Shock Audio: VP Biden Says He Doesn’t Know Who Van Jones Is

In 2009 President Obama appointed Van Jones as the Green Jobs Czar, (Jones’ official title was “Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at the White House Council of Environmental Quality”). Sounds pretty important, doesn’t it? And even though Jones eventually resigned, you would think the vice president of the United States would know who he is, right? Wrong. According to new audio, Joe Biden is claiming he does not know who Van Jones is.

Seriously, the vice president made this strange claim on a Florida radio station this morning.

During an interview with Jack Harris of 970 WFLA, Biden was asked about the “Occupy Wall Street” movement and responded:

“I really don’t know about the Van Jones group, except what I read in the press.”

The gracious hosts avoided mentioning the history of Mr. Jones and the White House, until Biden brought him up again and said”whoever he is.“ The hosts then pointed out that he used to be ”in the administration,” to which Biden responded, “oh is that– alright.”

For the record, according to the White House web site, Vice President Biden and Van Jones have not only worked in the same administration, in the same building, but hey traveled the country together. In May of 2009, they were in Denver.

Hey, taskforce fans. We’re just back from Denver where we hosted our fourth meeting. It was on the green economy and the opportunities therein for middle-class folks. VP Biden was joined by all kinds of interesting partners from our world, including Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis; Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan; Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack; Deputy Secretary of Energy Dan Poneman; United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk; and Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Van Jones.

The Daily Kos also reported that  Joe Biden, Van Jones, and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis all spoke in Denver while announcing an additional $4 billion in stimulus funding for public housing.

      I live in the Tampa area… Jack is usually the even keel and Ted is the hardcore firebrand.

      You may remember them from Ted offering to kick Ron Reagan’s butt a couple of months back. I love these two.

      This does not reflect poorly on Biden; it only points out how irrelevant Van Jones is in our society. He had no power to begin with but has taken some energy from the Fox show that often featured him as some threatening being who had at his hands the power to destroy the nation. If we cease with his coverage, he goes back to being the nonentity that is his natural state.

      In this case it seems more likely that The Blaze is trying to play the role of the “Gotcha! Media” than Biden legitimately not knowing who Van Jones is. The question was asked in the form of “The Van Jones Group” in relation to the Occupy Wall Street protests; Biden would likely only know Van Jones as a former adviser who served only about half a year back in 2009.

      As far as I know, the only place the term “The Van Jones Group” will appear is on conservative media and sites, and I doubt Biden watches those. Biden’s always good for a gaffe but this time seems like a legitimate case of not knowing what the terms the broadcasters were using, nothing more.

      That statement DOES NOT suggest that the VP doesn’t know who Van Jones is? That IS NOT what it says. It says that VP Biden doesn’t know about the PROGRAM that Jones is forming – which is quite logical since VP Biden is busy with many other projects. Is everyone in every administration supposed to know EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING that all political groups do. Does anyone here know EVERYTHING about EVERY TEA PARTY in the country??

      Re-listen to the audio, Biden clearly says after mentioning the Van Jones Group “Van Jones, whoever he is…“ at that point the radio host says ”he was in the administrations, Green Jobs czar“ and at that point Biden laughs it off ”oh really…”

      So he does in fact direct address that he claimed not to directly know who Van Jones, the person is… you need to listen more carefully next time.

But, if you had bothered to read ALL of the article, you would know that he makes the comment about Van Jones, “whoever that is”. Now, you can spin it any way you want, but when someone states “whoever that is”, this is most definitely a clear description of someon unknown to them. We shouldn’t wonder why the left has no problem voting for a bill which they are told not to bother to read until after voting for it, to support a “jobs bill” if you love the president, etc. because the left never bothers to get the facts!!       VP Joe Biden‘s comments and denials that he doesn’t know who Van Jones is frightens me for the mere reason that Biden is just one heartbeat away from the Presidency of the USA. On the other hand, Biden’s comments are true to form when considered along with other outlandish and stupid remarks he has made in the past.

      Obama and Biden are a good pair, dumb and dummer! Van Jones is or was one President Barrack Obama‘s prodigies If that’s not frightening to you, something is wrong, since Jones is a self professed COMMUNIST as are other close advisors of the POTUS. Communisn is no longer the threat from without, it’s deeply embedded in the Whitehouse.

      its called a lie, and it comes to joe naturally. there is a reason that van jones resigned after the light was shone on him for what he is. this has been van jones’ plan the whole time. he is calling for the destruction of the capitalist system. so ask yourself, why would the president have an adviser that is calling for bottom up, top down, inside out change of the american economy? for the same reason we are 3 years into this jokers administration and NOTHING has been done to better the situation. 3 years no focus on jobs, or facilitating an environment where business’ can grow. only more regulation (obamacare, and frank dodd) that are creating so much uneasiness and uncertainty of the future that no one is spending, hiring etc….these are direct consequences of those 2 bills alone. And no one is saying anything about it…not even at republican presidential debates. This is why the tea party is alive and well, they have no idea how many of us there are ….and lucky for us they have already forgotten the bare azzd spanking they got last november. keep in mind also that people are rejecting obamas socialist agenda because we ARE NOT SOCIALISTS. America is here because of freedom of religion (obama stripping tax exempt status from churches), overbearing and out of control government (congress shoving legislation down are throat that 60% + of america STILL dont like) and over taxation (obamas answer to our problem is lighting another half trillion of YOUR money on fire).

    I think you guys blew this one. As much as I think Biden can be a bozo, he says, “I really don’t know about the Van Jones group . . .” He doesn‘t say he doesn’t know who Van Jones is. And he goes on to talk about “Van Jones’ guy, whoever he is . . .” Again, it‘s Van Jones’ guy he doesn’t know, not Van Jones. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s the way I heard it.

      I heard it the same way. The broadcasters were talking about him in relation to the Occupy Wall Street protests, and using the term “The Van Jones Group.” Biden would likely only know him as a former adviser, or potentially a speaker or author; and Van Jones honestly sounds more like a last name than a full one.

      Read the interview further…the “hosts” remind Biden that Jones was part of the administration and Biden replies “oh is that…alright”. Please..read the entire article because it’s clear Biden is either hiding the fact he knows Jones (the made appearances together) or he‘s being his usual clownish self and is completely oblivious to Jones’ existence.

    Uh… he says he doesn’t know “the Van Jones Group,” obviously in reference to what he has to do with Occupy Wall Street movement. Given just the name “The Van Jones Group”, I wouldn’t know who he is either (honestly, if not for The Blaze I’d never have heard of him). He only was part of the administration from March – September in 2009.

      Biden knows good and well Van Jones – as the Green Jobs czar – had to have some influence as to the loans to Solyndra and the other failed “green” enterprises this administration has funded. Also, Van Jones is clearly a communist, his “group” is responsible for the idiots swarming Wall Street and soon to come, a town near you. It’s more convenient for Biden to look stupid than it is for him to look complicit.
