable and unqualified to be a leader in any semi-important capacity let alone the United States Congress.

      Also note with her southern twang she had to be imported from somewhere, for she surely is not a native New Yorker. Wake up New York, before you dig yourself into a deeper financial hole than you are already. Send this mama packing in 2012 along Obummer. Thank you.

      WD40 + ammo = BAD Idea. The reason why the army doesn’t use ammo that requires lubrication is because lubes (including WD40) pick up dirt, grime, particulate that can jam a weapon. Keeping your ammo clean and dry is usually your best bet for reliable function.

    This DIP WAD is my congresswomen. I am sorry. I have done and continue to do all I can to have her defeated. Luckily to appears reapportionment of congressional districts in NY may do it for me. If you look at her district in NY it runs from Rochester NY along Lake Ontario to the west. Then follows the Niagara River to Niagara Falls, NY. Into Erie County via Grand Island, NY, Tonawanda, NY, and into North Buffalo. I don’t think it is ever wider than 10 or 12 miles. It looks like a big L. It runs through some of the most Democratic Voting strongholds around here. Oh by the way. She is disgusting and one big DIP WAD!

      Even if they impeach him, a truly far fetched idea, they are never going to retroactively recuse him from his decisions. The law doesn’t work that way at that level. Supreme Court decisions can only be overturned by later SCOTUS decisions, or by a Constitutional ammendment. Perhaps Congress, by a two thirds vote could overturn SCOTUS decision, like much else dealing with SCOTUS it‘s not in the Constitution what can and can’t be done. But in no case would the past be simply rewritten by an an ex post fact impeachment.

      You’re only half correct. “Liberal” judges do indeed rule according to liberal political preferences, regardless of the law or constitution as written; when we refer to a judge as “conservative”, however, what is normally meant is that he rules (or at least tries to) according to the law or constitution as it is written, not according to his political preferences. A liberal judicial philosophy sees the courts as just one more means of advancing their political goals, the conservative judicial philosophy does not. I know that you can point to exceptions on both sides, but this is the norm.

No law should have been passed without knowing what was in it. I was a total perversion of our lawmaking system. Obama has a lot to answer for, and not just this mess, what he has quietly done by executive order. Alot of law nullification will have to be done when he is gone.     Just another Leftist who is trying to remove a conservative voice. All of the Leftist judges conflict of interest are OK because they are so independently minded and not influenced by the activities of family members, but Conservatives are not? Justice Thomas is the most scholared member of the Supreme Court. Judges are supposed to rule based on what the Law says, not what they think it ought to say. Leftist judges use evertything they can outside the actual law to come up with what they think it ought to be so this Democrat is projecting their philosophies onto Conservatives.

      I am going to agree, the congresswoman has no idea what she is talking about. Retroactive recusal would destroy the Court and violate everything Justice Marshall built. I agree that Thomas needs to be investigated and maybe impeached for his failure to file the proper finance forms that show some questionable associations with parties with stated postions on issues before the court, but that is going forward, there is nothing to do about votes already cast.
