Severe Wind Leads to Chuckles as Reporter Struggles Mightily to Cover it

Severe Wind Leads to Chuckles as Reporter Struggles Mightily to Cover it

We’ve all had those days. You know, the ones where no matter what you do you just can’t seem to get it right. The ones where the winds of life just keep blowing your hat off your head. When you can‘t seem to remember if you’re in Desert Springs, Hot Springs, or Palm Springs. The days when you don’t even know what a stop light is. Yeah, those are tough days.

That’s the sort of tough day KPSP-TV’s Marissa Mike recently had while trying to cover severe winds in Palm Springs, CA. See the above description for just how tough, and then watch the following video to lighten your day:

she’s cute … and that’s pretty funny … but its also a bit scary that she is a journalist and could not come up with a good description of the condition of the stop light and what happened to it.

how ’bout give up on the hat and say “its pretty windy here in Palm Springs … I just lost three hats to wind and am having trouble just standing here … a strong gust of wind even caused the metal support on this stoplight to crumple like a plastic straw!”

or I guess since she is a journalist, and in CA to boot, she could just say “OMG … like the wind here in Palm Springs or where-ever, is like soooo totally strong, that it like broke this stoplight thingy!”

Better put a coal power plant here. A GE wind generator would break.

Kelsey Grammer had a short lived tv show about a newsroom, where they’d send their remote reporter to the courthouse 3 hours after the city council had finished their meeting. It would be late, dark, and horizontal rain would just be hammering the guy.
The girl in this video really did have sand and so did the crew you don’t see. At least she never got to the “women and minorities hit hardest” line.

Very funny..gotta give her credit for hanging in there. They do that here too all winter and no one knows why.
Every time it snows more than a few inches, (which happens often) the TV stations send reporters 25 miles out of town, to the same highway/expressway junction, to film that it’s snowed more than a few inches. Why? We know it’s snowing. Why stick someone out there just to film it. Then if they’re lucky, some plow doesn‘t bury them while they’re reporting.
