Sickening Video: Two Vans Hit Chinese Toddler…18 Passers-by Ignore Her Suffering

The video is a frame-by-frame indictment of stunning apathy in the face of horrible suffering.  At least 18 people simply walk by after a little girl is hit by two vans.

Two Vans Hit Chinese Toddler...18 Passers by Ignore Her Suffering | Wang Yue

It is very difficult to watch.  There are edited versions in reports posted further down in this post.  But, be warned, this is the full version that shows the moments of impact when the little girl is hit by the vans:

CNN:

Beijing (CNN) — Gruesome footage of a toddler falling victim to two successive hit-and-run accidents and then being ignored by many passers-by at the scene last week in southern China continued to galvanize the nation Monday, prompting a fierce debate on the state of morality in Chinese society.

A security camera captured the horrific incident last Thursday outside a hardware market in Foshan, Guangdong Province. Two-year-old Wang Yue was seen toddling in the middle of a narrow street and looking around, oblivious to a fast-approaching white van.

The disturbing video shows the van knocking the girl over. The driver briefly stops with the girl underneath the van, before continuing on, its rear tires slowly rolling over her small body. The girl is left barely moving in her own blood as several pedestrians and cyclists pass by.

Minutes later, another small truck drives over Wang without slowing down, the video shows. More passers-by walked, cycled or drove around her motionless body without stopping — until a woman carrying a sack appeared 10 minutes after the initial collision. Dropping her sack, she quickly moved the girl to safety and went to look for help.

Wang remained in critical condition Monday afternoon in a military hospital in the nearby city of Guangzhou, her father told CNN.

ABC News:

The most popular regional paper The NanFang Daily wrote an editorial about “gathering the scraps of China’s conscience.”

With the introspection comes who or what to blame for the degradation of “Chinese morality” and there seems to be a consensus about the perceived source of the current state of apathy. One netizen wrote, “Don’t blame the passersby; it was a Nanjing judge that killed this little girl.” [YueYue is still alive.]

The “Nanjing judge” refers to an infamous 2006 incident where a young man named Peng Yu went to the aid of an elderly woman who had fallen down on the street in the eastern city of Nanjing. At the woman’s request, Peng helped take her to the hospital only to have the woman turn around and accuse him for being the person who knocked her down. A Nanjing judge then ruled that “common sense” suggested that Peng only took the woman to the hospital because he was guilty and ordered him to pay her medical expenses.

The story was picked up by the Chinese media and quickly became a cautionary tale for many Chinese: no good deed goes unpunished.

Two Vans Hit Chinese Toddler...18 Passers by Ignore Her Suffering | Wang Yue

This edited video shows the parade of people walking by while ignoring the little girl:

China Daily:

After two and a half days of treatment, good news came Monday morning that Yue Yue has regained the ability to take weak breaths with the help of respirator. The rest of her condition, including blood pressure and heart beat, shows signs of stability. However, the child‘s life is still in danger and she hasn’t recovered the ability to breathe upsupported, reported Guangzhou Daily.

Rescuer gets big rewards

Civilization office of Foshan’s Nanhai district on Monday presented 10,000 yuan ($1,570) to Chen Xianmei, a rubbish collector who offered aid to Yue Yue after the incident happened, as a reward for her kind deed, China Daily reported.

Meanwhile, a company in Foshan said that they will donate 50,000 yuan to Yue Yue’s family and the rescuer respectively.

“Besides the reward, we would like to offer Chen a job with stable income so as to encourage this kind of activity,” said an anonymous assistant manager at the company.

Hit-and-run drivers: sorry for the victim’s family

As for the two drivers who hit Yue Yue, one was caught by police and the other turned himself in on Monday.

Both drivers said they didn’t see the child before the accident happened, according to the police. The first driver who knocked down Yue Yue expressed regret, deep sadness and apologies to the child’s family.

Remember what kind of people you support when you buy Chinese-manufactured items. Also remember that every dollar spent on Chinese crap turns around and causes the US federal government to go that much more into debt. If you have any doubt about this claim, feel free to contact me and I will explain how it works, or you could just read my past postings. It’s all in there.

I bet if the license plate numbers are legible, the justice system will ensure that justice is meted out.

How many people here stand aside when someone is beat down?
What about the number of hit & runs? I know of hit & runs where the person is never found.

This same video could have been shot in a large South American countries. Are we really better than the people in East Asia & South America? Maybe we are, but if the economy keeps going south I expect us to be far worse.

Beck has a friend, don’t recall his name, who moved his business to China and came on his FNC show to speak about the wonders of China. When Glenn mentioned communism, his friend brushed if off as a preposterous misconception. I’ll never forget that interview, and the rage I felt. Sometimes Glenn goes way off the mark. He should have known better than to invite that lying, liberal clown on his show, being that he was so selective about his guests.

The Chinese are communists. Therefore they are an evil nation. Anybody who takes their business to China is aiding and abetting evil. American capitalism was supposed to have God/God’s principles as its checks and balances. We have made ourselves slaves of a very cruel master because of our liberal capitalism. That is not what our Founders intended us to be.

Saying just because a nation has laws allowing abortion leads to this activity is severely ignorant. It has been proven statistically that abortions actually curb this type of activity because children of parents who don’t want them turn out to be really crappy people. Before you get on the adoption high horse separation at birth also has sever negative effects on a child. I’m not saying abortions should be legal or not but to try and tie this to the abortion wagon is just stupid. Please know how things actually effect the world before you make such claims.

The sad truth is that the result of living in communist or socialist (progressive) societies causes people to lower their standards on the value of a life. When God is taken out of a society – the priceless nature of a human life is no longer valid. Will this be what happens in our society if we allow this current administration to “lean forward” their plans. We already allow partial-birth abortion. Remember, one of Obama’s first acts as president was to lift the ban on partial birth abortions – a ban put in place by George Bush. . My heart goes out to the mother of this child. Buy USA

      To Kryptonite & others:

First, it is immature and ignorant to blame an entire country of people for their government. Should we be held to the ignorance of the OWS protestors or Obama?

Obviously, you have NEVER been to China nor understand how afraid they are to speak out. Most of them are lovely, kind, giving people. It also depends on where you are in China …the larger cities are so overcrowded and miserable that people have just stopped caring. Life is tough, raw, cold, and very hard.

Most “average” citizens have been moved out of their slums and into even worse conditions so that China can build brand-new condo’s that no one can afford to purchase. I’m sure most have heard about the Ghost Cities, and there are even more empty buildings in the large cities…but I digress. Because of the government’s attempt to falsely create a higher value in their currency, citizens are forced to live with several families in one small room – open to a main area where the public water is located (yep, they bath and drink from the same outside faucet).

These same slums make it easy for children to get away and disappear into the maze of small streets. If you have ever been a parent, you know how quickly a child can disappear if you look away for one second.

There is no reason to call an entire nation of PEOPLE evil because their government is a Capitalist State. Since we are headed that way, are we also evil? I don’t see us doing anything to stop the rampant

@BETTERINFORMED I actually didn’t voice my opinion on abortion at all. I was dismissing another person trying to point to a country’s policies on abortion as causation of people devaluing life. I used facts and didn’t assume peoples position on things.

You asked “you think It would have been better if the child mentioned here had been aborted?” I can‘t answer that because that isn’t my decision to make either way. If you asked me which would I rather experience. Scissors to the head or being run over multiple times and left for dead in what appears to be a cold, wet, dark and lonely place then placed on the internet for the world to view. You can already see that here. Look how many newborns are found dead in dumpsters — people are so accustomed to abortion on demand that they don’t see any difference between killing an unborn baby and killing one that has already been born.

      ——-
I’m sorry if you misunderstood. I wasn’t talking about the citizens, per se. I was referring to the SYSTEM. Without question average citizens suffer all kinds of oppression under communism — on a daily basis. Only the elite lead a good life, albeit in fear as well. That said, when an evil regime takes over a country the forces of darkness are unleashed. I say that because it is a spiritual law, and if you are a Christian you will understand. The whole social structure is morally dismantled by the dark forces that consolidate any totalitarian regime, as happened in China and other communist countries – and is currently overtaking America.

The only people I directly attacked were Americans who take their business to China. They will answer to God for helping neo-communism retain its evil grip on that country, and above all, for bowing to Mammon and becoming willing pawns of the evil forces that want to bankrupt our economy and bring our covenant nation down.

How Horrible. These People Now Have Nuclear Weapons.

Do the Chinese still execute people by “1000 Cuts”? Look up execution by “1000 Cuts.” These are the very same people Democrats are friends with. How can any American buy Chinese products? All the boiling hot TEA cannot wash away this poor child’s blood.

Can anyone image what it must be like in a Chinese prison or Chinese concentration camp? They are doing this to their own people.

Don’t blame the moral fibre of the Chinese people and their government over that of our own, because it makes us all seem like hypocrites. The Chinese are good people, their history rich with social values equivalent to, and further than, American values in many instances (not to say American values aren’t exceptional in certain places). This death is a result of a few things. Firstly, population overcrowding makes it very easy for children to escape, especially in metropolitan areas. It’s not uncommon for a kid to get loose and die out on the streets (judging by traffic, this was more comparable to an alley). Secondly, psychology shows that this is caused by the bystander effect, in which individuals pass the buck off to another so they don’t have to get involved. This was the case with the murders of Kitty Genovese and Axel Casian (both American instances lasting much longer than the 7 minutes in the Yue Yue case here shown). In the case of Hugo Alfredo Tale-Yax in New York City just last year, 25 people walked past his dying body without getting help, and a few even took pictures as sick mementos. This is not an issue of Chinese or American morality, but of modern psychology in society. (Also, Chinese economy is thoroughly Capitalist, just not laissez-faire. Not super relevant, but it ought be stated. They have private control of industry in a market economy. It has some mixed due to government intervention, but it is still thoroughly Capitalist.)

Shattering! I understand vividly now why we are instructed in the Bible not to look on murders…ones’ spirit truly gets badly bruised. I agree with all the comments here (all that I read) but something else stands out and that is what lawyers do that makes people hesitant to help. Also, we MUST get rid of the violence that permeates our childrens’ environment; i.e. games, tv, music..you name it.

Any wise person has known for years; I can trace it back to Plato, that one should not watch violence and we MUST protect our children and ourselves from being made so callous. I truly do not have anything left in me to say anymore…even animals protect their own. I’m physically ill.

What about the people that did help the little girl? What about the company that wants to reward the women that helped and wants to assist with the medical bills? ———-
All communist regimes are in practice “oligarchic dictatorships.”

China had their equivalent of the Soviet perestroika — only they were smarter because they kept their political regime in place. The result was neocommunism, the perfect blend of a totalitarian regime and capitalism. Both Nixon, who warmed up to the Chicoms and Clinton who officially enacted the rapprochement, surmised that if they effected economic change, political freedom would follow. The premise was flawed, because it did not envision that communism could coexist with a good measure of capitalism. In fact, it turned out to be the perfect combination for the Chinese. They retained their brutal, repressive political structure but, concomitantly, were able to bloom economically where old-line Marxism had failed. (CONT.)

(CONT.) You have to understand that communism is essentially a political system (political systems determine the economic system and not viceversa), so unless you look at the China through a political lens you will be deceived. The CCP does not exist in name only. They invaded Tibet and destroyed it to the very core – even stripping away their language from them and, thereby, their national identity. They have retained their labor camps (neocommie Gulags), which to this day are the slave factories that significantly contribute to their competitiveness in the world market. They support old-liner North Korea, both economically and politically, just like the USSR supported Cuba. And don’t be deceived, there is no real freedom of speech or press in China, just like there won’t be in America if Obum stays in power. http://www.cfr.org/china/media-censorship-china/p11515

The following article will open your eyes. Here’s an excerpt:
“The Chinese Communists are masters of manipulation and deception. The Chinese ambition of becoming a world superpower is the foundation upon which its foreign policy is built. China wants Western money, advanced technology, management skills, and market share in order to modernize and fuel its military buildup in preparation for “the inevitable confrontation” (as a leading Chinese think tank put it) that it must face on the road to becoming a world superpower.”

But make no mistake, the day Communist China marches as a superpower, the people of China will be doing the marching. That’s how a communist country operates.

Anyway, what you wrote is correct. I have first hand knowledge of how they do things in Communist China because I used to have to go to Chine once a year to inspect factories that made our products. We were in the Medical Device business, and these products were to be used in sterile environments like Operating Rooms, quality of these products were paramount of importance to our success. Back them we only had two large factories but both were waaay out in the middle of no-where. As recent as 10 years ago they had no bathrooms in the plants for the employees with each plant employing between 500-600 workers. You went in a ditch outside behind the factory. The ditch was an old stream that just moved the pooh and urine downstream. One location had the stream coming down from a small mountain, behind the factory, then went through the middle of a large village that supplied almost all the labor. Every time I went to visit that site there was ALWAYS toddlers and kids playing in the stream as it came down the main street of their village. It’s also where the villagers got their “fresh” water from. Just one small snapshot of China.

I did want to add I have a coworker who grew up in Asia–sorry, I know it’s a big place, but not sure where–she said where she was people did not recognize a child as alive until it was 100 days old, because of the high mortality rates. I would comment what sort of society would rather ignore and therefore lose the first three years of their child’s life–all their children–in order to spare themselves some future possible pain and grief?

You’re absolutely correct. However, my husband and I just moved to Las Vegas, and we were trying to find outdoor furniture for around the back yard, and the only furniture we were able to find was all made in China. Lowes, Home Depot, K-mart, Sears, Big Lots,Sam’s Club, etc. They sell only “made in China” items. Thus, we still have no outdoor furniture. Thinking of having some made out of wood by a local carpenter. In that way, we put an American to work, and they use products made solely in America, unless the nails, paint and stain are now made in China as well.

An individual life is not important in Communism, only the whole, or collective, matters. God makes contact with each one of us, not through the crowd in a church. If the individual is not respected, neither is God, and it sure isn’t in Communist Russia and China. Their history proves it.

“She puts the baby off to the side like a pile of garbage blocking the road….”

      The article explains that
“… until a woman carrying a sack appeared 10 minutes after the initial collision. Dropping her sack, she quickly moved the girl to safety and went to look for help.” In the video @48 she moves the child. A different woman comes by and picks up the little girl and carries her away. Take my word for it – there‘s no need to view the video if you haven’t or to re-watch it.

That’s not exactly something people need to see, but it is the standard of whats become of the world. Mans inhumanity to man is the absence of the Divine, and the rejection of His solution. God isn’t punishing us mankind, He’s simply withdrawing and allowing man to judge ourselves.

The brutality in this video is gut wrenching, but think about it. There are hundreds of thousands of van drivers every year pretending to be doctors and murdering the innocents through abortion, who are as guilty of no morality as the drivers in the video, and apathetic as the passersby.

Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
      Searching for what they need

Is this the world we created?
We made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated?
      Right to the bone
If there’s a God up in the sky
Looking down, what must he think of what we’ve done
To the world that he created?

      Jesus wept.

      Greenwood,

This story is a disgrace upon mankind and an indictment against his so-called independence from God.
That is why faithful Christians continue to preach the good news of the Kingdom of God.
      Matthew 24:14

I just don’t think they value life as much in China as a whole. That’s what you get when you place the welfare of the collective above the welfare of the individual in a socialist society. Coming soon to a US city near you unless we turn things around.

Little girls are worth nothing in China and this happens more than you think. Hence, the ignoring by others is because they’ve seen it before. The driver was probably her parent. Norm in communist China

it’s ironic that women in America fight for liberalism / socialism / communism and they are the ones, that are going to be the first, to loose their rights and their lives…

Listen, northcali, this isn’t about communism or socialism, it’s about the helpless. People didn’t respond because they were worried about a Chinese court precedent where a good samaritan was punished for bringing a victim to the hospital. If you can’t see it clearly in this example, then you’re hopeless. This is the GOP vision in which people care more about themselves than the helpless, without understanding the long history of people who made their situation possible. We need people to understand that the world is a community, not a bunch of islands. So don’t even THINK about making this an anti-progressive rallying call. You’re severely misguided if you do, chum.

They don’t value life (post birth at least) in China the way we do. The valuing of human life above all other things is central to the Judeo-Christian belief system. Atheism being the state sanctioned religion of all communist governments does not teach human life as having any value above for example, a dog or a single-cell organism for that matter, if they’re true Darwinist which most of them profess to be. Although most humans, atheist or believers, innately see human life as being vastly different from all other forms of life.

Point being, if Chinese society largely doesn’t view human life as being more valuable than the roast duck they ate earlier that day, why would we expect them to act differently in that situation. If we keep removing God, our source of morality from our society, will we look any different than these people in the future?

Godless society (By Law) will continue to rule the day in China. This flight from God and conscious is the Socialists/Communist (Liberal) Doctrine.

They’re (Atheists) striving to achieve total Godlessness out of everything we humans see and feel every day.

Exactly, you can see what living and working for the state will do to your soul. You have no mativation to give a crap about anything. There is nothing to look foward to. The only reason there was any remorse was due to the fact that it was caught on tape. Comunism / Socialism developes such great human characteristics.
