The Twitter Universe is buzzing this morning as one of radio’s most controversial figures is joining the panel of judges on “America’s Got Talent.” As seen on the SternShow twitter feed:

“It’s official – Howard just signed on the dotted line – he is now the newest judge on America’s Got Talent!”

Telling his SiriusXM satellite radio audience that his role as a judge on America’s Got Talent will be “very different from the radio show,” Howard Stern announced he is joining NBC’s prime time talent competition.

Longtime Stern agent Don Buchwald was in the studio with Stern to assist in the announcement and add details about the deal.
The self-proclaimed “King of All Media” claims that the judging role is “something I need to do.”
Stern also declared that the judging on the show will become “more serious” with his skills being added to the team of Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne.
Beginning in February, Stern will start commuting to Los Angeles for tapings.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 5:29pmI have enjoyed the show from the beginning. Putting a pornographer on the team for people to listen to and admire is just plain wrong. I will not watch it or support a low life like Stern. I am really sorry because I really like the show. This ruins it for me and I will not watch this year. NBC should be ashamed of themselves.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 11:19amStern is another fool the liberals look up to. NBC must be out of their minds. No way will I watch the show again this year. American Idol saved itself by bringing in some class with J-Lo. NBC execs must be brain dead. Of all the people, they chose Stern. Stupid.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 11:10amWasn’t there an anti-Newt tidbit you could have manufactured today, Glenn, instead of this? Good for Howard. Despite what people may believe, he’s actually a very, very nice and humble person off the air and he genuinely loves the show.
Anyway, back to Beck’s hatefest: I just wanted to point out to Beck that Newt worked with Reagan in the early 80s and refers to himself as a Reaganite (as he did in a live debate). What does that make him? A liar? He’s a progressive when he mentions TR, but a liar when he mentions Reagan. Can’t have it both ways, Beck.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 12:24pmHi, this is in the entertainment section, not politics. See, TV is (well, supposedly) entertainment, thus a news article — which the Blaze is not specifically a political news site — regarding something in the entertainment industry is perfectly viable to NOT have something regarding politics in it.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 6:04pmThat’s actually one of the things that really ticks me off about Gingrich, he was around with Reagan, he writes a pretty damn good book and does some solid video with the whole Ronald Reagan “Rondevous With Destiny” stuff, then to have Beck ask him who‘s his favorite President you’d figure as a Conservative who actually knew the man the answer would be Reagan, not father of the Bull Moose Party (which spawned the Progressive movement in America). Then to see a follow up of Newt being asked who’s the greatest modern President many times and he comes up with FDR as who he considers the greatest President has to at least make you wonder exactly how Progressive is Newt himself. Follow that up with Newt saying he considers himself a RealPolitique Wilsonian just doesn’t really make sense for a guy who I thought was a Reaganite. He also has, over the past 20 – 30 years held an aweful lot of Progressive views such as on global warming, imigration, health care mandates etc… and to be later asked what he thinks of Glenn calling him a Progressive his response is “it depends what standard you’re using”, what do you mean what standard? The Progressive Standard. Now that that’s all said and done, next time respond to the article above and quite being a Progressive hack making everything about ripping Beck.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 11:05amHoward Stern judging talent..now that’s funny. Howard stern is a no talent hack himself. It seems more appropriate for him to judge no talents, at least he has a frame of reference. But then again his audience is just brainless enough to enjoy Prince Poppycock and that type of mind rotting garbage.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 9:57amThe selection of Howard Stern as a judge is a business decision. Who judges the competition is the only thing that NBC can change to attract more viewers. I personally believe that there will be an initial spike in viewership, as people will tune in to see if Howard does anything outrageous, which is his calling card, and seemingly his only draw. Doubtful that a Howard Stern type can engage an audience on censored media, which is why he went to satellite……
Report Post »DoseofReality
Posted on December 15, 2011 at 10:04amyeah, he was only on censored media for 25 years…probably has no idea how to function under it. This is a brilliant call for this show – ratings will spike and continue due to his draw.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 9:54amI suppose I‘ll have to tune in on the night some contestant decides to paint women’s breasts like Easter eggs. Stern is an old hand and expert on that kind of thing. My wife is looking forward to nights when the smallest penis and erection is sought.
Yep, just cannot have enough of some good ol’ American family television in prime time.
-The above are regular features to his show. That he is brought into mainstream sickens me.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 12:32pmYeah c’mon Orwell – things weren’t so rosy – even in the 60‘s and 70’s on TV like you might think.
Take Don Rickles for instance – he used to be on various TV variety type shows and seemed like a sarcastic funny guy type – but his live standup comedy shows in Vegas were filthy in the mid 60′s.
Yet Don made it to mainstream TV despite that ‘other side’ to him.
It’ll be ok – and if it isn’t – no one will watch.

Posted on December 15, 2011 at 9:38amOh man, that would be so fun to watch Stern trash someone who has no talent.
I‘m sick of all the talent shows with a ton of preppy 20 year olds who sing harmonies while having tons of accessories on as if they’re all rockstars while 15 of them are on stage, just so they can get some votes from 10 year old girls who have a crush on the cute boys.
I wish there were just the good old days of American Idol where you either said “wow, she has an amazing voice and deserves a record deal“ or ”wow, that guy sucks and simon just showed him.”
The latter was the funny and entertaining part.
I know everybody on here is gonna say “Reality TV is evil and those are real people” but come on…
Everyone knows that reality tv is about as real as WWE, and it should be watched as if it is WWE.
I WANT MORE PEOPLE RUNNING OFF STAGE CRYING!
