Should Abandoning Islam Be Punishable By Death? This Egyptian Cleric Thinks So

We’ve heard from Egyptian Shaykh Muhammad Hassan before. Back in June, The Blaze published a video in which he claimed that Islam prefers strong, immoral men. Now, he’s back with a new message: the penalty for apostasy (abandoning Islam) should be the same as the punishment one gets for treason — death.

In a newly translated video (which likely aired back in 2008), Hassan explains that once an individual enters Islam, he or she cannot leave it. He compares such an act to treason and explains that most nations punish treasonous acts by inflicting death. Translating Jihad explains:

This is a very common argument from Islamic clerics and others who try to defend the killing of apostates, and take on the impossible task of reconciling this with the Western ideas of freedom of religion and conscience.

Here are Hassan’s exact words:

But if he enters Islam of his own free will and choice, he does not have the right to leave the religion of Allah whenever he wants, to shake the foundations of Muslim society. No, he does not have the right. Absolutely not. But he does have the right, after having (Islam) preached to him, to say, “I will enter” or “I will not enter this religion.” But to enter it just to leave it whenever he wants?

No. This is something which is unacceptable in the religion of Almighty Allah. Show me a constitution anywhere on earth which grants this for its citizens. But rather whoever comes out against the constitution of any nation is accused of treason. Everyone familiar with treason knows that the penalty is death. So what do you think about the one who betrays the religion of Allah Almighty, the one who betrays Allah and His Messenger? “O ye who believe! Do not betray Allah and His Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trusts” (Qur’an 8:27).

Watch a translated version of his statements, below:

Translating Jihad explains that there is even a campaign in Egypt to urge Hassan to run for president of the post-revolutionary Middle Eastern nation. Below, see a translated screen shot taken from a Facebook fan page devoted to that very cause:

Egyptian Shaykh Muhammad Hassan: Apostasy Punishable by Death

It is a system of brainwashing. Repetition is the most effective way of setting brain neurons in unchangeable patterns. This Muslim brainwashing has been going on for centuries. Now the Muslim babies are born with deformed brain structures. Their neurons are so abnormal that they can not perceive reality as God wanted human beings to perceive. There is no way to train them to be different, their brain structures are too degraded, too misaligned, too misshapen, too programmed to be evil. Even if they do not commit violence they bring disharmony to all normal human beings by their very existence on earth.

Mossbrain, your name suits you, as your brian MUST be full of moss. No child, no matter where they are born, or under what religion their parents believe, has a deformed brain, just because of what the parents or even the community believes as a whole. ALL children have normal functioning brains at birth unless it is damaged in some way. And a parent’s beliefs do not change it. There are hundreds, if not thousands of Muslims, who leave that religion every year.

Well even if some interprets the bible that way they leave it in God’s hands not their own. I know that is bad theology about eternal Hell myself but there is still a big difference between saying someone is gonna go to hell and telling them you are going to kill them yourself if they leave your theology? The Truth is that God never threatened anyone with eternal hell because there is not such place that is a theological interpretation but God actually gives you a choice of entering into Eternity or not.

Eternity is not a segment of time but simply Un-relative Oneness with the Eternal One. There is no eternal place of torment but one day the Eternal Fire of the Truth is going to destroy all illusion along with those who decided to walk in it because it suite the lust and desire of self and they will cease to exist even in memory after judgment.

Those who PRACTICE sin shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (New American Standard Bible)

9Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not (B)inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Mossbrain is a little out there but makes a bit of a point. Any religion that has children standing up reciting “truths” about their religion – is brainwashing the child. And many religions do. They have their children standing up saying “I know this church is the true church.” It is child abuse. It is essentially removing free will that God gave to each of us. If you see a religion that does this, run for the hills because it has nothing to do with God. Islam, like others, fits the bill.

      To RRJENN:
If you are going to respond about another religion: rather than using hearsay as an argument, you might want to do your homework. Of course, since it is spiritually discerned, you cannot POSSIBLY understand. So I will enlighten you:

      1) God is the Creator of this world, and as such, HE has the right to make the “rules.”
      2) The Kingdom of God is not a democracy.
      3) God LOVED the world (try finding anything like that in the Qu’ran about Allah – good luck, it’s not there) that He sent His only Son to become one of us (imagine you loving ants and seeing them kill each other, and the only way you could get your message across to them was to become one of them. Would you? Well, God did!
      4) Not only did He become one of us, but he lived as an example of how to live and love and He died to reconcile us back to God, whom we had rebelled against. Then He was resurrected in order to prove to us that God accepted His sacrifice.
      5) God did all this in order to bring us back into relationship with us and to keep us FROM eternal separation from Himself. What did Mohammad – or Allah do to show love to his people?
      6) Our response is to love in return and give ourselves to God wholeheartedly. Why would we turn away once we have known such love?
      7) If one DOES,it is they who choose to reject love.
      8) God is a gentleman. He will not force us into Heaven against our will. We get what we choose.

      Can you see the diffe

Actually, your god does give a choice, but it is no different from the choice of a potential apostate. If you don’t grovel and worship you will be punished for all eternity, and yes the bible does command that heretics be put to death. The bible even says that someone trying to de-convert you should die at your hand immediately and anyone who does not want Jesus to be king should be brought before hime and executed before his eyes. You are left free to “choose” either destiny. The apostate has the same choice, he can leave his faith and be subjected to eternity in horror. He/she is given the same so called choice as you, the only difference is that their religious leaders actually follow the words of their holy book and so he/she will be put to death just as your bible commands of you.

I am amazed at the number of christians who attack the tenants of islam while up holding their own holy book which demands many of the same laws be followed.

Yeah, the Koran says an adultress should be stoned to death, but so does the bible. And dont try to bring up the “he without sin cast the first stone” because this story didn‘t appear in the gospel until around 800 years after it’s writing. So that story is irrelivent as a supposed “word of god” since it is actually nothing more than “word of random scribe”.

Outtodoubt – what bible are you reading? NT says none of that. You obviously do not believe the bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit. And, obviously, Jesus put a stop to stoning that came from the OT. You are outofdate and your reasoning is terribly flawed. Read the NT and the real message of Jesus. His Father is the Creator of every single thing in this life (even the Creator of the intellect that came up with inventions) and deserves our gratitude.

Already in Dearborn MI, with it’s large Muslim population, force and coercion have been used on those who resist their local dominance. For example, they’re intolerant of non-Muslims teaching at Fordson HS. What happened to American values separating religion and state? In many Muslim-dominated countries religious leaders ARE the state! Allowing Muslims to practice their faith in America will lead to the destruction of freedom as is happening even now in Dearborn.

I’m not anti-Muslim – I’m a stand for their freedom to practice their values in countries where everyone is in agreement, knows the rules and is willing to live peacefully under them.

America is not such a country because Americans value FREEDOM above our religious differences!

As Islam spreads here, there will be increasing clashes between American values and Muslim demands for Sharia law. Sharia law must NOT be allowed to override American guarantees of freedom, conscientious objection, & full self-expression without fear that disagreeing with Muslims’ religion will result in loss of employment or physical harm.

Maybe you should READ your bible.
Luke 19:27 After the Minas parables Jesus this last line as an answer to his apostles question of what should they do if the people of the town they are entering rejects their message.

“But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them–bring them here and kill them in front of me.”

Jesus Never put a stop to stoning. At no point in the NT does he even elude to such an idea. In fact he says that we should uphold the laws of Moses, which are the laws found in lev. and deut. The sources of these filthy laws.

Now, if you believe that Jesus said not to worry about the OT then why do you include it as a holy book? Why do I hear the faithful constantly quote from this pile of garbage? And if we are to believe that the OT was the word of God, did he just get it wrong? Maybe he was just kidding? Out of date? No Winter, I think it is you and your faith that is out of date and the sooner you open your eyes and shrug off such beliefs the sooner we can repair this planet.

Oh yeah….Don’t forget the 10 commandments are in the same book that requires stoning of adulturers and unruly children. Cherry pick much?

One cancer spot at a time, then a state will be infected. Christianity will be restricted, then outlawed. Non-Muslims will be forced to migrate out of the city….then the state(s) they take over.
Their goal is easy to read and understand, they want to fly the muslim flag over the white house. Anyone who doesn’t comprehend this has their head in the sand.

All true believers in Jesus Christ are called to be evangelists. Maybe not like the Billy Grahams or Luis Palau’s of this world, but we are all called to “Go and make disciples of all nations,” not by FORCE, but by and because of LOVE HIMSELF, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by His Spirit. And it starts through prayer. The harvest is ripe. We need to get our marching orders and GO as directed by our Commander in Chief. Remember the ending – He WINS!

True. I’ve heard some people talk about Christian churches trying to control people by threats, and in some ways, I’ve seen that as well, which is sad. But it seems like it is the largest denominations that are in danger of losing people to other denominations that primarily do this, and they are losing people in droves. I think Islam would be doing the same – in fact, many Muslims HAVE left Islam, many for Christianity, and many as a result of seeing God for the GOOD and LOVING God, not sadistic and vengeful Allah that so insecure that he knows the only way to keep people in is by threats of death. One way to find out: release the threats and let people exercise free will to stay or leave. Then you will find out who is really loyal and believes in this bloodthirsty god of darkness. But that could never happen, because that’s all that keeps most of them. Without that power of the bully, it wouldn’t be any fun anymore and the religion would implode.

A nation which can be bought and sold, because that is what America is, a nation of diversity, a melting pot. A place which can have her constitution changed at will. A place where any foreigner can realize his dream..like become predident of the United States. Of course when we become a nation totally of islam and communism, then all of that will change, because we will be the slaves or prisoners, and the powers that be won’t lose that control. Shouldn’t it be up to Him whether to punish you or not? Shouldn‘t it be that if you break man’s law then it should be man who punishes you and if you break the laws of God then it should be God who punishes you? I suppose that my outlook may be colored because I have always felt that my relationship with God is something very personal between Him and me.

How is this even a surprise? If you leave Islam for Christianity, your life will be uncomfortable and difficult in many parts of the Muslim world; it’s a life or death situation in some lands.

And yet they are the religion of peace. I don’t see Jewish people or Christians killing people that leave their fold. I’ve seen it in cults, but they’re not Christians. Find it in the Bible where it tells us to kill those who don’t convert. The Koran does: http://jyte.com/cl/%E2%80%9Ckill-the-jews-and-the-christians-if-they-do-not-convert-to-islam-or-refuse-to-pay-jizya-tax.%E2%80%9D

If you want to kill your own people in your own country that is your issue but don’t try to impose your killing in the USA

There are more and more mercy killings in the US. There is a cultural jihad going on here in our country that so many are blind to, case in point, the“vicory” mosque near ground zero.

Islam is a Religion of Peace™ unless you’re using it as a metaphor for bashing the Tea Party.

      .
Excellent Point! – Wasn‘t Obama’s growing-up time in Indonesia spent in an Islamic-only school and hasn’t he since denied he is a Muslim?

What else does Islamic law say about hiding your faith and lying about it being ‘legal’ when used to fool the infidels? Isn’t that how the 9/11 hijackers justified that they’d still get into heaven despite all the drinking & other immoral-according-to-Islam behaviors they did in the months prior to 9/11?

Ah, we see the foretaste of America under Sharia law when Obama makes it dominant.

I’m reading a book that explains Revelation. It seems we (Christians) will be raptured before the extreme torture. (ie shariah law type of stuff) Phew!

We need prayer groups to pray for the non-believers. We need to show the libs we love them.

Why does this article make it appear that this guy is an aberration? Shariah law is clear that the punishment for leaving Islam — whether you were converted or born into it — is death. Some more moderate followers of Shariah have tried to soften it, by saying that you have your whole life to change your mind and come back. But this is fundamental Shariah law.
