‘Shame! Shame! Shame!’ Wis. Dems Scream Angrily in House Chambers After Vote

After Wis. House Republicans quickly passed the governor’s emergency budget bill early this morning — a move that caught many off guard — House Democrats, as well as some spectators, became unhinged and erupted in angry shouts of “Shame!” in the House chambers. The video is stunning:

One protester confusingly claimed that the vote meant her “death,” alleging the vote would stop her from getting chemo. It’s unclear what she meant:

Kinda like roaches when the lights go on! There is not way I would stand there and let one of those A/H’s shout or point their finger in my face. It’s going to come to that point, be prepared!

Seems to me some adults should have maintained order in the Assembly, huh? Where were police and security to escort these 10 year olds out of the building and into a jail cell? These people could not be better examples of the empty-headed idiots who are currently members of these unions. They are doing themselves and their cause great injustice with this childish behavior. Looks like outlawing the unions might be the better tack to take with these people.

The Democrats would have shut the doors on them long ago if they would have had the guts to do this. It’s ALWAYS about the money. Money is power.
But a good education is more powerful. That’s the reason the teacher unions should have their butts kicked! They are dumbing down our children.

If they get “too cute” about it, there will be no public schools. Children will either be in private school or home schooled.

My commercial teacher at St. Mary’s stuck her nose into my business, and I was a day student, not a resident student. She threatened me that I might not get my certificate. (Off campus I was under my parents’ jurisdiction, on campus, under the school’s.) I told her that I would love to get my certificate but that I didn’t NEED the certificate to get a job; and I told her that she and the certificate BOTH could go to Hell! (I think she got my point.)

I got my certificate. (Boy, was I surprised!)

Now the shoe is on the other foot and the freeloaders are out in droves, apparently with enough money in their lives to miss work for days on end. The Shame! Shame! Shame!” is that the liberals controlling the state for all these years let it get to this point as if ever increasing benefits for ever-growing public sector unions could be sustained by an ever-shrinking private sector workforce in an ever-shrinking economy. It’s hard to believe that many of these folks are are actually teaching our children. They seem to possess not an iota of common sense.

This is a great piece on the inherent unfairness and predictably destructiveness of public sector unions.

Walker and the GOP in Wisconsin should be cheered, not jeered. They are making the only sane and logical decisions that any state that is out of money should be making.

Sure, things are going to hurt for a little while, but by making hard decisions now we help out our future generations. These unions need to think of their kids and their grandkids! Right now they are just being selfish.

The interesting part of this is the democrats had 59 of 60 hours to debate and proclaim their side and views of the bill; then when the vote lasted the alloted time and not all of the democrats had voted, they got upset for it.

From everything I have heard on this bill it was a must. The unions have grown too powerful and in their quest for power are playing a role in bankrupting states with these exuberant benefits and pension plans way outside the norm of their private sector equivalents.

The time/ need for unions has come to an end. They have gotten way out from what they were created for the last week should be proof enough how they have outgrown themselves. Looking out for the worker is no longer at the top of their list. Also Id like to see a union head asked why they dont lower dues and lower their own compensation to compensate for the needed change.

I applaud the WI reps for moving ahead they at least are doing the job they were hired to do unlike some children who are playing hooky right now!

If they tried that in the State where I live, I’m certain that even the Dems. would not tolerate such behavior. Saying that these people act like children would be an insult to children. That wasn’t some “tin pot dictator”. This is the rules the city made.

That was the indiscretion of firefighters THEMSELVES.

      @SINISTA MACE

From my understanding of that event, the mans county voted to not have a fire service in that county, to save on taxes. Then the city and their city fire department, paid for by local property taxes, offered to extend their coverage to outside the city limits so that those living in the county would have fire protection. I remember reading that the homeowner opted out, he may claim he forgot to pay the bill but he didn’t pay it either way. Would it be fair if the fire fighters went out of their way to this mans house, save his home, free of charge while a home WITHIN the city, who (if they pay as much as I do for city property taxes) pay $1200 a year to include fire protection, cannot get quick service because the fire fighters are 45 minutes away saving a mans house for free?

The fire fighters already stated they would have saved a life if a life is at stake but the man took the risk of not having that fire protection coverage paid for.

As a libertarian, I don’t fault the fire fighters. I fault the homeowner for neglect. He isn’t given the right to fire protection. The fire fighters are not obligated to save the mans THINGS. And if you think they should have just taken the $75 and put the fire out, you are arguing having coverage for pre-existing conditions.

I believe the city also stated that they have saved homes that didn’t have fire protection and charged them the bill afterwards for the services and they got burned (figuratively) by the deadbeat homeowner.

Back to the main topic, no one wants this lady to die of cancer but I don’t want to pay her medical bills either. So you have to pay more for your health insurance? Booo hoo. I just recently ETS’ed from the military and while I go to school I have to pay 100% of my healthcare costs for my family for at least the next four years. Cry me a friggin’ river.

Heartless jerk you say? I willing enlisted in the US Army to serve my country. I signed up as INFANTRY and risked my life, my families future, the future of my TWO young children to do what I thought I was a good thing. I’ve learned otherwise when it comes to war and our foreign policy. My two deployments have turned me into an Anti-war libertarian.

The thing is, I made that choice. Would I help those that need help? Yes, if the situation rose, I would stand up and help someone in need. Even as an Agnostic/Atheist, I serve food at a church soup kitchen to help those in need.

The difference is volunteerism. The Government is a non-for-profit business. In fact, they’re so non-for-profit that they have CONSISTENTLY run a DEFICIT! Any real business that ran even a NON-for-profit business with this much deficit would be out of business much less a for-profit business.

I don’t determine who lives and dies. Government shouldn’t either. It’s the responsibility of the individual and their family. If you feel the need to help those people, feel free! I’m sure you have a decent amount of disposable income, how much do you send back to Uncle Sam? Why take home anything? Pay your rent, water and electricity and give the rest back to the IRS, they’re doing wonderful things with our cash.

Incorrect. The homeowner payed county property taxes. In this specific incident, those people in that county decided not to have a county fire department. They paid ZERO taxes towards the funding of the CITY fire department. The city decided to offer extended coverage as a option. Those that didn‘t pay weren’t covered.

Do you believe $75 a year was making the city busting at the seems with cash? It wasn’t a matter of profit, it was a matter of paying for the service they would otherwise NOT have had the city not offer extended sevice.

Ok, what do you expect to happen? It‘d be great if we all had huge saving accounts for that day when my house burns down while I’m at work. Where will I get $160,000 to cover my house? What if the fire spreads and catches two of my neighbors house on fire? If only have had a couple hundred grand in my bank account for.

Then you expect get your money back at the end of the year? So I pay roughly $600 a year to cover my $160,000 home. I have personal friends and a neighbor who lost his home in a fire just last year. Had the same insurance I have. Great company. He was covered 100% and then some. So you expect this insurance company to return my $600 every year for the life of the policy but then what happens when my house burns down and they have to pay out $160,000? How do you expect a company to cover that?

I’m not saying our insurance system, especially health insurance, is perfect but it essential boils down to the same issue as far as the fire goes. I’m sure the fire fighters were uneasy with letting it burn but it was just stuff. If the fire fighters just put out fires for free, or with an implied fee that everyone knows they won’t collect on, why would ANYONE pay? it’s the same argument liberals have for health insurance. Do you think pre-existing conditions should be covered by insurance companies? Should tax payers have to pay for those pre-existing conditions?

      @ AmericanSoldier,

Fine you are a vet, I got that from your tag, so am I, (first Gulf War). I still stand by the heartless comment. You have placed what pennies you have in your pocket over the lives and safety of fellow citizens. From the healthcare debate, to this current tin pot dictator in Wisconsin, too manyy tea-baggers and GOP supporters have placed dollar signs on rights. Too many GOP leaders care more about when they are going to get their next Koch hit, instead of the working and middle class famlie that have yet to see any part of the recovery. As corporate bonuses grow, lay offs continue and the Tea-Baggers are cheering on the corporations has they crush their fellow citizens.

I seriously wonder what these fruitloops would have said if the Reps had done this during the Obamacare ram-through? I hope someone walks State street with a gavel! $100 that person gets assaulted if they do it……Dems, truly sowing their uncultured uncivilized mental state.

Has anyone noticed the obvious difference in physical appearance between the opposing sides? I’m not one to point a finger but seriously each one of them should donates 25 lbs to the before school meal programs and save us some more money……then to prey on an obviously sick and not totally with it person who can’t quite convey whether she was for saving tax dollars so she COULD get health care, or against paying tax dollars. Such sickening exploitation…..but then isn’t that the union mantra?

Is there any doubt in anyone’s mind? Liberals are nothing but children. That’s why liberalism is considered a mental disorder. It’s defined by adults in years behaving like 8 year olds. Every so often people get fed up with children (Democrats) running the country into the ground. They come to their senses and elect adults (Conservatives) to fix things.

Boy how could anyone side with these lunatics?

“Where will I get $160,000 to cover my house?”

I guess you’ll get it from the hundreds of thousands of other people who pay their premiums. They‘ll be fixing your house for you because you failed to live within your means and can’t afford to repair your own house. And the only way you’ll be able to take advantage of that assistance is IF you let yourself be raped for a premium every year, JUST IN CASE something happens.

I wonder how much dough the insurance companies reap in with this scheme? Probably billions.

American Soldier said: “So you expect this insurance company to return my $600 every year for the life of the policy but then what happens when my house burns down and they have to pay out $160,000? How do you expect a company to cover that?”

If they couldn’t cover it to begin with, then they ought not be in the business of collecting premiums from other people to cover it, then claim they can‘t cover it because other people didn’t pay their premiums. You say “when” as if it’s a given that your house is going to burn down.

This is the same as the mob making you pay them for protection.

“I’m sure the fire fighters were uneasy with letting it burn but it was just stuff.”

Yea, somebody ELSE’S stuff. Easy to let somebody ELSE’S stuff burn, isn’t it?

You may as well say “I’m sure the doctors were uneasy with letting her die but it was just somebody else’s body.”

If the doctors just healed people for free, or with an implied fee that everyone knows they won’t collect on, why would ANYONE pay? Do you think pre-existing conditions should be covered by insurance companies? Should tax payers have to pay for those pre-existing conditions?

I think insurance is a racket period.

A doctor takes the Hippocratic Oath. It is in direct opposition of money based care.

Money is the problem. It makes people act imhumane such as letting a man’s house burn to the ground while they watch, or letting a person die of cancer because they didn‘t have enough money and they aren’t “insured” because they have a “preexisting” condition.

If you take an oath to do the job, then do the job. Or don’t take the oath.

Where ARE the Wisconsin Senators? They ought to be doing their jobs.

      American Soldier said:

@SINISTA MACE Would you not pay for it then wonder where the hell they were when they didn’t show up? Do you own a home? Do you not pay homeowners insurance? (rhetorical question, your mortgage lender would require it) Unless you own your home out right. What would you do if your house burned to the ground? Insurance has it’s place but it definitely needs reform, specifically Health insurance.

I wouldn’t depend on them at all. I would rather depend on my neighbors and myself because WE have an interest in not allowing a home to burn down, because it decreases the value of our own homes with a vacant lot sitting there. I would hope my neighbors are smart enough to recognize this fact, and recognize that the fire dept has no interest in your house burning down unless you pay your dues, and that they’re not going to rebuild the house.

In an ideal world, if my house burned down, my neighbors would help rebuild or repair it.

In this world, I would be forced to call Nationwide and file a claim.

At least in an ideal world, there is no insurance company middleman raking profits off the tops of the premiums.

If our dollars weren’t being devalued by the Federal Reserve, then people would be more than able to afford their own risks without paying into a premium pool.

All these monetary problems somehow ties back to the Federal Reserve.

A Volunteer does exactly that. He volunteers.

He doesn’t stand idly by while the house burns, unless he isn’t really volunteering, and you didn’t pay your dues.

You think I need a payoff to volunteer to protect my country?

      No.

Do I need a payoff to volunteer to put out fires?

      No.

Do I need to be paid to be a Good Samaritan?

      No.

Do I need to be paid to fight foreign wars based on lies?

No, I’m not going to do it at all.

The real irony and the pin to burst the Dems’ balloon is that when collective bargaining for the public sector unions was legalized in WI, it was the Democratic leader of the Democratic minority that got the bill passed.

      AmericanSoldier & 13 Imam,

You are nothing more than heartless jerks. Use what ever politically theory to allow you to sleep at night, but at the end of the day, you have places a dollar sign on human life and let your own personal greed determine who lives and dies. Government is not a for-profit business, it is about providing services to its citizens. I know one thing Christ would do today, he would be with the people protesting and protecting the rights they have, until thugs like Walker, strip the rights from them.

      *****************************
Seems to me, I remember a story Christ told in the Bible, it was about a man who went out into the market place and saw men standing around, He asked them why they weren’t working and they told him, because “Nobody hath hired us.” He then agreed with them to go to his fields and labor for a certain amount. Then he went out later and saw more, and the same thing happened, with him sending them to his fields, and again every 2 hrs until nearly the end of the day, agreeing with the laborers to pay them what they deserved. When the end of the day came he called the workers together for their pay, and starting with the last ones hired, giving them the amount agreed upon between he, and his first hired laborers, and the same with each group until the first hired group, (who thought they’d surely get more{seniority rights is the heart of union labor]), and when they were given only the amount agreed upon, they rose up and argued with him. The man told them basically that he paid what he owed them and was free to pay those with whom he hadn’t bargained a wage whatever he chose. ((Doesn’t exactly sound to me like Christ was saying, “workers rights” Union bargaining rights” to me, how about you?))

      Dawg of Gawd:

Please post a link showing video or audio of republicans fleeing responsibility and leaving thier state, then coming back and acting appaled that the vote went through. Everyone knew that the minority party wasnt going to have a say. Walker said the bill was non-negotiable when it was drafted. That’s why the dems ran scared in the first place. You see, when the Dems were in charge, it was ok to walk over the minority party; however, now that the shoe is on the other foot, its unconscionable.
