Sneak Peek: ‘Decision Points’ Memoir Offers ‘Strikingly Personal’ Look at G.W. Bush

Matt Drudge has done it again, beating all other media outlets to the punch.  This time, he’s managed to secure an exclusive look at “Decision Points,” the highly-anticipated autobiographical memoir of America’s 43rd President, George W. Bush. Sneak Peek: Decision Points Memoir Offers Strikingly Personal Look at G.W. Bush

With the book set to hit store shelves on November 9, Drudge gives us a brief synopsis of what to expect from what he calls a “strikingly personal work that takes very few shots at his critics,” even noting, “The former president even stays clear of Obama!”

From 911′s “Day of Fire” to “Katrina” to “Financial Crisis”, Bush explains how he returned to his faith, time and time again. [...]

The president reveals he gave the order to shoot down planes on September 11 — and at first thought the plane in PA had been shot down.

**

In the chapter “Stem Cells”, Bush describes receiving a letter from Nancy Reagan detailing a “wrenching family journey”.

But ultimately, Bush writes: “I did feel a responsibility to voice my pro-life convictions and lead the country toward what Pope John Paul II called a culture of life.”

In the book, Bush describes an emotional July 2001 meeting with the Pope at the pontiff’s summer residence.

Savaged by Parkinson’s, the Pope saw the promise of science, but implored Bush to support life in all its forms.

Later, at the Pope’s funeral — and after a prodding from his wife that it’s a time to “pray for miracles” — Bush found himself saying a prayer for the cancer-stricken ABCNEWS anchor Peter Jennings.

Bush has had his critics, including this recent jab from Jimmy Kimmel:

But, “[w]ith 14 chapters and an epilogue, it‘s Bush’s turn,” Drudge writes.

Drudge also quotes a “top Bush source” who says readers “will find the president strong, loving life, and ultimately at peace with the decisions he’s made.”

Bush, Bush, Clinton, Clinton… I’m tired of recurring surnames. I’m tired of incestuous politics.

I don’t trust him one bit. He may be a country boy and not be an elitist, but he definitely played one. Now he’s back to being “himself”, but it doesn’t change what he did. He knew the deal. He wasn’t “manipulated” into building the framework Obama is using against you all now.

Take off those rose colored glasses… the man was a puppet, just as Obama is. He wasn’t presidential. The last half decent president got his head blown apart in broad daylight.

That said, I’ll still read it for kicks. I’m sure at a personal level Bush is a great guy to hang around with… but he put all that aside while in office, and screwed you. He played the part of the “opposition” to the Democrats.

Oh, poor George… if only congress wasn’t so corrupt. :(

This good cop, bad cop thing is getting old.

I as you now to ponder upon what your response to me was in both your posts and mind. It is important to gain as much intelleigence about the enemy that you can. IMO, no one tried to get me to reveal more but just attacked me.

Is that wise given the cleverness and committment of the enemy?

Let him speak who is not afraid. I miss George Bush Jr. I voted for him both times and supported his move on Iraq with or without WMD. A War was in the offing for that region for a very long time for many reasons. The line was crossed on 911. That region was well policed for ten plus years by the US Navy and the battle zones marked out (good as any place to make a stand). Desert Storm was just a prelude to what we have today. America has been at war with radical Islam for many years prior to 911, but USA peeps just went about their busy lives while my shipmates stood the watch over you. We all have heard by now about how far terrorist attacks go back against the US and her people. Not enough courage to go against them in the 80′s with the Vietnam War still too fresh in our minds and more time was needed to heal those wounds, but while we healed and gained our courage to fight our enemies once again they gained an upper hand and struck first at the oil life lines. Our national will was steeled for Persian Gulf 1 War. Boots on the ground fighting Muslims was the most scariest thing this country has taken on since the Nazis and the Imperial Japanese. We did a half measure because those memories of Nam were still to vivid and a bog down their would not be tolerated thats why the overwhleming force the first time. But the second time was a little to over confident and a quick victory was believed to be at hand for PG2 War. Not so fast right? This is where I have a problem with Bush. He had the General at his right hand who fought PG1 and the Powell Doctrine was named for him as you may recall. Overwhelming Force in and out. Bush will eventually be remember well after the history is written completely and honestly of course.

If conservative companies don’t get on the ball and start printing history books for our nations schools, then the liberal book companies will continue to rewrite history to reflect their agenda!! I love President Bush. I saw his strength, steadfastness, quality up bringing, his class, his fortitude, his great wit and sense of humor, his compassion, his love, his beautiful family, his ethics, his humbleness, his tireless work 24/7 in the White House, his support and leadership guidance after 9/11 amidst a vitriol domestic campaign from the Progressives to discredit every one of his accomplishments. He stood up to the enemies of Western Civilization, unlike the present Bozo and thief temporary squatting in the Oval Office, for that the American people owe a debt of gratitude to our former President, George W. Bush.

President Bush walked into a system in place by corrupt Communist radical revolutionaries and he delayed all the sh– that is happening today from a meglomaniacal tyrannical corrupt political party that have forsaken America and Americans.

The more they run down President Bush, the more I love him. So stuff that!

We all make mistakes, but we do forget he was dealing with a hostile congress for two years and a small event called 9/11. Our enemies knew if you were not for us, you are against us. He sure takes the high road in not attacking those who love to attack and blame him at every turn. He and his wife brought dignity to the office of the presidency. No mtv and sesame street for them. He wasn’t a president I always agreed with. But he was a president I always respected and I believe he respected America. That can’t be said of this POTUS. He made mistakes but he never cast blame on another person like Obama and his followers do on a daily basis. During the first part of his presidency around the point that he got elected the second time, I felt safe and like our world was doing well. The economy was going in the right direction.. Then 2006 came and not too long after that did it all just go down the drain. After the take over of congress the US started down the pooper and Obama has taken it many steps farther. We‘re drowning in the sewer and he’s stepping on our heads, pushing us down to get what he wants.

burnthills: I too love President George W. Bush. All the while I wrote my book I kept a picture of him framed on the wall next to my computer desk that was sent to my husband who is a School Superintendent. It is still there today, among our family pictures. I understand that God sent him for such a time as this to carry out God’s wrath upon Babylon. I mentioned this one time before and got criticized for it, but the Bible tells us that Babylon would have double punishment and that is exactly what has happened. Once by the Medes and the Persians, and in our time by The United States of America under President George W. Bush’s presidency. God does not measure time like we do. A thousand years is but like a day for God, so though it took a long time for the second punishment of Babylon, which is today’s Iraq, that is beside the point, time-wise. God said that he would punish Babylon, because though he meant for Babylon, called the hammer of the whole earth, to just punish his people of the Southern Kingdom of Judah during their captivity, Babylon meant to destroy them completely and treated them ruthlessly and with much more cruelty then what God intended. The other reason that they would be destroyed a second time is because they destroyed God’s Temple in Jerusalem. That is all Biblical.
Today as I was studying the Bible, I came across a passage from Zechariah 10: 1 – 12, and I will include it here. It reads: Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone. The idols speak deceit, diviners see visions that lie; they tell dreams that are false, they give comfort in vain. Therefore the people WANDER LIKE SHEEP OPPRESSED FOR LACK OF A SHEPHERD. My anger burns against the shepherds (our rulers, religious leaders, and our elders), and I will punish the leaders; for the Lord Almighty will care for his flock, THE HOUSE OF JUDAH (meaning, the Southern Kingdom of Judah), and make them LIKE A PROUD HORSE IN BATTLE. From Judah will come the cornerstone (Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Savior of the whole world; and he did), from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler (rulers from the royal line of King David, which was hidden on the British Isle, Queen Elizabeth’s throne today). Together they will be like MIGHTY MEN trampling THE MUDDY STREETS OF BATTLE. Because THE LORD IS WITH THEM, they will fight and overthrow the horsemen (their enemies). I will STRENGTHEN THE HOUSE OF JUDAH (the Southern Kingdom of Judah which was taken captive to Babylon and later returned to the Promised Land; Modern Day Israel) and SAVE THE HOUSE OF JOSEPH (this house of Joseph is Manasseh – The United States of America, and Ephraim – Great Britain and the countries associated with them). I will RESTORE THEM because I have COMPASSION ON THEM. They will be as though I had not rejected them, FOR I AM THE LORD THEIR GOD and I WILL ANSWER THEM. The Ephraimites (Ephraim was the head tribe of the Northern Kingdom of Israel that went into captivity to Assyria and never returned to the Promised Land, so it includes all 12 tribes of Israel because part of the tribe of Judah is also among them) will become LIKE MIGHTY MEN, and their hearts will be glad as with wine. THEIR CHILDREN (all of us that are Israelites) WILL SEE IT AND BE JOYFUL; their hearts will rejoice IN THE LORD. I WILL SIGNAL (what God is doing now at this time in our history) FOR THEM (all 12 tribes of Israel in the last days) and GATHER THEM IN (see Ezekiel 37 again). Surely I will redeem them; they will be AS NUMEROUS AS BEFORE (we were to number the stars of heaven, the dust of the earth, and the sand of the sea). Though I SCATTER THEM AMONG THE PEOPLES (plural), YET IN DISTANT LANDS THEY WILL REMEMBER ME (we are remembering God now). THEY (all 12 tribes of Israel) AND THEIR CHILDREN WILL SURVIVE (that is a promise from God Almighty, THE GOD OF ISRAEL as He is always called in Scripture), and THEY WILL RETURN (to our inheritance to claim it in Israel). I (meaning, God) will bring them back from Egypt (where we were held in bondage for 400 years) and gather them from ASSYRIA (where the Northern Kingdom of Israel was taken to in captivity; these same Assyrian/Goths of the swastika that I keep telling you about that traveled through the pages of history with us and now seek to rule over us). I will bring them to Gilead (in Israel) and Lebanon, and THERE WILL NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH FOR THEM (we are too numerous a people, and so though we go to Israel to claim it as our inheritance, we will not live there). They will pass through the SEA OF TROUBLE; the SURGING SEA WILL BE SUBDUED (the progressive Assyrian/Goths will not rule over us) and all the depths of the Nile will dry up. ASSYRIA’S PRIDE WILL BE BROUGHT DOWN (all the schemes they have prepared for us will not succeed) and Egypt’s scepter (their king/Pharaoh) will pass away. I (meaning, God) will strengthen them (the Israelites) in the Lord and IN HIS NAME (The God of Israel) THEY WILL WALK (we will again acknowledge and worship our God, the God of Israel in the last days).
The schemes of our progressive enemies will not succeed, and so to give you courage, I wrote this piece tonight. Your vote will defeat this enemy if you will only go to the polls on Nov. 2nd and let your voices be heard. Do not be silent anymore, for this enemy that has come against you comes also against God Almighty, because the battle is not ours, it is Gods. In the eyes of this enemy they are a law to themselves as Habakkuk 1: 7 tells us, and their own strength is their god, as Habakkuk 1: 11 tells us.
Do not be discouraged or afraid; trust in The God of Israel!!!

George Bush’s unemployment was 5.5, stock market 14,000
Democratic Congress from 2007 – END OF STORY

This is a re-post until after the election: Please do the same
I received this in an email and thought it was worth posting as a reminder of what and when things happened…..

      Remember January 3, 2007

…… I don‘t understand WHY the people running for office don’t say this in their ads!!!

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 it was actually January 3, 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, the start of the 110th Congress.

The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:

January 3, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
      At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

      The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

      Remember the day.

January 3, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

      BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Thank Congress for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco’s!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001, because it was financially risky for the U.S. economy, but no one was listening).

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA.

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie??? OBAMA and the Democratic Congress.

So when someone tries to blame Bush…
REMEMBER JANUARY 3, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”

Bush may have been in the car, but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving. Set the record straight on Bush!

So, as you listen to all the commercials and media from the Democrats who are now distancing themselves from their voting record and their party, remember how they didn‘t listen to you when you said you didn’t want all the bailouts, you didn’t want the health care bill, you didn’t want cap and trade, you didn‘t want them to continue spending money we don’t have.

I’m not forgetting their complicity in getting us into this mess, and I’ll be marking my vote accordingly!

      @Snow

ROFL… Your comment made me wish my former colleague (a seriously committed Progressive and fan of Spooky Dude) was still working here. I would love to buy the book and leave it on my desk in plain sight and see what happened. :)

I’m looking forward to reading his book. Did not agree with many of his decisions, but respect him overall. Like me, he loves Jesus, and I look forward to sitting down with him in Heaven.

Because, God has infinite grace. Keep in mind, that all of our sins have damned us to hell, from the smallest most insignificant sinful thoughts to Mao’s mass murder. God is YOUR salvation, just as he is everyone else’s. You’d best get off your high horse, you’re down here with the rest of the planet as far as God is concerned.

I hope there is enough copies availible to be able to obtain one. This should be great to read, and I have had three associates who are fanatically blinded Progressives denouncing the book and the former President Bush…even before they have read the book.

Thought they would go ballistic when I said “read the book, who has the guts to read the book…”

Mall, as the curtain is lifted, you’ll find that Bush Jr is a NEOCON warmonger. Remember what Christ said, “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. Glenn quoted that scripture on his TV program.. T

he corolarry is “Cursed is the warmonger for he shall be called the child of LUCIFER” Play the continious war game and you serve Lucifer as does Saul Alinsky. Isn’t that great company to be in?

Tower that’s a great link that will be denied by most warmongers here. Bush, Jr‘s Grandfather was a solid supporter of Hitler’s rise in Germany while he served in the Senate from CONN. He did back off later. As Glenn Beck says, check it out for yourself.

Where’s the letter “P” in your name? Also, don‘t quote the bible when someone like you probably doesn’t follow it’s teachings. I’m far from a perfect person but at least I try not to be a hypocrite.

I like GW. He’s the kind of fellow that you could trust on a personal level. Whereas, i don’t like Obama,.he is not the sort of man I could hang with. That being said, both of them work for the same globalist power. The creep of global socialism has been so insidious as to become invisible to most of us. Time lapse photography, if it could be applied to our culture, to show the last 30 years, would show, dramatically, how our country has changed. All our recent leaders, to some extent, have lent themselves to the “progressive” agenda.
According to Biblical reference. the Lord has allowed, if not directed this degradation of our culture. It has been foretold. The ‘beast’, that is, the global governance, takes nearly complete control. The main reason is that it promises peace…and all the people (almost) believe this. This IS the will of God, to His purpose.
We, all, are in the same boat, people. and there is no political solution to our common problem.
We have fanatics on all sides, now. We also have threats from all sides. We must keep our eyes on the prize and not let go of the Gospel. All the politics belong to a world that cannot survive. Don’t let it be a distraction. pray continually, cherish the word……..max

There is no clearer evidence that Bush is against the conservative movement that days before the mid-terms where they promise to make clear gains, some at the expense of ‘moderate’ republicans and blue dog democrats, W starts running around to remind people of his bad brand

“Look at me,” he shouts.“ ”Hey, voter, over here! Here I am! Remember me? Remember me?”

      Yes. Go away.
