Shocking cell phone video has emerged from yesterday’s destructive storms in Dallas, TX. At least one tornado was confirmed, and Eric Meyers caught it on tape. The screaming leaves little doubt of where Meyers is, “We are in the tornado!”:
From CNN:
Authorities in northeast Texas were assessing damage Monday morning after a tornado destroyed homes, knocked train cars off their tracks and injured at least four people.
Five homes in Rice, Texas, were destroyed as 125 mph winds whipped through a seven-mile swath of Navarro County Sunday evening, said Eric Meyers, the county’s emergency management coordinator.
Meyers rode out the tornado inside a vehicle and videotaped the twister as it tore the roof off a school about a block away.
“We are in the tornado! We are in the tornado!” Meyers yells several times in the video.
“The sheer power was just amazing,” Meyers said in an interview Monday on CNN’s “American Morning” program.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 11:59ammy friend called me from near Rice, Texas, as her kids had watched it go by their house. Amazingly, we live one hour northwest of them, and our skies were CLEAR ! I had to call it up on the weather sites to see the storm cells. The tornado was hidden in rain when it hit the interstate. I-45 so I don’t think people could tell how serious it was.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 11:07amWe had a twister a few days ago here in Phoenix, saw it come down only a couple of blocks away, people were watching it and wondering what it was. I was trying to get them inside and away from the area, telling them and shouting at them, while they just stood about admiring it.
Thank God it did not hit here, people never cease to amaze me at times just how little they really comprehend certain dangers.

I know I know, they say to not try to outrun a tornado, but I’ve lived in Tornado Alley all my life and that tornado was clearly 1 you can see ahead of time enough to get out of the way.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:41amAfter watching this, I came to the conclusion that as stupid as this guy was, the driver of the car going in the opposite direction (21 seconds into the video) is even more of an idiot. He drove right past the base. It‘s not like you couldn’t see this coming.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:00amI love how he thinks he’s “in the tornado” when you can actually see it in the distance in the video. And yea, your right Susan, they might want to re-think there current emergency management coordinator, IMO. Being THAT close to a tornado, he’s lucky to be alive!

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 9:49amThis guy is a bubble short of level, not the brightest light on the tree. In other words, he wasn’t thinking! The LAST place to be in a tornado is in ones car! Forget the tornado picking up his car, hes lucky the wood flying around didn’t come through his car and kill him! And this guy is the county’s emergency management coordinator? I think the county might want to rethink that!

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:11amSimple point to the video from my perspective…see tornado coming and you run to hide in another direction below ground. Forget the car and the houses, get under cover, you only have one single life on this world.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:17amLooked at that video a couple of more times, it seems the tornado is actually passing by in front of them, not over them, so his statement of “I’m in the tornado” is a little off…probably why he is somehow still alive – besides the grace of God himself.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 11:19amFor some people their dog is all they have. For an out of control government to focus on this poor old man, highlights just how out of control our leaders are. Instead of focusing on an old man and his dog, maybe they should focus on the gangs in the neighborhood, JOBS, or here is a thought, all those crooked politicians who break laws daily, and those who break their oath of office and thumb their nose at the constitution. Let’s investigate this further and see if we can’t find out who gave the order to MURDER the dog and why. Surly we could find a small piece of justice for this old man and his friend.
Let’s give this old man JUSTICE:

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 11:49amApparently that guy…right there taking the video….yeah, he was in the tornado. He said he was so it must be true. But not really right? I mean if he was not crapping his pants he might have been more factual regarding the actual distance between his car and the tornado. He was near a tornado, way too close to a tornado for my comfort zone but he wasn’t in the tornado because not once did we hear that scary music that we know comes from the tornado that we saw in the wizard of oz. In a tornado..humph!

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 12:59pmFor those who say he *wasn’t really* in the tornado …he actually was. He was on the outer edge of it, not within the core of it but, none-the-less, he *was in fact* “in the tornado”. He was within the circular motion of debris around the outer edge of the tornado.
