Seven Months Pregnant: Chinese Woman Savagely Beaten & Forcibly Aborted by Family Planning Officials

Just when you thought the world could not be, at times, a more gruesome place, something occurs that defies logic, reason and all humanity. That is the case of a Feng Jianmei, a Chinese woman who was savagely beaten by family planning officials, dragged into a vehicle, and taken to an undisclosed location where she was forced to undergo an abortion. Worse still, she was seven months pregnant at the time.
A human rights group, “Women’s Rights Without Frontiers,” alerted LifeNews to a report from the China-based human rights organization, “64Tianwang,” describing the incident which occurred on June 3 in Shanxi Province, China. LifeNews explains:
The officials asked for RMB 40,000 in fines from Feng Jianmei’s family and, when they did not receive the money, they forcibly aborted Feng at seven months, laying the body of her aborted baby next to her in the bed (seen in picture, right). Feng is under medical treatment in Ankang City, Zhenpin County, Zengjia Town, Yupin village.

Reggie Littlejohn, president of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, called the incident “an outrage” and said that “no legitimate government would commit or tolerate such an act.”
“Those who are responsible should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity,” he added.
“WRWF calls on the United States government and the leaders of the free world to strongly condemn forced abortion and all coercive family planning in China.”
According to LifeNews, the report comes on the heels of global pressure to stop Chinese family planning officials in different province from following through with a threatened forced abortion on a woman and her unborn baby in the fifth month of pregnancy.
In that case, the human rights group ChinaAid learned that a 37-year-old woman, Cao Ruyi was also dragged from her home and beaten on the morning of June 6 by more than a dozen Chinese family planning officials. LifeNews adds:
The mother, pregnant with a five month old unborn child, was accused of violating China’s “one child” policy because she and her husband, Li Fu, already have a six-year-old daughter.
Later, Cao’s husband Li Fu told ChinaAid founder and president Bob Fu that Cao Ruyi was allowed to return home on Sunday and added that the surveillance personnel from the local family planning office had also been called off. Fu said he “expressed their thanks to ChinaAid for exposing the violent manner in which the local family planning officials dragged his wife to the hospital and the threat of performing a forced abortion on her.”
“He said the domestic and international attention and concern that Fu’s publicity efforts elicited was the reason Ms. Cao was allowed to return home,” Fu added.
LN points out that before her release from the hospital, Cao was forced to sign a guarantee that she will pay a 10,000 yuan (approximately $1500) “pregnancy termination deposit fee,” which will not be returned if she keeps her child. The deposit, according to the site, is then applied toward a greater fine for giving birth to a infant without government permission. A “social burden compensation fee” of roughly $25,000 will also reportedly be incurred by Cao.
Meanwhile, human rights groups did not expand on Jianmei’s case further, nor did they state whether Jianmei’s baby managed to survive. The horrific pictures posted on both LifeNews and the full Chinese report (linked to on LifeNews’ site) do not give hope, however.

Posted on June 13, 2012 at 3:53amThe sad thing is that this is not as rare as it sounds in this story, but a very common occurrence in China. The lack of morals displayed by the Chinese leadership is not limited to this particular outrage, but in every sphere of its activity.
New Zealand supermarkets almost ran out powdered baby formula because, due to a large number of infant deaths due to poisonous additives in Chinese formula, chinese visitors and residents alike were literally emptying the shelves to send the stuff back to relatives. The Chinese government did nothing until the use of cheap and poisonous additives hit the international media. Then they shot the guy in charge of enforcing the regulations and called the problem solved. It hasn’t been solved, just hidden better.
The Chinese are trying to buy up large tracts of farmland in my country, but luckily, enough people are awake to what has happened to other countries that have allowed it, and the backlash has stopped it – temporarily anyway. Watch out, my American friends, they are trying the same thing in Idaho right now.
I don’t hate Chinese people, I married a chinese woman and am blessed with two beautiful girls (my wife, unhappily, now lives in New York), but it is plain that Chinese government is dishonest, grasping, scheming, totalitarian, and utterly unconcerned with the wellbeing of its citizens.

Children are a blessing from God and I cherish all 3 of mine. My first 2 would probably not have survived in China as they are twin girls. I pray for those poor women and children who are, as you so rightly put it, murdered by their so-called leaders. It’s absolutely horrifying.

I dare say that the answer is almost none. When my wife left me and our children, she moved to America. She goes home to China for visits, but I doubt that she will ever live there again.
At least my children are growing up in New Zealand, a free country, and for myself, they bring joy to my life every day.
