Shock Vid Shows North Koreans in ‘Mass Mourning’

Last night, news spread around the globe that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il is dead. The “Supreme Leader,” who has ruled for years with fierce brutality, passed away this weekend from heart failure.

Following the leader’s death, North Koreans participated in a mass mourning of sorts, according to state-run news. In fact, a startling video was released by North Korean media showcasing the intense emotional pain that citizens have purportedly been experiencing in Pyongyang.

Here’s the footage:

Considering the organization and intensity seen in the video and the brutal nature of North Korea’s government, it’s natural to wonder how sincere these lamentations are. Are they being forced? Was this video staged? These are legitimate questions.

Then again, the blind and excessive devotion to Jong-il was documented by journalist Lisa Ling when she made a rare trip into North Korea back in 2009. A National Geographic special hosted by Ling and featuring footage from inside the secretive country corroborates the intense love many felt for the leader. As Ling proclaims in the introduction to the fascinating special, Jong-il ruled as a “god king.”

Watch the documentary, below:

    a lot of dry eyes and hiding of faces. Staged.
    they have to play ball or else be sent to the re-education camps in the hills of which you never graduate.
    Scary what giving government too much power can do to the masses.
    Think about this the next time you pull the lever.

      These leaders should be taken out without a big deal as in the middle east conflict that took so many of our military.
      people should not suffer the way people in NK do, esp the children.
      We may not be the world’s police, but we are all on this planet together and the most vulnerable should be protected.
      Instead we have leaders like obama going on $4mil vacations..

      Really?? Look, not to be overly critical because I probably agree with your opinions but please do us all a favor and don’t call anyone a “stupid, uneducated mass” if you don’t even know the rules of pluralizing words, capitalization, or punctuation (like when and how to use apostrophies or commas, or that there are only three periods in an elipsis.)

      Most of that is third grade stuff.

      Your post should have read: “Looks just like the same stupid, uneducated mass that follows Obama & the Democrats…”

      By God, please don‘t show your own ignorance while you’re calling someone else a moron. That doesn’t help any of us.

      Many reactions appear faked with tears noticeably absent. Yet, in their hearts most know or at least expect that conditions will only get worse. Just as Saddam Hussein and sons, Uday and Qusay, were weapons of mass destruction the late Kim Jong Il and his spawns of Satan strike fear in all who live in this freezing land mass of wretched poverty and daily starvation. Our troops in the South are on high alert so let’s keep them in our thoughts. A special “Cho shim hae!” to my fellow Skivvy-Niners in Osan.

      Snowleopard, if the North Korean military actually attacked South Korea, it would be a last half-gasp offensive. The N.K. military has mostly Vietnam era aircraft and armor and their troops are starving ALMOST as much as the civilian population. N.K. fighter aircraft are dragged to the runway by oxen and fueled just enough to take-off and circle their airfield a couple times before having to land, and that’s N.K. stick-time for once, maybe twice a year.
      The only way the N.K.’s will win a conflict is by sheer, overwhelming numbers.

      Expect to see dour faces and quivering lips on ABC, CBS, MSNBC and CNN.
      Not so much on FOX.

      For those who need a explainati. This is a quote from Former Fox News producer Charlie Reina, “The roots of Fox News Channel’s day-to-day on-air bias are actual and direct. They come in the form of an executive memo distributed electronically each morning, addressing what stories will be covered and, often, suggesting how they should be covered. To the newsroom personnel responsible for the channel’s daytime programming, The Memo is the Bible. If, on any given day, you notice that the Fox anchors seem to be trying to drive a particular point home, you can bet The Memo is behind it.”

      Hi G.E.R., thanks for the “explainati”.

      All news outlets, newspapers, radio, television, have memos that direct content. Do you think that folks at those places wander around aimlessly until something happens?

      You were told to hate Fox, so you dutifully hate Fox, we get it. Seriously, we get it dude. You don’t know why you hate Fox of course, not actually watching it yourself, but you are firm in your convictions that have been taught to you by others who want you to feel special. We all understand.

      I can‘t help but note that you don’t really say a lot about the actual story here either. Fling poo and run, how mature big guy.

      Here’s something to noodle though: these people live in a nation that follows the precepts of Leftism down to the letter, with every “I” dotted and every “T” crossed. This is your Nirvana, the thing your superiors tell you to strive for. This has to be a sad day for the Left I’d imagine. My condolences. :)

      True that Fox news has joined all other news outlets to worship dear leader who many times has been refered to as a “GOD” by his worshipers such as yourself GER. You don’t get anymore state controlled than atheists running the media calling a president God. Just recently we have witnessed many saying he should be “President for life”. No bias there. I guess it makes sense seeing all that he has done for his worshipers. Just like Kim Jong IL.

      @Ghost

      There’s actually nothing to say about the story. The man is dead…so what. In no way shape or form does his death have an impact on my life. And frankly I really don’t care.

      @Neofan

      There are these things called books and inside them there are facts about all sorts of things. If you take the time to open one on Asian history. You will be able to read about how asians for almost 5,000 years have referred to their emperors and leaders in some divine way.

      @G.E.R

      If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t have browsed the article in the first place, and then bothered to post. If you really don’t care, then what’s your purpose here; to belittle? To mock? Is that it, that’s how you choose to spend your day is it?

      And the article isn’t about him “just being dead”, it’s about the mind numbed robotic cult of personality “grieving”. Personally I find it a fascinating glimpse into the rarified ideal world of the Left. What a horror story.

      WOW you’re quite the pseudo intellectual. I‘m curious as to how much time you spend in front of the mirror trying to convince yourself of the delusion that you’re all that

    If those demonstrations of sympathy are for real then the actors and actresses here in the US and abroad should be aware because they are good. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that others dont need a gun pointed at their head to show emotion. Rot in hell you little excuse for a human being.
