Surprised? Planned Parenthood Allegedly Created Indiana Girl Scouts Sex Ed Program

Planned Parenthood Created Indiana Girl Scouts Sex Ed ProgramWhile liberals frequently impugn the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts seem to have gotten a pass for its connections to Planned Parenthood. But that could change if more stories like the one below keep coming to light.

LifeNews reports that in Bloomington, Indiana, a Planned Parenthood “health and sexuality educator” was involved in the creation of a Girl Scouts program on the same subject, targeted at girls as young as five years old. They cite Planned Parenthood award recipient Anne Reese, who Planned Parenthood itself credits with “work[ing] for many years as a health and sexuality educator, and help[ing to] initiate the Family Life Education program for Girl Scouts ages five to 18 throughout a twelve-county area.” The same site mentions that Reese’s career began in the Bloomington, Indiana area.

And what does a “health and sexuality educator” do, exactly? Again, a section on the Planned Parenthood website titled, “Tools for Educators,” provides the answers. Or rather, they don’t provide the answers, but link to lesson plans from another organization called the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS). Here are a few excerpts of activities from their lesson plans:

Q&A on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

This interactive lesson is designed to allow participants to ask questions and hear from gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning people in the form of a panel discussion. The activity addresses and assists participants to move beyond stereotypes and promote acceptance and respect for all people irrespective of their sexual orientation. The lesson requires a panel composed of youth and young adults who are openly gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning.

How to be a Super Activist or Ally

In this lesson participants identify ways to be an activist and/or ally to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning people. The lesson relies heavily on group activity and requires students to work together to create ways to fight homophobia and transphobia.

Unplanned Pregnancy: Abortion

This lesson addresses issues related to abortion including: definitions of spontaneous and induced, surgical and medical, legal and illegal abortions; and discussion of medical and legal facts and myths, feelings, and values regarding abortion. An optional family homework assignment is included.

Contraception, Day 3: What’s the Best Method?

This lesson explores decision-making with regards to birth control, including the impact of ethical and emotional issues. Students practice applying factors such as effectiveness, safety, cost, emotions and ethics to hypothetical decision-making scenarios.

The news, unfortunately, might not be too shocking considering stories The Blaze has brought you before. Last week we reported on the video by the American Life League that exposes the graphic lessons Planned Parenthood teaches to young people aimed at “hooking” them on sex. In fact, Indian state Rep. Bob Morris recently called the Girl Scouts a “radicalized organization” that “sexualizes” young girls. And a VA Catholic church banned the group for its ties to Planned Parenthood.

And on top of that all, The Blaze exposed teaching material used by the Girl Scouts that encouraged them to use the liberal site Media Matters to combat bias.

Kinsey is the father of the sexual revolution due to his fraudulent research he performed by studying sex habits of convicts and perverts. Children were sexually abused by adults for his studies. He then used his research to change the laws in America. His research is what was used to decriminalize crimes against women and children.       Clearly your biased….. So you dont acknowledge that there are elements in the media and schools that try to sell sex to kids??? It’s not like this is a new idea it has been happening for awhile in various forms.

      The thing that makes this shocking is that this article is saying that now the Girl Scouts have been doing it and they are supposed to be a “wholesome” organization that people can trust – presumably it’s run by the parents.

      Anyway, judging from your comments you probably are predisposed to disagreeing with anything anyone says unless they wear an Obama button and spew squalor from their face hole.

    Have you guys checked Snopes.com yet? I am a Girl Scout leader and have NEVER witnessed anything like this. Please don’t punish our organization and our girls by not supporting them our buying cookies until you have done all the research and I will continue to support them while I do mine. Please dont just read this inflamatory story that was pick off Lifenews website. It doesnt seem to me there was any actual reporting here, just a lot of repeating what some one else said. I am a conservative and a Catholic, and I beleve in the the Girl Scouts until proven otherwise.

      It is really very simple. The gov’t at all levels should not be funding PP, GS, BS, nor any other charity or non-profit endeavor in the private sector. The gov’t at all levels have constitutions or charters; they should abide by them. The gov‘t is never ’here to help’ they are here to control. If the gov’t did not give our money away then we could give it to whom we choose, pure and simple.

      Sorry, Ire. I can’t support the slaughter of 50 million Americans. This is not the first article I have seen linking Planned Parenthood to the Girl Scouts. I’m erring on the side of caution and getting my cookies elsewhere.

      I haven’t brought myself to the point of informing the young scouts why I am not buying their cookies, but I think I probably should. They should know what Planned Parenthood really stands for (infanticide as a form of ethnic genocide).

      Just the fact the Girl Scouts align themselves with murderers, I have chosen not to support the girl scouts. Will I ever again? Sure….     I was a girl scout for seven years in my youth. They never mentioned sex once in all that time. What happened? Who are they to get involved in teaching sexual deviance anyway? 5 years old. Do they give them boy and girl baby dolls?

      Where are the parents and troop leaders on all this? Absolutely befuddled. I am the cookie mom for my daughter’s troop. I am very conservative and have been pro-life longer than I’ve been a republican. I have never seen any evidence of sex, birth control, abortion, etc being taught or talked about at any girl scout function our troop has been to. The only time planned parenthood had been mentioned to my girls are when well meaning conservatives tell them that is why they are not buying cookies from them.

      If you feel compelled to not support girl scouts because of these allegations, fine. But please, please, PLEASE do not bring this up to the girls themselves as your reason. I would never stand for strangers talking to my daughter about birth control without my permission. Why would you think I would want you, who might vote exactly as I do, to do that. If you think little girls should be sheltered from hearing about sex at a too-young age, then don’t bring it up them when they are trying to sell cookies.

      Remember when the democrats boo-ed the boy scouts carrying the flag to open their national convention? It was rude and wrong. Don’t be like that. There are appropriate ways to learn facts, voice concerns, etc. To a little girl’s face is NOT one of them.

    Now that sex ed is being pushed by the top levels of the G. S. organization, parents need to be especially vigilant. Check all materials to which your child is exposed. Make sure you know what programs are being offered at camp. Get to know your child’s Scout leader.You cannot assume everything is acceptable just “because it’s The Girl Scouts.” Unfortunately, since G.S. has gotten involved in these controversial moral issues, it now requires increased scrutiny. If you have any suspicions that your child is being propagandized to accept the wrong values, let the organization know your opinions and the reasons you are taking her OUT of the Girl Scouts!

      IF the GIRL SCOUTS ‘sell out’ on this most important issue for young women, they might as well fold their tents, they are done. I will never buy another GS cookie which is their main source of support if this happens.
      WE know what causes pregnancy. STOP it. How difficult is that? Some women use it like birth control, without any knowledge or admission that life is from GOD. IT is NOT a CHOICE. IT IS A BABY. WANT TO HAVE A GREAT LIFE? Don’t screw around outside of marriage or before marriage.

      great post Patty, I agree with everything you said. Why can’t we bring back personal responsibility? Every time you have sex (unless you’re older) there is a possibility of pregnancy. The only 100% guarantee that there will be no baby is to NOT have sex. Why can’t we teach this in our schools?

      Why do our elementary school age children need to know about transgenderism, abortions, etc. Lets teach them the fundamentals and let the parents teach about reproduction. I will be sending my children to private school to hopefully bypass the government school system and its agenda.

      Regretfully, I will also not be purchasing Girl Scout cookies anymore. They are not the same organization as they were when I was a girl scout. What a shame.

      Exactly! I’m trying to figure out why sex needs to be taught at Girl Scout meetings! I was never a girl scout but my sister was. I never remember her learning about transgender people! I just remember them having meetings where they played games, ate cookies, and did good deeds to earn badges! I don‘t understand why we can’t just let kids be kids. Leave them alone! Let them be innocent as long as possible!

      I was born and raised in Bloomington. I, thankfully, got out of that cesspool! My family still resides in Bloomington and the liberals are running that town into the gutter! This does not suprise me one bit! When I was in high school it was not as bad. The liberal infestation started showing its ugly head in 1999 or 2000. It is unreal what is going on in that town. Agenda 21 is very strong, and the “progress” or lack of, as far as business is concerned is astounding. I don’t think there is any hope for Bloomington.

      Did you know the divorce rate for the state of Indiana is so high, that the state stopped keeping records on it years ago (I think about 30 years). However, you can find county divorce statistics on the internet. If you do this, you will find that 3 of the counties with the highest divorce statistics are very close in proximity to Bloomington and The Kinsey Institute – where the sexual revolution began and continues to progress. The sexual revolution was a hoax to reduce prison sentences for violent crimes and sex offenders. Kinsey took the results of his so-called research to court houses across America in order to have laws changed in favor of criminals. When the public is frustrated because rapists and sex offenders walk away with a slap of the wrist, they can thank Kinsey. There must still be some people living in Bloomington who had knowledge of or took part in Kinsey’s shameful work.

      LPHP: I have come to respect your points of view on many topics here on The Blaze, but me thinks your sexual orientation has clouded your vision on this one. From the City of Bloomington, IN website following the link in The Blaze post above:

      Now you have to know in the liberal bastion that is Bloomington (another college town gone amuck ala Madison, WI and many others) they posted this info proudly. And that this is going on in Indiana, and elsewhere no doubt, is flat out WRONG! Shame on the Girl Scouts, at least in Indiana, for heading on this “down-hill slide“ with ”greased runners”.

      I didn’t find fault with the analysis. Any involvement in the affairs of the GSA by PP taints all of the actions and policies of the GSA. Until the GSA divorces itself from the PP in all aspects, as the Susan G. Komen Foundation TRIED to do, I will not support the GSA in any way.

    Girls and young women should be protected from some sides of the collective wealth of information about human sexuality and sociological behavior – such as the many spicy topics we adults freely discuss here daily.

    In this day and age, we still need to have some innocent lambs; not everyone has to be a smarty-pants know-it-all about things that rightfully belong behind closed doors.

    Let girls find out for themselves on their wedding night, like we all did. Boys of course need to know everything they possibly can, to be prepared.

      As the mother of two girls (9 & 8) I heartily disagree about them finding out on their wedding night, with the exception of what is sex REALLY like if you love someone. Like you, I believe that their innocence should be preserved… they are CHILDREN, not young adults. But the schools want to sexualize them as early as possible… it’s disgusting!

      My children will start getting the “Miracle of life,” how a baby is made (wth appropriate pictures for their age – nothing pornographic) and “sex is great and worth the wait” talks from me SOON (in the next month or so). I am NOT going to leave the sex ed to the schools. They teach them that sex is ok, just use birth control and condoms. They do not teach the reasons why NOT to have sex prior to marriage other than you can get a disease. But there’s a whole lot more to sex than what disease you could get. And the schools downplay the pregnancy part. If I don’t open the dialogue soon, they won’t feel comfortable talking to me later.

      Of course, I don’t expect them to want to talk with me when they are teenagers, but I will try to keep the discourse going as well….

      Yes MONACNE…because it’s important for your 5 year old to begin to know about “gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning” sexual practices while being a girl scout. I particularly like the liberal euphemism “questioning” this is clearly tailored for the future nymph0s in the troop who want to try it all later. That way by the time they’re ten years old they can be thorougly marinated in liberal lifestyles and be “experienced” to know their way aroud a p#nis, a v@gin@, a str@p on and any and all variations and fascimiles thereof and be fine with trying any and all comers to see how they want to “identify” themselves or to keep on “questioning”. Perhaps those knots she‘s learned will come in handy with her lesbian dominatrix that she’s “questioning” about too? Idiot. I‘ve told you in the past but you’re unteachable….your banalities here are neither clever, nor witty.
