Alcatraz
There are many haunted tales that beleaguer Alcatraz, the now out-of-commission prison located in San Francisco Bay. Visitors to the island have reported hearing the ghost of American gangster Al Capone playing his banjo, sounds of crying and moaning, inexplicable cold spots and sightings of prisoners or military personnel.

Gettysburg
At almost 50,000 casualties, the Battle at Gettysburg was the deadliest clash during the American Civil War. Tourists to the site have reported smelling cigar smoke and seeing apparitions of Civil War soldiers wandering the area. Others have claimed that the ghost of Confederate General Robert E. Lee has appeared in photographs.

Buffalo Central Terminal
A pivotal Buffalo, NY railroad station between 1929 and 1979, this 17-story structure was foreclosed and abandoned for years. Recently a group dedicated to restoring the property reported unexplained cold spots, voices and apparition sightings. One claim involves seeing two ghosts take a drink from a water fountain-- only to suddenly disappear.

The Alamo
The Battle of the Alamo was a major event in the Texas Revolution in 1836 and ghost stories have plagued this historic San Antonio battleground for generations. Today’s tourists have reported seeing apparitions of soldiers, hearing screams, explosions, and the faint notes of a battlefield trumpet.

Pearl Harbor
Hickam Air Force Base’s barracks were bombed by the Japanese on that fateful day in 1941. Today it is a fully operating Air Force Base. Paranormal claims include seeing apparitions of World War II soldiers, hearing unexplained sounds of soldiers moaning and bombs exploding.

The White House
The official residence of America’s presidents has been the subject of many paranormal claims. Ghostly sightings have been reported of Abigail Adams, Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson. Michelle Obama is the latest to report that mysterious noises of the night have woken her and the president up.

The Stanley Hotel
Built in 1909 and the inspiration for Stephen King’s "The Shining," visitors to this Colorado landmark are in for a paranormal treat. Guests have reported hearing a piano playing and the sound of children in the halls. Ghostly apparitions in early 20th century fashion have appeared throughout the hotel.

U.S. Capitol Building
Is the meeting place for Congress holding a joint session with ghosts? In 1848, then-Representative of Massachusetts John Quincy Adams suffered a stroke in the middle of giving a speech condemning the war with Mexico. He died two days later-- but some claim to have seen his ghost, at his original desk, attempting to deliver his unfinished speech.

West Point Military Academy
This four-year federal service academy may be home to a soldier from the past. In 1972 two students claimed to have seen the ghost of an 18th-century Revolutionary soldier materialize from the wall of their dorm, famously known as Room 4714. They reported the ghost would turn lights on and off, create cold spots and break plates and cups.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 7:36pmHas anyone noticed how things you have searched on the internet are appearing on the Blaze as ads? I‘ve seen several of my recent searches for things I’m interested in purchasing appear on here. Glenn is your money running out? I really don’ t like this invasion on the blaze.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 7:33pmI don’t think there are ghosts, but I do think if you’re out hunting for the dead, you’re going to find something hunting for you. I think they are demonic spirits who appear as people so you will allow them to hang around long enough to possess you. Call me crazy, but the bible says the dead are asleep, but the powers that we face are of the spiritual kind, demonic ones if your searching in so called haunted areas. I think people see angelic beings appear as humans too. Some show up to help you, then they are gone never to be seen again.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 4:52pmDid anyone forget which is greater, this world or the world beyond? I strongly believe we are on a tangent to another dimension which is far greater than we could ever imagine! I’m sure to always keep an open mind when it comes to understanding what tomorrow brings! Let’s face the facts and the unknown be more understanding! Because we all know there is a tomorrow beyond today and there is another place beyond right here! I would rather judge not those whom I truly have not walked in their shoes nor can they judge me for mine!
It’s time to be thankful for what we remember of those whom we knew!
Carry on America with great stride that you know in your heart what made you today!

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 5:29pmI don’t know about ghosts but I find spatial configurations-houses-rooms, buildings-can be pleasant or disturbing[and neutral-i guess when I just don't notice them]. When I watch the show on cable about house hunting-the shape of the rooms always affects me positievly or negatively. I notice the looks on the peoples‘ faces and can often detect that they’re effected the same way though not consciously. Instead they’ll speak about the size or quality of the floor or something-like they‘re searching to explain what really bothers or what they really like subconciously or like they’re masquerading what actually bothers them;the configurations of room itself.
Report Post »Someone at work once showed me a picture of his beloved new house he was buying in the country for when he would retire with his wife. I felt a chill when I saw the picture of the living room. It looked ominous.Of course I lied and said how nice. I recently learned that he retired and his wife left him and he went up to that house and shot himself.I keep thnking that room I saw in the picture -though it didn’t cause him to be suicidal-it goaded him on [am i nuts/].[may God have mercy on his soul].

I wonder if people that believe in god are more likely to believe in ghosts?
What do you believe in more…god, ghosts, aliens?
From AmericanStrega:
Nlitend1,
Report Post »I believe in God. I don’t know if I believe in aliens, except for the ones crossing our borders, and as for ghosts? Here’s a story;
I used to live in a house in Denver that was built in the 1920′s. It was a really cool house. The coolest thing was the feeling of a “presense” of someone else being there all the time. I would be down in the basement ironing and I could “feel” someone there with me. Now, this was not a bad feeling or anything scary. It was almost like having a friend or housemate being in the same room. There were times I would be reading the newspaper and it would feel like someone was standing behind the couch reading over my shoulder. Again, it wasn’t a bad feeling.
I then moved to a house in another part of Denver. From day one, this place had an evil feeling to it. The basement was the worse place. Heck, even our dogs hated the basement and would growl everytime I made them go down there with me to do laundry. Now, I don‘t know if there are really ghosts or if it’s some “echo” of time that is being shared at a particular moment. Or maybe it’s just the human imagination. One thing I do know. That second house scared the bleep out of me and I always hated being there.

Posted on October 28, 2011 at 4:12pmGhost stories are always interesting. I’ve heard many stories similar to yours and it is hard to ignore the possibility that an afterlife exists. I imagine that people who believe in ghosts are more likely to believe in god, they are logically similar. The belief in aliens, however, seems like it would go against some of the religious doctrine. Not to say god can’t exist if there are aliens, but the scriptures might require some amending. Nevertheless, I think it is interesting to evaluate the level of belief in these 3 things because there is an odd intersection of science and faith involved. We’ve found some remnants/proof of life in space, but no one has ever been able to provide any tangible proof of god or ghosts.

It’s my nutty guess this individual was a recently departed soul traveling quickly to say goodbye to someone. Now, that’s spooky!!
My own kids have said, if Dad hadn’t seen it too, they wouldn’t believe it.
