Shameful: Bangladeshi Man Chops Off Wife’s Fingers for Studying for a Degree

Man Chops Off Wifes Fingers for Going to College

Human rights groups in Bangladesh have mobilized in requesting severe punishment for 30-year-old Rafiqul Islam, who has admitted to using a machete to cut off his 21-year-old wife Hawa Akther Jui’s fingers on her right hand as punishment for pursuing higher education without his permission. BBC News reports the sickening news:

“The incident is one of a number of acts of domestic violence targeting educated women in recent months.

Police say that Mr Islam, who works in the United Arab Emirates, tied up his 21-year-old wife, Hawa Akther Jui, earlier this month. He then taped her mouth and cut off the five fingers.

Doctors say the fingers cannot be re-attached and it appears that Ms Akther will have to live with permanent disfigurement.”

Jui told the BBC that her husband had taped her mouth shut and blindfolded her, “saying that he would give me some surprise gifts.”

The Daily Star of Bangladesh reports that several hundred people of Narsingdi, organized by Narsingdi Debate Forum, made a human chain across a busy road in the city Saturday to protest the horrid crime. Hundreds of people have reportedly vistied Jui’s residence every day to express empathy with her.

Mohammed Saluddin, the Bangladesh police chief said that Mr Islam had confessed after he was arrested in the capital, Dhaka, and will face charges of permanent disfiguration. Human rights groups have called for life imprisonment.

The Daily Mail reports that the attack is only the latest in a series of violent acts against educated women in the “Muslim-majority company.”

In June, an unemployed man gouged out the eyes of his wife, an assistant professor at Dhaka University, apparently because he could not stand her pursuing higher studies at a Canadian University.

      People may disagree with me but they have not been there and have not seen what I have.

      Most of these people in the middle east are still living in the dark ages. Which makes no reference to their level of technology or use of technology but their vision of the world. Their treatment of women or human life for that matter is based on what Mullah, Imam tells them to think. Even those who are educated still cannot break free of the engrained doctrine. The grand majority of them cannot read by intent of their leaders to keep them from expanding their intellect or reason.       Also, we should make sure they’re plainly recognizable as Muslims. Printing it on their passports wouldn’t suit that purpose, maybe we should make them wear a symbol. Maybe they can sew a small crescent moon to their clothing.

      And afterwards we should go ahead and put them into prison camps, to concentrate their population.

    These men need there genitilia cut off.. maybe after a few of that happening they will stop doing this to their wives.. Its obvious that women who are treated this way are not even considered human.. all they are is child bearers, housekeepers or in other words slave to sadistic evil men.. God help this young woman!

      No worries, I’m sure under Sharia law, the husband is in no trouble at all. I fail to understand, how the liberals and Muslim coddling left-wingers in this country, can continue to mindlessly support Islam, when we have frequent examples like this, that prove it’s a religion of anything but peace.     It’s only going to get worse-they think women are property, and can’t stand it when a woman seems smarter. Islam has such fragile ego’s in men. I truely hate that so-called religion of peace. I also hate that there is a program on TV trying to convince us how “normal” and “nice” they are. Horsehocky, it’a religion of force, and slavery. Sorry, but am slightly ticked off at how this lady was treated in what should be the most wonderfull of all relationships. Islamic men need to be treated just like the women are, cut off his fingers. I won’t say what else.

      Jesus treated women with equality and importance in a culture where women were not treated that way. But liberals always attacks Christians, and give islam a pass. islam is a horrible religion for women and you would think, women would come out in defense of what is happening to these women.
