Sister Gives Tearful Live-TV Plea Before Brother Dies in St. Louis Standoff

The sister of a now-deceased gunman suspected of shooting two U.S. Marshals and a police officer in St. Louis was captured on local TV giving a passionate, impromptu plea for the suspect not to make good on a promise to “[go] out in a body bag.” The tearful plea included an allusion to the suspect and the sister surviving a roll-over accident together, with the sister begging the man and reminding him that “God gave us another chance”:
The plea, however, may have not been enough.
St. Louis police confirmed in a statement that a “male suspect is deceased.” The brief statement did not explain who the man was or how he was killed, however KTVI-TV reports it was a gunshot wound. It is unclear if the man was killed by police or killed himself.
Talking to reporters outside the house, however, Sannita Vaughan said her brother was the dead suspect who had been holed up inside.
“All we know is, they killed him,” Vaughan said as relatives tried to shield her from the media crush.
The two U.S. marshals and a police officer had been serving an arrest warrant at the house on the city’s south side when a gunfight broke out, according to Jeff Carter, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service.
One U.S. marshal is in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Saint Louis University Hospital, spokeswoman Laura Keller said. He was shat in the head. The other is in fair condition and is undergoing surgery after being hit in the ankle.
She did not provide the officers’ identities.
A St. Louis police officer was hit in his bullet-proof vest and suffered a graze wound and injuries from a fall, according to a recorded statement on the city police media hotline. It said he was taken to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Posted on March 8, 2011 at 5:46pmSHOCKING UPDATE: The suspect(s) arrested for the murder of a Texas pastor were also BLACK! This means even more beautiful African Americans will no longer be contributing to the DIVERSITY of our society! If greedy whites would just share the wealth, peaceful, generous diversity loving African Americans would not need to lose hope of ever being able to contribute their marvelous gifts to our communities. Like gangsta rap and mad hoops!

Posted on March 8, 2011 at 4:45pmFirst, I read visit this site daily, I must say that overall the editors of the site could do a much better job. Typos such as the “shat in the head” are not uncommon. Im not taking away from the content just saying I expect a better sense of professionalism in this regard. BLAZE EDITORS GET YOUR SHAT TOGETHER!
In regards to the story, ““All we know is, they killed him,” Vaughan said. To which my response is they dont even know that. What we know is that 2 LEO’s have been shot (and I doubt they shot themselves), 1 LEO is injured, and one suspect is dead. A suspect who obviously (at least according to his “sister”,or cousin) made previous statements alluding to confrontations with LEO’s. Thats what we know. In the mean time God Bless all honest LEO’s.
Oh Yeah, BLAZE EDITORS…. GET YOUR SHAT TOGETHER (just in case you didnt get it the first time)

Anyone who says they are forced to live there are blatent liars. They simply like being portrayed as the victims, and likey get a free ride in life by doing so.

Posted on March 8, 2011 at 2:40pmNo sympathy here except for the officers. When they “flipped on the freeway” it meant they had turned informants in a plea-bargain deal. I’d say arrest the Big One (sister) cause, no-doubt she’s an accomplice in whatever crime got her brother into this situation.
I’ve got no pity and send prayers to all of the Law Enforcement who took this criminal down.

Posted on March 8, 2011 at 2:45pmI feel for her, I do, but when she says “They killed him” I get so irritated. Can people please STOP blaming everyone else for their own decisions, the cops were doing their job. Maybe if he hadn’t broken the law in the first place there would not have been a warrant for his arrest!! Maybe if he had just owned up to his mistakes instead of pulling a gun on the police he wouldn’t be dead.
But then this is what they are teaching people these days, to not respect police or the law. Matt 24:12 “And because lawlessness will abound the love of many will grow cold.” I don’t know how much longer the Lord will put up with us.

One woman related to the suspect ranted and got into the face of an officer, screaming, “Why did you do this?”
Friends grabbed her and pulled her back. “It wasn’t him,” one said.
Tony Johnson, who lives nearby, explained why he thinks many in a crowd of about 100 people were growing increasingly angry as they waited outside the home..
“Complete anger,” he said. “People around here don’t like cops.”
Johnson, 22, added: “They should’ve sent a relative in to talk him out rather than go in shooting.”
