Serving the ‘Synagogue of Satan’: Farrakhan Says Joining U.S. Military Is Fighting ‘for the Enemy’

This is Part II in a day-long series on Louis Farrakhan’s 2012 Address to his Nation of Islam followers.

According to Hon. Minister Louis Farrakhan:

  • There are “bombs coming” America’s way that are self-inflicted, given the country’s foreign policy
  • Serving in America’s military is “fighting for the enemy”
  • America’s wars are “engineered by Zionists who love Israel more than America”
  • Speech was given at the United Center in Chicago on February 23, 2012
  • Part of ongoing Blaze/ GBTV Investigation into Farrakhan’s rhetoric & influence 

Anti-Semitism, anti-Americanism, anti-military.

These are just a handful of themes that can be found in Minister Louis Farrakhan’s recent address to a packed United Center in Chicago, where thousands of followers of the Nation of Islam were gathered to attend the Saviours’ Day Convention, which marked the 82nd year of the Nation of Islam’s existence.

Louis Farrakhan: Pointing Toward Destruction

The Nation of Islam leader began his remarks by asserting that Obama was at war with Iran and with himself. And he also resurrected an oft-used phrase to blast the United States: the “synagogue of Satan.” It‘s a term he’s used before — in fact, he recently said Glenn Beck was a “minion” of it. According to his website, the phrase “is a gathering of persons of like mind and spirit who are in opposition to the will of God.” In the past, he’s also used it to refer to Israel. 

“They are pushing [Obama] to destroy Farrakhan.  They want our President to deal with me and Iran.  That would make the Synagogue of Satan happy.”

Farrakhan explained, “Now I’m gonna talk about this Synagogue of Satan more directly. [Obama] was really not in favor of the attack on Gaddafi.  But they turned him. And he becomes there spokesperson for them.  See you gotta understand Satan.”

The minister continued his accusations that the American government engages in geopolitical and racial puppetry.

“When they wanted to attack Panama, go into Grenada and take out the Bishop, they use a black face.  They passed over generals and put Colin Powell in as Chief of Staff.  And they put a black man in front of a policy to kill black people.”

The minister then condemned Powell and Obama for being subservient to their former “slave-masters.”

“We get a pat on the back by our former slave masters and their children. You would kill your own just to get a pat on the back.  Now they wanted Obama in the White House.”

Farrakhan delved further into controversial global politics and security, defending Iran and an administration that is deeply anti-Semitic.

“In all of Iran’s modern history it has never attacked another country.  But what is your record America?  What is your record Israel?  I don’t care what Iran say.  I say harsh things, too.”

He lacerated Israeli and American foreign policy as warmongering and condemned the United States’ use of an atomic bomb in WWII.  He quotes an unnamed senator during the Vietnam war:

“When they were fighting in Vietnam, the U.S. Senator said, and I quote, ‘Let’s bomb them back into the Stone Age.’  Well, there‘s some bombs coming your way that won’t be from a foreign power.  I want to acquaint you with your destruction.”

The ‘bombs’ Farrakhan is referring to are both metaphorical and real, referencing the sealing of America’s fate given its militant foreign policy.

Then Farrakhan made a startling decree to his followers: “If America goes to war with Iran, all the young people, you do not fight in America’s wars against another Muslim country. We are all conscientious objectors. Don’t even tell us to use our medical skill in your army. We won’t have to fight; we ain’t going nowhere near that. Now you young mothers up in here, that got these young warriors that tell you they aint’ got no job, they wanna join the Army.  You tell them, ‘Hey baby, we’ll create a job before you go fight for the enemy.  The Enemy!’”

And who is this enemy?  Farrakhan made the answer clear:

“I advise white and black America, Hispanic and Asian America: Why would you send your children to die for a war engineered by Zionists who love Israel more than they love the United States of America? Talk back to me!”

The Minister’s final warning was to President Obama, and included a rhetorical question about a Muslim ever attacking America because of the overwhelming military response it would incur.

“President Obama, I believe you love the American people. But if you bow down to Israel and send American soldiers to die — really for Israel, not for you, not for America — anybody in their right mind in the Muslim world would attack America knowing the response?”

    You can’t talk like that in other countries. If he were to say things like that in other countries he would be kicked out or assassinated. But only in America can he even have the freedom to say things like that and then be able to bad mouth the very government that gives him that right.     Except for a couple bullet points… funny how much this guy sounds like Ron Paul eh? Actually… not funny at all. Pretty sad. And people wonder why I can’t stand Ron Paul and spend my time exposing his ideological and philisophical associations whether it be his mentors, associates or those who simply use the same rhetoric and why that is??

      @TIME..Hi Time…see you’re still scared witless of Ron Paul..I guess you have been keeping up with him seeing that he has won the most delegates huh? Let’s see..Ron Paul is a Christian man who has a 10 yr record of voting for our Constitutional rights and our freedoms and our right to exist..He has been ridiculed for not getting any new laws passed like Congress who has kept busy getting 40 thousand laws passed..and has presented bills to repeal NDAA and SOPA..He can balance our budget and get rid of foreign entities out of our government with the Constitution and getting rid of those 5 Communist departments in the government..He has been ridiculed for wanting to stop the wars and policing the world. and bringing our troops back home to defend our borders..Did you see the videos Glenn showed time..You guys have nothing to remedy the situation..Paul does..As for Zionists..the Torah observing Jews think them evil..like the Federal Reserve ones Rothchilds.Rockefellers.etc. http://www.jewsagainstzionism.com/

      @SO TIME..THe Torah observant Jews denounce Zionism..They think them evil..they are not the same as Zionists..the Federal Reserve Rothchilds..Rockefellers..etc..Have you seen the history of the Federal Reserve and Evelyn Rothchild? Their goal is to own the world..that is why we have fallen under Communism with an Islamic (Muslim Brotherhood) military in the US.. Do you really want to continue down the same road that started with Clinton..and accelerated with Bush with a culmination of Obama? Are you afraid of freedom Time?..Farrakhan was friends with the secular muslim who had been playing ball with us.. According to TIME_2_STOP_WITH_HIS_A55ININE_ OPINIONS, just because Farrakhan denounces the Federal Reserve, somehow, Paul is associated to him. What a bunch of cr0ck. Most Conservatives are against the Federal Reserve’s current actions, it doesn’t mean we agree with that lunatic Farrakhan. TIME_2_GO_BACK_2_MSNBC will fabricate anything. I doubt he’s a Conservative or Christian.

      time is pointing out radicals in paul side. Those type of radicals are no better then any other radical and some supporters say strange things.

      this is paul supporter that basically agrees with faharkan and jeremiah wright

I liked these videos and I will not be turned away but hearsay. They said Obama’s minister said terrible things and we should all be upset. I listened to his speach and I agreed with him.       As this shows as well as some other quotes in the link he provided (really should check the links because some of those people in them are radical) shows some people that support fahrakhan rhetoric rather then just the first amendment right to say it. There is difference between those two things. Supporting someones right to say something is one thing supporting a racist biggot is another. Then using those quotes from radicals is not necessarily fair but when someone gets a crazy type hype they tend to draw out radicals anyways. This may not be who paul necessarily wants to draw out in the first place though nor is it necessarily his fault.
