Shocking Vid: Wis. HS Students Admit Teachers Bringing Them to Protests but Don‘t Know Why They’re There

As Wisconsin unions rally to protest Gov. Scott Walker‘s emergency budget proposal that would get rid of most of the state workers’ collective bargaining privileges, video posted on YouTube appears to show teachers pulling high school students into the conflict.
The video, taken by Wisconsin’s conservative MacIver Institute, shows students from Madison‘s East High School claiming their teachers brought them to protests at the State Capitol and also openly admitting that they really don’t know why they’re there:
High school students in Wisconsin have staged walk-outs in support of their teachers over the last two days, much to the delight of liberal sites such as The Nation and the blog of the AFL-CIO.
The Appleton Post Crescent reports on some of those walk-outs:
Incensed by Gov. Scott Walker’s plan to end most collective bargaining rights from teachers and other public employees, about 200 Appleton East High School students filed out of class at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday chanting, “Save our teachers, save our school.”
Similar protests occurred Tuesday in school districts across Wisconsin, including large walkouts in Platteville, Sheboygan and Stoughton.
John Matthews, who heads the Madison teachers union, asked the school superintendent to close schools today because few teachers and staff represented by the union will be present.
Classes in some Madison schools were in fact canceled because 40 percent of the 2,600 members in the teacher bargaining unit had called in sick.
On Tuesday, The Nation, the home of revolutionary-lover Frances Fox Piven, praised the high school students:
Even before the protests hit the state’s capital, about a hundred high school students in Stoughton, Wisconsin, a city about 20 miles outside of Madison, walked out of class Monday morning to protest the governor’s proposal. And today, nearly 800 Madison East High School students also walked out to join the demonstration.
“Let’s show Gov. Walker that we care about learning, and the teachers are worth every cent that we pay to them,” Theron Luhn, a high school junior who helped organize the protest in Stoughton Monday, told one of the local newspapers The Capital Times.
So, too, did the AFL-CIO. “The students have been so energized,” AFSCME Local 2412 President Gary Mitchell told the AFL-CIO blog.
Other video shot at the protests Tuesday showed more comparisons between Walker and former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak:

I don’t know how this is possible. In my kids school district you need a permission form to take the kids off campus on a field trip. This form must be signed by the parent of each student. If this teacher took the kids off campus without this form then she faces kidnapping charges. If she has all the forms to, in fact, take these kids then it’s OK for her to take them. I just can imagine any parent wanting their children in the middle of this without being there themselves is beyond me.

The Kent State shootings—also known as the May 4 massacre or Kent State massacre occurred at Kent State University in the city of Kent, Ohio, and involved the shooting of unarmed college students by members of the Ohio National Guard on Monday, May 4, 1970. Posted on February 16, 2011 at 12:35pmKent state was a horrible event. The “kids” however were not innocent waifs just standing around, they were throwing rocks and bricks prior to being fired upon as I recall. That doesn’t justify mowing them down at all and nobody should have pulled a trigger at all, but the “official view” in the mainstream differs significantly from the reality of the situation at the time.
Report Post »GhostOfJefferson
Posted on February 16, 2011 at 12:47pmThe “peaceful” students were also rioting violently, and burned down an ROTC building, prompting schools across the nation to close out of fear of similar violent protests.
As a Buckeye I feel it is my duty to place the story in the context of real history. Both sides in the “shooting” were wrong. You don‘t get to go out and hurt people and burn down buildings if you’re some hippy dippy students, nor do you get to shoot kids with automatic weapons if you’re the government.

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 1:04pmGhost, as I recall the Guardsmen testified that they were in fear for their life. A very similar situation to the Boston masacre. In both cases the kids were encouraged to push things by others with a political agenda. Of course it was at the peril of the students, not the pushers. I never recomend throwing rocks at men with rifles. Both cases were tragic and should serve as a warning for using kids as political pawns.

No doubt, and I agree.
What’s always bothered me is the mythology that sprung up around this. If you listen to the hippy dippy left, you’d come away with the impression that a bunch of peaceful beatniks were out putting flowers in each others hair and singing folks songs when a bunch of snarling soldiers walked up and started mowing them down.
In truth it was a tragedy for all sides, and nobody in the situation has clean hands, and the events were an example of human beings making the errors they’re prone to make, on all sides of the event.

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 12:55pmWow this is a disgrace and clear example of how students are being indoctrinated. Folks you need to find out what and who are teaching your children regardless if they are in K or Junior in college. Ask questions in a conversational manner so they will openly speak with you.
It is clears the education is overwhelmed with radical teachers who slip in their belief system in a slick manner to their children. I have nephews who I ask all the time about what they are being taught, nothing too controversial if anything the global warming lie, but I make it a point to let them know the other side and “ask the teacher about…”. You must get involved you cannot sit idly by anymore the days of June & Ward Cleaver are over its now Cloward & Piven!

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 1:01pmThe only reason high school students walk out of school, well, is so they can walk out of school. These immature children are being used and their parents need to wake up and intervene, their kids are being used as pawns. These high school kids have no idea what is going on, all they care about is getting out of class. The teachers involved should be fired for refusing to do their work and instead using these kids to pad their already deeply lined pockets. They should be thankful that they even have a job after what their unions and this union loving gov. have done to our country. Chris Christie said it best when he said, did you not know what the job paid before you decided this is what you wanted to do with your life? and if it’s about the kids why do you keep complaining about YOUR pay?

Posted on February 16, 2011 at 1:39pmThe book of Isaiah is an end-time book. It was written down for our people of this time now (Isa. 30:8). Isaiah predicts many positive things for our world after Jesus Christ’s second coming. But just before that, this same book records many dire prophecies. Isaiah shows that our time is to be a violent time. Unfortunately, Isaiah shows specifically that our children would cause a portion of the violence affecting our nations.
Isaiah writes, “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths” (Isa. 3:12). Notice Isaiah says that children would be our oppressors. The Hebrew word translated “oppressors” means to drive (like an animal), to be a task master, harass, or tyrannize.

Most of what you read is about either Jerusalem and Judah’s sinful nature which was confirmed in their actions and attitudes towards the Lord and described by Isaiah (Is. 30:8-11) or about the Lord sending a Savior for all of mankind (Is. 53).
