Shock Vid: Angry Man Attacks Disney Staffer, Gets Pepper-Sprayed Outside ‘Tower of Terror’ Ride

In what can only be described as a fit of extreme irony, Glenn Horlacher, 53, went horrifically ballistic outside of the Tower of Terror ride at Disney’s California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California. During the incident, Horlacher cursed, kicked fellow park guests, punched a security worker — and was subsequently pepper-sprayed.
The bizarre spectacle was caught on video and, predictably, the footage is going viral. Watch the raw video below (caution: violence and offensive language):
“Our security cast member was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for the injuries he sustained and then released,” said Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown. “We appreciate the actions of the guests who came to his aid during this uncharacteristic incident.”
There’s no word yet on what caused the man to go ballistic.

Posted on February 20, 2012 at 4:28pmDon’t be so sure about the “blameless society” bit…
I think it was a pretty AMAZING DISPLAY of “LIABILITY AVOIDANCE” on the par of Disney “security” who pepper sprayed the man, but, would not lift a finger to restrain the man, leaving it entirely to good samaritans who stood up and did what needed to be done to protect others.
I feel certain that the Disney “security” was TRAINED not to lay a finger on the guy.
I am surprised it took Disney as long as it did to move the crowd.
That would have been the SECOND thing I did… right after radio-ing for backup.
Thanks, good samaritans!

I’m quite certain that their security are trained exactly as you presume, just as all security personnel are that aren’t actual police in their day jobs. They aren’t actual law enforcement, so they do indeed open themselves up for civil lawsuits if they injure someone through their actions. The other guests aren‘t thinking about lawsuits because they don’t have multi billion dollar interests to protect.
As much as people might like them to be a company’s internal security personnel have no authority as law enforcement officers. They are nothing more than ordinary employees that have been given a t-shirt and the task of trying to verbally persuade people to stay in line.

Posted on February 20, 2012 at 7:00pmI’m thinking about Witney Houston and what surely will be the prosecution of the doctor who over medicated her, and the recent trial and conviction of Michael Jackson’s doctor. Yes, these doctors are no better than drug dealers w/ medical degrees, but the drug user is to blame for the result of their poor choices and actions. PERIOD! Michael and Witney were drug addicts, and drug addicts usually die from their poor choices.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 12:14amActually, I don’t blame him for swinging again at about 1:35. He was standing quietly trying to get the spray out of his eyes and the sprayer used him for a bit of vindictive target practice. The audience got a laugh – briefly.
At that point I might have done the same thing.
It will be interesting to hear what caused it all.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 12:42amWell, well.
Things are never quite as they first seem, are they.
It seems that Mr. Horlacher didn’t swing at any staff member, but was talking to a supervisor when the security guard came up. The guard refused to answer Mr. Horlacher’s inquiries, instead just stared at him malevolently.
The security guard said to Mr Horlacher, who is a decorated war veteran with PTSD, “You want a piece of me?” (twice).
When Mr Horlacher pushed said security guard away from him, the guard hit him on the left side of his head, and the fight was on.
This is the same guard that used Mr Horlacher’s streaming eyes as target practice when he was standing still and not threatening anyone.
And why did no-one tell that annoying blonde with the beer in her hand (and without children) to put a sock in it. It seems clear that Mr Horlacher was not the only one drinking at Disneyland.
He has been released with a citation.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 1:08pmI am an unarmed security guard. I don’t have any more police powers than any citizen. Unarmed security guards use good judgement in the use of force. Our training is to use only the amount of force to end an immediate threat with retreat as the first option. Deadly force is only used to protect life, not property or information.
I can‘t get the video so it isn’t clear what the guard did and didn’t do.

Posted on February 21, 2012 at 1:32pmYeah, isn’t it curious how Mr. Horlachers‘ side of the story isn’t told in the piece or what led up to the violence? I’ll tell you what, I would have laid that guard out who continued to spray pepper into his eyes. I wouldn‘t have fallen on my ass and that guard wouldn’t have gotten up off of his. While I was at it, I would have slapped the face off of that big mouth bitch with all of the venom in her voice and then waded into anyone who came to her defense. If a bunch of grinning, smart-ass punks are going to try to take me down like that, they are going to remember it for a good long while. I’ll wipe those smiles right off their desperately ignorant faces.

I believe the only parks you can get it in is EPCOT and then the Downtown Disney area…. I know the Rose and Crown Pub (UK EPCOT) sells ale … from experience .. it is very good!

Posted on February 20, 2012 at 3:12pmDisney is about pushing liberal gay agendas than families now.
Also One small park -OK.
But Disney ruined thousands of acres of land by filling them with stupid theme parksl. I’ve visited Disney parks in Florida twice & once to California Disney as a young adult years ago bec. I didn’t go as a child. My parents were right – BORING!
My children never went to a single American Disney park – they never asked/not interested. I did drag them to Disney Park in France when we were stationed in Europe. People from every country in the world packed in /no one spoke English- find a bathroom for a child quickly if even the park employee speak limited English & you are not near a sign. What made the trip WORTHLESS/ HORRIBLE was the line cheating by almost 100% of people. You can stand in line for 4-5 HOURS while strangers from the Middle East and England, German, French, etc. people duck under the cloth ropes in front of you. Only the Japanese tourists never jumped lines. I cut off an Italian family from cutting in front of me – SIMPLY put my arm out – NO!!! He cursed me in Italian & I gave him the universal middle finger. Everyone LOL. Some people starting standing up to the cheaters after that but it was still bad.
Mickey Mouse is almost as creepy as Ronald McDonald & both are only a little less creepy than that defunct Burger King “king” mascot.
I feel sorry for homeowners who were stuck with having one of these useless parks built near them.

Posted on February 20, 2012 at 9:15pmOk, guys, how about a little homework before you go on little rants. First of all, Disney doesn’t organize the ”Gay Pride” days there, that is organized by non-associated gay groups and it is completely out of their control. But did you know that they also actually host a real Christmas celebration each year in EPCOT where the story of Jesus is actually told? I went one year and got to see Kirk Cameron on stage in the park preaching Jesus to thousands of viewers. Of course Disney isn’t perfect, but they aren’t the evil demons you morons make them out to be.
And as for the ”anti-hunting propaganda”, again, you don’t know what your talking about at all. Magic Kingdom has several shooting arcades around the park where you fire at animals and various objects, as well as museums and restaurants and museums filled with movie props and stuffed skins from the old Disney Davy Crockett series, which famously sang ”Killed him a bear when he was only three”. Doesn’t sound like ”anti-gun propaganda” to me.

Posted on February 20, 2012 at 1:34pmWow… We are going next week too bad you can’t carry there. I have never heard of anything like this happening at Disney. Usually there are many, many undercover “agents”. I can’t believe it went on this long. All that money people pay for the “safety” of Disney has me wondering if they are “cutting back” in security. If it wasn’t for these few brave teenagers who knows what would have ensued! Thank God there are still some young folk with common sense…

That’s by design (just think “Obama and the complicit Liberal Media”):
“Subverting the Disney Legacy — How Michael Eisner Has Transformed the ‘Magic Kingdom’ ”
