Shocking Vid: NYC Homeless Man Stabbed Multiple Times in Front of Cops

Harlem Knife Attack Caught on Video

On the heels of the video of a man beating customers at McDonald’s with a metal rod comes more shocking video out of New York City. This one, taken on Monday afternoon, shows a man stabbing a homeless man in the neck as cops look on in horror.

“He just literally pulls out a pocket knife and starts stabbing the man in the neck like a couple of times,” a witnessed told the New York Daily News about the attack that occurred in Harlem.

Harlem Knife Attack Caught on Video

“He just kept saying, ‘You owe me money! You owe me money,’” the witness added.

In the video, a bystander can be heard imploring the police. “Hit him with something! Hit him!” the person says. “He’s stabbing him!”

The Daily News describes more of what happened:

About a dozen cops from the nearby 23rd Precinct stationhouse rushed to the scene, drawing their weapons and order the suspect to drop his knife even as he continued to stab the victim.

Four or five toddlers with their nannies were among the more than 20 people to witness the bloodshed in front of a synagogue and steps from two public schools and a day care center.

Police had no immediate comment on the attack. The names of the victim and suspects were not released.

The short video shows cops eventually stepping in and dragging the attacker off the victim, while the victim sits up visibly dazed.

You can watch the scene unfold below (CONTENT WARNING for graphic images):

By the way, are you, like me, wondering why the police didn’t step in sooner or use nonlethal force (or even lethal) to stop the attack?

Protect and serve? Every homeless person has a constitutional right to defend himself. Mayor Bloomberg or Bloomstein should provide security or allow the homeless to carry a gun with free ammo courtesy of the city.

Shalom … and keep the ammo dry!

One must always remember….the police are Law Enforcement Officers. Not Crime Fighters.
The law says it is unlawful to kill another human being.
The penalty for doing so is imprisonment or death.
The police are there to enforce the law…i.e, investigate a crime, find a perpetrator, make an arrest and build a case to present to the prosecutor. Punishment will then be meted out.

The police are not there to stop crimes or even protect you from those who would break the law.

The man is being stabbed. Hasn’t NYPD heard about authorized use of deadly force, or does that only apply when the perp only has a cell phone in this hand? This should have ended very early on with 147 grains to the head. Hopefully the homeless man will sue the crap out of NYPD for not stopping this as it resulted in additional injury to him. This is grossly unsatisfactory conduct on the part of NYPD.

I noticed that virtually all of the police vehicles no longer have the old “To Protect and To Serve” painted on them, so I asked about it…I was told (by an official) that the motto was no longer pertinent, nor effective. He said that with the numbers of police in all cities/towns, there has never been enough police (in number) to effectively carry out that statement!

Why the hell didn’t the cops shoot the perp as soon as they saw the knife? Unbelieveable!!

“Lead” has now become a precious commodity; make certain you have enough! Defending youself, family, and anyone else who needs it is the only sane attitude to have…

I guess this puts the lie to Biden’s belief that cops can stop any crime in action. All they are really good at is picking up the pieces after the crime is committed, and this is just more proof. If they can’t stop this happening right in front of them, how could they get a 911 call and respond to a sexual attack before the woman is raped? How can they stop a robbery if the suspect already has their gun in the clerk’s face?

The NYPD had to stop and double-glove! Don’t you know how much AIDS is floating around that city? Also, ripping a stabber off a victim is sure to do more damage as the knife is pulled out! If you’re ever stabbed, leave it in until you get to a competent medical facility! Maybe, they should have just popped (shot) the perpetrator in the head and stopped the crime right then and there! No wasted expense of an arrest, booking, jail, court hearings, court appointed lawyer, conviction and free room and board for the next 10 years!

Just as guilty are the by-standers who also did nothing to intervene.
It‘s easy to blame the cops since they are obviously armed and it’s their ‘job’… but freedom and defense of others is the responsibility of every person in this country, if not the world.

We NEED to protect ourselves and we do not need that big a force…what so they can give us tickets or stand by and watch chaos? Let’s cut the forces everywhere…have only investigative forces and that will save us lots of money… This is all INSANITY. If one sees another being hurt/killed, one has a moral obligation to step in. There is never a case when a police officer is accused of brutality that it isn’t warranted. All they had to do was to hit him up a few times in the upper region with the same club they hit unarmed civilians. Cops are such cowards. And don’t get me wrong, I know they have an extremely dangerous job to do. Problem is, the force keeps hiring COWARDS to do this job. Instead of hiring brave men who are willing to defend the nation.

This clearly looks like a situation where the cops are wanting to intervene, but not being sure to what extent they can legally or politically intervene. They had weapons drawn, but there is a crowd around and filming going on. In NYC with cameras rolling, if they shoot, it then becomes a situation where they are being accused of being too quick to resort to deadly violence. In the video, it wasnt clear to me that the guy was in the act of stabbing. It looked like the guy was lying on top of him, although it was obvious from the blood that he’d been cut at least. I’m just saying it was hard to discern if the perpetrator was actively stabbing or cutting him at the time of the filming. It’s worth pointing out that the officer DID pull the guy off of him eventually. I‘d hate to be a NYPD police officer in today’s environment.

I disagree slightly. The problem is more with the individual behind the badge. There are too many instances where cops think they have more authroity than they really do by law and abuse their position by being to brutal in situations that are totally uncalled for where their life and the life of others are not or were not threatened in anyway. They simply lost their cool and took out their anger/frustrations on the person because they could and short of video cameras would typically get away with it. On the flip side, there are many instances where cops were slow to act when force was called upon or necessary because of their own uncertainty etc. Needless to say there are many great officers out there, unfortunately, it only takes a few instances like this or a few bad apples with attitudes to make headlines and make the already tough job even tougher on the good guys. The real problem is that we are living in an ever increasing police state with more and more laws and with more and more intrusion into our lives in very unconstitutional ways and the officers as part of their training are being indoctrinated against are guaranteed freedoms and liberties to the point that some of them feel they can force you to do or say almost anything, which of course they cannot.

You are absolutely right on that. Retired last year after 26 1/2 with a NY Agency. I was petrified sometimes because of the Monday AM Quarterbacking superiors would do all they way up to Albany. It just seemed if you did something you never did it the right (Their) way. So you always were justifying yourself in more and more after action reporting. Your Incident report or arrest report were never enough, never good enough. I had guys that told me they wouldn’t lift a finger to help anyone until the violence stopped and there was just a victim left. They were afraid of the Sharptoon, and Jackassons showing up to yell about profiling or some other crap. They simply were waiting for their time to get to the pension.
They many times thanked the courts for this ruling:
On June 27, in the case of Castle Rock v. Gonzales, the Supreme Court found that Jessica Gonzales did not have a constitutional right to police protection, even in the presence of a restraining order.

By a vote of 7-to-2, the Supreme Court ruled that Gonzales has no right to sue her local police department for failing to protect her and her children from her estranged husband.
Remember your safety and that of your family is of YOUR CONCERN… The Cops are not obligated by law to lift a finger to help.

Yep, can‘t use a taser WHEN IT’S JUSTIFIED, but when a little old lady “disobays” a “lawful” order from a peace officer, she’s tased??? What the hell wrongs with this country!!??

@GEOMANN: Yes sir, jump right in there, but consider the following: (1) Guy with the knife stabbs you with bloody knife and you develop AIDS. (2) Knifer and victim both attack you. (3) Police arrive and assume you are one of the attackers. (4) Police arrive and taze or shoot knifer and /or you and / or victim [ Stray bullet hits anyone involved.] (5) Out of town visiter with their firearm shoots you and knifer. (6) Knifer‘s buddy arrives and stabbs or shoots you to ’ rescue ‘ partner. This could go on and on. Police are trained to keep a certain distance from a knifer. Once this incident was under control, a cop will put on a biohazard suite with face shield and gloves and THEN treat the victim until paramedics arrive. I encourage everyone who might just jump into a situation like this to contact your local law enforcement agency and ask to attend a citizens’ class on law enforcement. If your local law enforcement agency does not have a citizens’ class, find out wht they do not !

@ Delta : the cops can handle a little old woman but don’t have the NADS to stand up to real crimminals. There just bullies and are afraid of the ACLU or the NAACP.

The police are afraid to use force because they will be the ones blamed, no matter what. But if they will be blamed no matter what, someone should have shot the guy with the knife with a gun or a taser at least, or maybe pulled out the stick and clubbed him one time. DO SOMETHING….

I pack everywhere I go because I’m a free man. Whether TSHTF or not, in times of peace or in tension, I pack.

I don’t expect my fellow man to harm me, but I carry because the chance does exist for it to occur. I also place a fire extinguisher in my kitchen pantry, not because I expect a daily flame out on my stove, rather because I wish to have the tool necessary at hand in case a fire does occur.

It’s always good to have the tools at hand to handle a situation, whether it ever occurs or not. Better to have a tool than not need it, than need a tool and not have it.

All of their responses were a joke even after they stopped the bad man, they would not touch the guy bleeding to death. When people lose everything, they lose it (Celente). Its getting worse be the day. Our economy is imploding piece by piece. Is this the slow ride down, where is the sudden drop off?

Oh come on now. Obama has done a lot of wrong, but people stabbing others on the street (or shooting them) long predates not only his presidency, but his birth. It’s part of the human condition, and no one person is to blame. Hell dude, there are even the occasional murders in Amish communities.

The police’s hands have been tied by civil rights lawyers to the point where they are handicapped in dealing with blacks. They should have just gotten back in their cars and left let the lawlessness that transpires from black community so what they reap for defending and idolizing criminals. Maybe they will realize(if they ever will) that defending criminals(because of their skin) is sowing the seeds of evil.
Until then let them reep what they sow.

I enjoyed hearing the guy off camera repeatedly yelling, “Hit him in the head!” No cop wants to get filmed hitting a suspect no matter what happened to cause it. Every officer knows the first part of any such video will be cut and the only thing that will be shown on the TV screen will be the cop hitting a blood-splattered defenseless ethnic minority over and over and over.

Listen to me my people: the things you are witnessing going on in the world is unto the parting of the Red Sea. You are seeing the Seas of people getting divided into the left, and right, and you are getting presented with a dry-ground in the middle. Further and further back the sea will be divided, and you choose, but choose wisely.

Unfortunately, I saw the Chinese girl video as well. I chalked it up to a society living without the knowledge of Christ. I think this falls in to the same category. The Chinese have an excuse as teaching about Christ has been outlawed by the communists. What’s our excuse? Sadly, we have none.

This is exactly what I would expect in NY. My sister isn’t even allowed to have a stun gun to protect herself. And the officers would certainly have been justified in shooting this disgusting POS if he didn’t obey their commands to stop. And this is the exact reason I will not even VISIT New York. No one is safe there. And you will be the one going to jail if you fight back and protect yourself. You might even have to support the little POSs for life if you maim them when they attack you, and give them a brain injury!!!!!!!!!
