Skinny Inmate Escapes by Sliding Between Prison Bars

BROWNSVILLE, TN (WMC-TV) – Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped early Monday morning from the Haywood County Jail.
Kristopher Allen White, 23, escaped from the jail around 4:00 a.m. Monday, according to Sheriff Melvin Bond.
Bond said White apparently “shimmied” through the bars of his cell, and then used blankets to safely climb over a barbed wire fence.
“It appears he took his body and slipped through the bars of the cell,” Bond said.
Bond said the bars in the cell were approximately four and a half inches apart.
“I still can’t picture that,” he said of the escape. “It’s beyond my imagination to know how he succeeded in that.”

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 8:03pmI am a small person. I weigh 105 lbs. Our banisters are about 5″ apart. I told my husband I would try to get through one if he gave me $50.00. He said don’t be a stupid blond and reminded me about how 2 of our kids got their heads caught in the banister when they were little. I argued that kids heads are bigger than their bodies. He just looked at me, shook his head & started to walk away. He turned & sternly said don’t try it! HMMMM I wonder.. :)

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 4:24pmBull! You set spindles at 4″ O.C. so that children cannot get their heads through on stairs. You cannot get your head through a 4 1/2″ opening, let alone your hips.
The jailer probably forgot to lock some doors and to cover the mistake, they came up with this LAME excuse.
