COPLEY, Ohio (AP) — A man apparently angry with his girlfriend gunned down two people outside a home and two more in a car Sunday morning, then chased down another victim in a shooting rampage that left eight dead, including the gunman who was shot by police, authorities and witnesses said.
Two others were wounded. A child was among those shot, witnesses said, though police wouldn’t confirm that. The gunman killed seven people in three places and was shot elsewhere, Copley police Chief Michael Mier said.
A neighbor, Gilbert Elie, was getting ready for church when he heard gunshots. He went outside and found a woman in a driveway who’d been shot and a man shot near a garage, and a woman and girl in a vehicle who were wounded, he told The Associated Press. Then a woman came out of the house next door and tried to talk to Elie, he said, but her boyfriend followed and shot her. Elie ran for safety behind a truck and didn’t see what happened next.
The names and ages of the victims and the gunman weren’t being released until police could tell family members, some of whom are out of state, said police Sgt. Eric Goodwin.

The son of one victim said a child was among those shot and that the argument started between the gunman and his girlfriend, according to neighbor Kim Dietz. The gunman chased the son, who escaped by wading through a swamp and made his way to Dietz’s home, she told the Plain-Dealer of Cleveland.
Goodwin did not know the conditions of the wounded. Investigators were “still putting things together” as they work the crime scenes, he said.
He gave no more details, including how the shooter and victims were related, their names or what led to the argument.
“That’s still under investigation,” he said.
Jeff Kirby of nearby Norton said he was visiting his mother’s home a block from the shootings around 10:30 a.m. when he heard gunfire — about 15 shots with several pauses between them.
Kirby, 53, said the last gunfire he heard occurred about the same time he heard sirens in the neighborhood.

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 5:14pmLike it’s been said, the gun doesn’t matter. A man killed several innocent unarmed people. Had this happened in a neighborhood with lots of law-abiding gun-toting citizens, the body count COULD have been fewer, and the police would be there just in time to clean up the remains of the gunman. Taking guns away will not stop violence, but when more people have them, acts of violence will be shorter.

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 6:31amI really suspect that this whole thing was staged (including those who died) to push the agenda of gun grabbing. Obama has been told by his Saudi handlers that the American population is to be disarmed so that they can’t resist the takeover which is rapidly coming. I remember as a kid you‘d see a man walking along with a rifle in his hand and you’d think, “He must be going hunting or just spend the day plinking at some beer cans”. Now we’ve all been programmed to call 911 and to get excited about a man who is still probably going hunting or plinking. All this is leading up to the big ‘gun grab’ which will reflect exactly the way Hitler and Stalin disarmed the public and then these people could not inconvenience the regime by resisting. Obama admits that he HATES America and that the “First lady” is a racist! The Obamas are relying on political correctness to cover-up and distract us from the truth. Now they will stop at nothing to program your neighbors into telling the police that you own a gun. If someone runs down and kills a group of people with a car, would the regime try to take away everyone’s car? No! That isn’t their goal. You will need that car to go make the $100,000 which every American household must pay to repay that which Obama has spent to buy votes and to program your neighbors to turn you in to the cops.

People will have no where to turn and nothing to look forward to. Scientist shouldn‘t be so stuck on proving he doesn’t exists, because if they do, This country will be incomplete chaos. This was about a troubled man and the reason he did this dastardly crime should be pursued. It seems that not too long ago disturbed people would just go out and kill themselves only. Posted on August 8, 2011 at 12:29amHere in the NY/NJ Metro Area violent, psychotic, criminal gene bearing individuals released from prisons & mental hospitals at the behest of Liberal do-gooders have attacked law abiding citizens on the streets. Repeatedly people walking on busy midtown NYC sidewalks have been struck in the head by cobblestone wielding crack addicts & mental patients. Innocent commuters have been pushed off subway platforms in front of approaching trains & died as a result of their injuries. In a Hasidic section of Brooklyn another mentally ill criminal released from jail by a Liberal judge would leap from the shadows striking pedestrians with a claw hammer, he was later shot after approaching police & refusing to drop the hammer, his family is now suing the NYPD.
One need only know of The Wildman of 96th Street the infamous Larry Hogue (a *****) who attacked residents on NYC‘s Upper Eastside in the 80’s-90′s terrorizing an entire neighborhood for over a decade in a crack induced mania until his death. As one might surmise a large percentage of these heinous acts were committed by those of “color” (Blacks) incapable of conforming to civilized society and it morals/laws. The fact is some “entities” are uncontrolable just look at the Central Park jogger who was raped & beaten over the head with melon sized rocks suffering permanent brain damage the attack a “wilding spree” was committed by a gang of Black youth who ALL have been convicted of subsequent crimes following their release

Posted on August 8, 2011 at 1:10amThere is no need for limiting or prohibiting law abiding American CITIZENS from owning firearms to protect themselves and their families as my post above illustrates when unable to obtain a firearm/weapon the criminal element present in our communities will use ANYTHING readily available a bottle, metal bar/pipe, bat, knife, street sign post, block of concrete, brick, or cobblestone to assault, injure, and/or kill their intended target/victim.
We as a society MUST demand the RIGHT to carry weapons in public it WILL reduce the crime rate drastically when the perpetrators see that we are no longer defenseless. Since the implementation of “Castle Law” and the right to defend oneself when threatened verbally with bodily harm in the great State of Florida shootings have taken place and the perpetrators are routinely killed by law abiding American CITIZENS exercising their rights. In fact home invasions are common, individuals in the Black community envious of Whites and their hard-earned possessions see us are easy targets and are now finding themselves staring down the barrel of a LEGALLY owned firearm. In one case a career criminal & drug addict decided to rob his own fathers home coming in through the window late at night, he had been warned that he would be trespassing & the consequences, the father tired of being the victim shot his son dead before he fully entered the home, no charges were filed. Stand up, defend yourselves & your loved ones !

Posted on August 7, 2011 at 11:31pmLet me start by saying this is a damn shame… My heart goes out to the families of the victims of this crime.
but hey, quick Obama, and the left… Call for a seize of the legally possessed arms of all of America’s law abiding citizenry.. This kinda crap is what pushes the left wing nut-jobs to try to seize all of our guns.. I wish people would knock it off with this junk. Guns are a right that will become an extinct privilege if this keeps up.
Guns are not dangerous… Bullets are not dangerous… Fully automatic machine guns are not dangerous… grenades are not dangerous.. its the people who wield them that are dangerous… Weapons are merely tools.. If you ban guns, not only will only criminals have the only guns (leaving the citizenry pretty much defenseless) but then people will just use a different means to do their mis-deeds.. Guns are just the current/convenient method of murder.. Swords, knives and explosives are quite messy and can be traumatizing mentally to the user, guns are quite a bit cleaner in that regard, and a lot less “personal” making murder with a firearm physically and mentally easier for the perpetrator.
But be on the lookout people… The left IS coming for your guns, and your right to protect yourself from Tyranny.. Will you hand them over, or will you fight for whats right..??
