Shocking Vid: Uncle Whips His Nephew for ‘Gangster’ Facebook Posts

One thing is clear in the following video: this uncle does not want his nephew joining a gang, or others thinking the boy is in one. While that is a noble end, the uncle’s means are causing gasps across the country.

Below is a video reportedly showing an uncle whipping his nephew for some gangster-like postings on Facebook. After tearing apart his nephew verbally for the posts, the uncle then begins whipping him numerous times with a belt. And he taped the whole thing.

According to KRIV, “The overwhelming majority of comments about the video applaud what the uncle did. They commended his tough actions in a tough situation.”

    HERO!!! This uncle may have well saved this young mans life. One day this child will recount this ass whipping to his own children and laugh… the children he may statistically speaking not have been around to have had this uncle not CARED enough to make a stand.

      The taping and posting on Facebook was for the shame factor. Does anyone remember when we used to be ashamed? Back before Jerry Springer and the Let it all hang out liberals/progressives took over. Teenage pregnancy was hidden not paraded for the world to see! Homosexuality was not marched down the main street of town as a Pride celebration! It was shame. Shame that you brought upon yourself and your family due to your actions. Good for this man in an attempt to save this boy from the gangst lifestyle. As far as his use of profanity he used those words like an artist of salty language! Judge him by his actions and not his words. Society owes this man a debt of gratitude for stepping up and doing what needed to be done!

    I can’t imagine the heartache and fear parents like this uncle have faced with a child that age appearing to get involved in gangs or ganglike activity. The gangs will use this exact method to push his nephew into a gang, meaning a regular beatdown if he refuses. How does a parent counter the very real fear incentives the gangs deploy. I don’t know the best answer to this, but I do know if this young man gets involved with gangs he will be dead or in prison within a couple of years, a much worse fate then a belt. I also know that if he does get involved in violent activity and is caught everyone will say the parent should have done something to stop him, just as they are saying know in Arizona. So until we find ourselves in this mans nightmare let’s not be to quick to condemn him.

    I applaud the Uncle, this is what happened to most if not all of us when we were kids if we did something wrong/unacceptable- not the type of dicipline kids of today have, Hell, today, the only punishment kid’s receive is loss of cell phone/computer/tv!

    The uncle used both physical switching as well as humiliation. Probably would have been more effective to lose the use of computer, or access to facebook, both are logical consequences (directly related to behavior).

      Really? In NY gang initiations are bloody, disfiguring, and deadly- I don’t see how restricting his computer would have compared to someone having their faced sliced by a box cutter.
      Once these kids are initiated, they turn to drug dealing, stealing, breaking into homes. They drop out of school and eventually end up in jail- the uncle was spot on, in his heart was to save this kids life.

      Sorry, I disagree. Not only was the discipline appropriate but I would have taken the computer away as well as access to facebook. This kid was headed to much more violence in an initiation and further gang activity. He needed his uncle to let him know that the consequences of his actions would be severe because if he hadn’t the kid could easily end up dead. The kid was not naked so no real harm done. Just taking away privileges would not counter the lure of the gang. Kudos to the uncle,too many parents are scared of their kids. When I was teaching I used to have parents ask me to take measures that the parents should have done because they were too chicken or too busy trying to be their kids friend instead of their parent and wanted someone else to be the heavy. I used to ask the parents. Shall I take him home and raise him myself,do you want to sign him over to me? Just a minute and I’ll get the paperwork for you. They’d do their own job pretty fast then.

      So if the kid threatened someone with a gun, would you just take the gun away (directly related to the behavior); or what if he had beat someone up at school, do you just take the use of his hands away (directly related to the behavior); or how about been caught using drugs, just confiscate and hope he doesn’t get more? What that boy needed was as Bill Cosby says “I don’t do that no more ’cause that makes my butt hurt”. And as for humiliation, it was EXACTLY what that boy needed, his uncle obviously loves him and is doing his job. APPLAUD

      I totally agree with you! I still have the utmost respect for my parents who if I did something like this or was to get arrested by the police, I would have rather stayed in jail than call my parents, for fear & respect! Respect of damaging our name in the community etc. I believe if more families were held accountable or looked down on for the individuals in those families (like how it used to be or still is in small towns or other countries) that it would cut down on a lot of the crime & other issues! Problem is no one wants to be responsible for their own family anymore even! I don’t necessarily 100% agree with the uncles method & it being plastered on the internet but at least someone is being responsible for their families actions!

      I agree with both of you but will take it one step further… parents stopped being parents when the left intervened into discipline at school which then extended into discipline at home… and turned the Politically correct dogs against the parents in the early eighties with all of this positive reinforcement parenting.. ( think Al Frankens alter ego Stuart form the 80′s), then brainwashed the kids to call the cops on their own parents if they were ever to get a whipping at home…. nowadays kids come out of the womb complete with a lawyer that sucks on the unoccupied tit… and if you insult that kid, much less whip that kid your going to jail….

      I got the bright idea once to break my switch every 6 inches or so to make it not swing as hard. Of course, momma was smarter and as soon as that first swing failed she said “ok, now I’M gomma get a switch!”

      I used to get a sawed-off broom stick to the shins. Seeing mom come at me would always make me crack up but then the pain set in and the tears rolled.

      One end was wrapped in black electrical tape and ‘Lickin Stick’ written on it with black marker. It had a special place in the kitchen corner.

      I respectfully disagree. This might have just saved this young mans life or future. As harsh as this might seem his uncle has a point as he stated “we do not come from this”. Popular culture is a factor that makes it hard for young people to fit in. Kids are up against a lot today.

      Oh, I believe this is EPIC parenting! that ‘boy’ is more of a “grown man”, and his Uncle is trying to take him out of ‘grown boyhood”. He is whipping is ass more symbolically (no way he felt those belt stoops like a 10 year old would) and threatened to “stomp his ass” if he ever caught him in a gang. Sounds to me like the uncle knows from experience and is TEACHING from experience. All you crying about how this was abuse, think about the alternative. The kid joins a gang and spends the rest of his life either in “the system” (prison) or fearing for his life on the streets, prolly not living past 28.
      On rare and “special” occations, my mom would whip my ass silly with a belt and I learned the lesson well. And you don’t see me on Oprah crying about how I was abused and that is the cause of my disfunction! Nope! That‘s all Sarah Palin’s fault!

      I think the guy got his point across. What the kid was doing was unacceptable behavior. My dad used similar tactics when I got going wrong. It worked for me, it worked for my brothers. Mamby pampy would definately not have worked for us. Fear of getting out of line and what would happen worked.

      I disagree. As long as this is not everyday fare for the kid and the ass whoopin‘ isn’t deminished or discounted as just another spanking, then it is effective parenting.
      Joining a gang is an extremely bad idea and extremely bad ideas usually have extremely bad consequences.
      Joining gangs usually requires some kind of inniation like “jumping in” or commiting a crime. “Discipline” in gangs usually involves a gunshot or hand cuffs.
      This kid will probably have friends that will join gangs and some of those friends will probably be killed or caged for gang-related activities.
      Down the road, this kid may look back on this day and the youtube video, and be thankful that his uncle’s belt stood between him and being in a gang. I think one day that this kid will be glad that his uncle helped him dodge a bullet-literally and figuratively. THAT is what effective parenting is.

      Two things.

      1) At least this kids uncle is doing what he’s suppose to (which should be the job of the parents) and keeping track of what the kid is doing.
      2) The kid is being punished for bad behavior, and being made to take responsibility for his actions. Something that many in society today, have been trying to regulate away.

      Good for the uncle, there are a lot of parents now adays who could learn something from this video. A little spanking now, goes a long ways in reducing pain later.

      On a very serious note, I hope this kid learns his lesson. Posting this on youtube and his facebook page may have VERY serious consequenses for the kid, and he may be planning revenge. I PRAY this is not the case. If he learns and walks a straight path, He may be ok in the future. If he is biter, then this may have all been for naught, and even less than naught. If you are reading our posts here, kid, just know that we (most of us) have been through something like this in our lives and we made it successfully through. Take your Uncle’s actions to heart and learn. KNOW that he did this because he loves you and only wants the best for you and get through it. Embarrassment is temporary, lessons to the good are lifelong.

      This young man, will remember this. That’s the point. There are consequences to our actions, and growing up with the occasional butt-whipping spares you from future pain. I completely agree with the uncle’s stance on the subject.

      My father had a long fuse, sometimes I would push hard, when I caught hell it was swift and to the point, afterward he would go off to pray. I was scornful at the time, but it probably saved me the beatings I DESERVED. LOL

      All of your candy-ass liberal BS won’t do it – God Bless this uncle for caring enough to take a belt to the kid. Unfortunately, the Banger’s on both sides will see him as an enemy – the kid is in a hard spot. The uncle should do his best to get him out of that hood. It’s easier to move than to go to a funeral.
      Is the kid old enough to get in the Military? Is there another relative he can stay with?

      Kids today are not up against anymore today than those in past generations.. I applaud this Uncle.. I don‘t know WHERE this boys parents were it could be a few things like he thought he’d handle it and NOT tell the kids parents OR the uncle is raising him.. whatever.. HE stepped up to the plate.. IF more adults weren’t so busy being scared of their kids and the bleeding hearts MAYBE we could raise some HONORABLE KIDS.. Never was this kid PUNCHED, KICKED or anything more than his EGO hurt.. my kids have had their butts beat.. although I did it BEFORE they got that big.. and I always told my boys they would NEVER be to big for me to spank, if necessary I would get a broom and bring them down to my size.. let me tell you.. I never had to do it but they believed me.. It’s amazing that now both have kids of their own they VERY MUCH understand.. as my son told my grandson one day.. Do you honestly think the “boy” in question has never heard that word before? And assuming, as i have that he has, dontcha think his Uncle’s use was MORE than appropriate here? His Nephew was considering joining a gang. He found out and had to take despirate meassures to dissuade him from that lifestyle. Having issues with the Uncle saying the “F” word is mamby-pamby and counter productive to the proper disciplining of this “boy”

      man that kid was bigger than his uncle. i want to shake that dudes hand. As far as it being effective parenting, that kid was at least 14 or so had to be, old enough to know better. Sometimes an ass whippin is the only thing that gets threw, sad but true, people can be hard headed like that, especially family.

      Sometimes ‘tough love’ is necessary when raising immature, young and rebellious youth.
      This ‘Uncle’ is trying to keep his ‘Nephew’ on a straight path. Something that‘s getting harder and harder for parent’s to do nowadays in such a ‘politically correct’ world that ”seriously lacks” common sense.

      I whole hardingly disagree !!!!! That was nothing compared to when I grew up !!! YOU REMEMBERED your lickin forever !!! And you know what ? I am one lucky guy that learned early on. These kids today show the results of pampering… And on top of that , a gang ???? If that were my kids, his a** would have been bare and that belt would have been a willow stick !!!       I applaud the uncle. Way to nip it in the butt. (no pun intended) I don’t think he went over board in this situation, we need more uncles, aunts, parents, and grandparents this concerned and watchful over their kid’s Facebook postings. I bet in 10 or 15 years this kid will thank his uncle. If more parents did this there would be fewer gangs.

      This is why I hate Facebook. They blow everything out of proportion when anyone posts something on there. I used to get whipped all the time, but you know what? It worked. I can see where the uncle is coming from, but he didn’t have to post it on that site. Everyone is making too big a deal out of this.

      There’s alot of difference between a spanking and a whipping. If the kid had been kept in line from the start the beating would probably not have been necessary.
      Spare the rod spoil the child.
      I spanked my kid when he was younger and I only had to do it a couple of times. Children need to know there are consequences for their actions.

      The Uncle may have just saved this young man’s life. Harsh as it may seem, being gunned down, or spending life in prison would be harder.

      So now maybe the young man will grow up, choose some different friends and came out the other end a man.

      Also, good on this Uncle for monitoring what this young man was doing on Facebook – as site, which has to be about one of the most destrcutive forces on the Internet.

      I’ll bet if we had more father-figures like this we wouldn‘t have nearly the problems we’re having today, particularly in the black community. Despite the bad language, it’s obvious he gives a darn enough to do this. Hopefully the boy will do something with his life.

      BTW, untameable-kate, I totally agree with you. All three of mine got their butt warmed up now and then; the bad behavior changed very quickly.

      Nothing wrong with making your point and the kid wasn’t hurt anyways. Ass-whoopins given consistently will eventually go away as the kid will get the point and act correctly. Kudos for the uncle for making HIS point and not tolerating this garbage BUT I wouldn’t broadcast this as that kid will have to live with the embarassment where it is not warranted. All in all I am glad to see spankings and whoopins still going on as alot of kids could be quickly straightened up with consistent parenting instead of the liberal version of time out and empty threats.

      Have to agree with “most” of the commentors…this uncle is trying to keep his nephew out of the gang life…because if that young man goes “gangin” he’s gonna get alot worse than a few licks on his toushie…my husband only had to “whoop” our children a few times when they were little…and they got the message….be good or else…my husband and I love our children VERY much….scripture is right on spot with this issue…spare the rod spoil the child…and all the other proverbs for bringing up your children…good stuff!

      Uncle has the courage to stand up and do what the boy needs. The boy was obviously NOT hurt in the video, embarrassed, oh my yes, he was embarrassed, but NOT hurt. Uncle is standing for his nephew even when he might get castigated for it. Good for Uncle! No, I don’t whip my children, but if one of them started trying to hang out with and adopt the modes and behaviors of gang members? I’d at least scoop them up and run for the hills. By my estimation, that Uncle has more courage than most parents today. GO UNCLE!!

      If the nephew is stepping up to gang activity and the very adult crimes that go along with it, it is absolutely appropriate to knock him down a notch and humble his silly butt. Drastic measures were required as gang banging is no joke.
