Sneak Peek: Filmmaker Ami Horowitz Goes Shirtless, Dances in New GBTV Documentary ‘Showdown Wisconsin’

GBTV Real News Special Report on Wisconsin Recall to Air Tuesday Night

This Tuesday night, GBTV will air the latest Real News Special Report following the powerful “Rumors of War III” last month. “Showdown Wisconsin” from filmmaker Ami Horowitz examines the truth about the recall efforts for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. Check out a promo for the documentary, which (warning) does include a shirtless Horowitz:

But there’s more to the documentary than just skin and dancing. Horowitz also sits down for an in-depth interview with Wis. Gov. Scott Walker, who has become public enemy number one of the unions. Still need a reason to watch? Here’s more:

WHY WATCH? Don’t miss one of the biggest stories in America that the mainstream media is missing. Governor Walker has literally turned around a dying state economy. He took a state deficit in the billions and turned it into a surplus. He turned the tide of jobs fleeing his state by creating one of the most welcoming environments for small businesses in the country.  Now millions upon millions of Wisconsin residents have signed petitions for his recall thanks to influence and propaganda by the unions, upset that he took away their collective bargaining.

WHAT’S AT STAKE? If the unions and left wing radicals are successful in getting Governor Walker booted out of office, no politician will take them on again…not in this lifetime.

GBTV Real News Special Report on Wisconsin Recall to Air Tuesday Night

The special airs Tuesday at 6pm ET on GBTV and will also be available on demand. You can watch it for free by signing up for GBTV Plus and starting your free 14 day trial.

Speaking of investigations and they cant find anything on Walker… sounds like Sarah Palin when they went through her thousands of emails and found nothing. A Palin/Walker 2016 ticket would be ideal!

    Hey Skimmer,

sure Wisconsin came in last for jobs created. But that is because Miwaukee dragged down the whole state. It pains me to no end to hear Barrett crow about the state loosing 12,500 jobs and it is al Walkers faullt, when if it were not for Milwaukee we would be at a postive job growth.

Tax breaks for the rich? Gimme a break. The real greed in this society is in the public sector, specifically those who are in the public unions. As those of us who have seen significant cuts in income during the Obama years know, when times are tough, when the money’s not there, you must cut back. But not the public union folks. They still want their raises, their free health care, their generous and criminal public pensions.

You didn’t negotiate those pensions and benefits with the tax payers. You bought politicians who gave you those benefits in exchange for union support to elect and re-elect them. The private sector has made the painful adjustments in this Obama recsssion. But somehow you‘re entitled to the ridiculous benefits you’re getting? The public union folks, the greediest of the greedy refuse to “pay their fair share” when it comes to health insurance and retirement/pension benefits.

Gov Walker is finally getting you people to pay a small portion of what everyone else has to pay and you go ballistic. I wouldn’t have been as generous as the good governor. But what it exposed is how much of a drain you are on the public’s resources. In one year, to go from a budget deficit to a surplus? He didn’t fire one teacher !

You greedy bastards are gonna get yours. It’s time you PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE ! !

The rich have seen their income grow at a rate unparalleled for the last 40 years while income for the middle class has stayed the same or gone down so you think they deserve another break? If you owned a company I would bet you would want to pay your workers the least you could so your profits would be the best. Super you took the risk to start the business and deserve the rewards. But at what cost? It‘s gotten to the point that it’s all about $$$$ screw em I got mine right !

Uh… Skimmer 57, You’re just spewing labor talking points. The rich are going to make money always. Why? Because they’re educated and they work hard. Most worked their way to the top, unlike Ted Kennedy or John Kerry, who inherited or married their wealth. The rich aren’t the enemy. They create real jobs – not goverment jobs. Real jobs make real differences in real people’s lives. That’s a good thing. Punishing the job creators does no one any good. It just makes loser liberals feel good.

When times are good, job creators make a lot of money – as they should. When times are bad, they take a beating as they are doing under Obama. If you think all the rich are thriving now, please check yourself in to the clinic for drug testing.

You are right about one thing… the middle class is taking a beating now and that is unfortunate. But that does not include the public sector union folks. They are still making out like bandits. Fortunately, that is coming to an end.

Gov Walker = more jobs = more tax payers = more tax revenue = balanced budget = prosperity for all. But best of all, it cuts off the head the public sector unions that have been bleeding Wisconsin dry.

Middle class=can’t wait to get working and married and start a family. High school education- get me a job. If I am not complacent I can continue in my education, improve my resume and “move on up”. I must stay away from wasteful habits and I must be frugal, to accomplish this.
This is called “the American way”. If you are willing to sacrifice and delay personal gratification, you can get “rich”. ( Which in our culture represents ‘liberty’.)
You can never be one of the elite……The “elite”….don’t need money. They live off of you. Their currency is power, not money. and power does certainly corrupt. In these times, ONLY the corrupt can attain(elite) power. If you are not willing to lie, cheat, and kill, you won’t be able to keep any power that you can use.
The Father of Liars, himself, a supernatural, is the most corrupt of all beings, The master of the elite. There is no line he won’t cross. No limits on his depravity. No conscience. No mercy.
He’s insulated, publically anonymous, and most likely exhibits many psychotic traits. The people around him all know his nature and live in an excited state of terror. He’s really angry, and desperate. What Governor Walker did was very brave. Everyone in Wisconsin should be grateful (yes, I know they’re not) Here in Ohio Governor Kasich did a similar thing (sb5/issue 2) which failed to pass. But what Walker and Kasich did was a first step to tuning their states around economically and socially. The unions are corrupt, they are infiltrating the schools and the workplace. We pay higher and higher taxes just so the union employees (teachers) can make more money. The unions need to be put in their places, but the thing is they are too powerful. I hope that more states can become right to work (we’re trying!) and implement bills similar to sb5 and whatever Walker did.

I live in Wisconsin and I fully support Gov. Scott Walker. I have seen firsthand how his reforms have benefited ALL the people of Wisconsin. My property taxes have been reduced as have my neighbors’ and I have seen school districts hire MORE teachers (as opposed to the guaranteed lay-offs had not the budget problems been addressed) with the money saved due to Gov. Walker’s reforms.

I have also seen how hard the state Democrats have worked to KILL various job projects throughout the state rather than allow the Governor to claim any credit. Here in the northern part of the state, the Democrats defeated a proposed ecologically-sound mining project that would have brought hundreds of high-paying jobs to a very depressed area. This is a hot topic that will not be forgotten and will certainly work against the recall efforts of the job-killing Democrats.

Even Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the likely Democrat candidate to run against Gov. Walker, has benefited from Wisconsin’s reforms. Barrett readily admits that Milwaukee‘s budget has been helped by Walker’s reforms.

Even with the Democrats sabotaging proposed job projects in the state, Wisconsin’s state unemployment number is down to 6.4% — maybe Obama could learn a few things from our Governor.

Scotty Walker promised 250,000 new jobs if he was elected! WI. leads the nation in jobs lost. The first thing he did in office was to cut taxes on the wealthy and gut education! Walker himself dropped out of Marquette because he couldn’t make it. There is also a John Doe investigation going on about his election. The guy is a mess who has split the great state of WI. in two.More then two thirds of his money comes from out of state fat cats that only have their best interests at heart. RECALL WALKER!

The unions had this recall planned and ready to roll the day Walker was elected because they knew he was going after collective bargaining. What collective bargaining has frequently meant in practice is that unions never have to concede any of the benefits they’ve won through a collective bargaining agreement unless they want to do so. In other words, when there’s a budget crunch, the union–not the school district or local government–gets to choose between massive layoffs and slight benefits reductions. Long before Scott Walker was elected, Milwaukee Public Schools fired 482 teachers–including Megan Sampson, a young educator named an “outstanding first year teacher” by the Wisconsin Council of Teachers of English.

Walker has argued, citing a 2005 study, that school districts could save $68 million if teachers switched to the generous state employees’ health plan from the WEA Trust. But so long as collective bargaining agreements remain in place, school districts can‘t change plans or reduce benefits without the local teachers’ union signing off. And that’s why Walker and Wisconsin Republicans want to limit collective bargaining to wages.

Since taking office, Governor Walker and Republicans in the legislature have eliminated the $3.6 billion deficit left to us by the previous administration of Dem.Gov.Doyle, added the largest influx of dollars to Medicaid in state history, and saved more than a billion dollars of taxpayer money.

Whether or not more jobs are created is a nuanced issue that the Gov. doesn’t have direct control over. However, Walker has given workers more freedom by:
      - ending the union compulsory dues
      - allowing workers to choose whether to join a union
      - enacting pension and health contribution requirements to bring the government in line with private-sector practices.
      - preventing massive layoffs in public education by saving tens of millions of dollars in bloated benefits bills.
      - Ending the state union monopoly on teachers’ health insurance plans allowed dozens of school districts to switch their coverage to more competitive bidders. At least 25 school districts did so, saving the districts more than $200 per student. Hundreds of millions more in savings are in the works as school districts and local governments turn deficits to surpluses.

These moves have nearly wiped out the nearly $3.6 billion deficit he inherited from his free-spending predecessors. You can take your SEIU protest sign and your fair-weather politics and go back to your dimly lit coffee shop with the rest of the progressives in WI.

Walker did NOT get rid of collective bargaining as you suggest. All he did was say that any wages negotiated above the consumer price index would have to go to referendum so the folks that have to pay the bill can decide whether or not they want to pay it. What’s wrong with that?

What you might want to consider doing is some research and find out what’s really going on rather than regurgitating the talking points from the union thugs that were drilled into you.

I was at the protests in Madison last Feb in support of Walker. I tried numerous times to engage opponents in a debate and each and every time all they did after spouting their talking points was get angry, call me names and walk away. Many of us have realized that unions, like most politicians, no longer serve the people, but serve their own interests which is staying in power. Private sector unions can negotiate with the management of the company they contract with, Private sector unions negotiate with the very same politicians their money buys elections for. As a Taxpayer and resident of Wisconsin, I will not support a situation where I have no seat at the bargaining table. I am footing the bill. NOT private company dollars. Normally, I avoid donating money to politicians – as there is just far too much money in the races, well beyond what is needed for travel costs, and stating credentials and posting positions. (most of that money goes to the MSM anyway.)

But Walker gets a check because he has taken the battle to the Union President and done so in a very important state. The war Walker is fighting is a war of attrition – and the assets of the Unions are being depleted at ever increasing rates. Soon they will not have the funds to pay for buses and hourly rates for protestors (non-unionized no less.) they will not be able to fight for Socialism forever.
Remember the Dems in the Wisconsin State house leaving the state like cry babies just over a year ago! The Union behavior is shocking.

We have a DA who has been investigating Walker for nearly 24 months and can’t find anything because the man is a saint. Yet the investigation continues because the DA is being pushed to keep the investigation going so the Democrats can use it as a campaign issue. You have unions pouring volunteers and millions into the state to try and influence the recall election. We have Obama’s crew in the state trying to influence the recall election and pouring millions into it. We have Democrat judges who illegally signed recall petitions claiming they are unbiased and slapping down voter ID laws put into place so they can cheat come the recall election. The newspaper and media in Wisconsin is completely in the bag against Walker and are reporting false stories about him to try and make him lose. We had Democrats actually block a mining company opening up here because they didn’t want the added jobs to look good for Walker. Democrats have lost the issue on unions but now they are trying to attack him on other issues now that have nothing to do with the recall.

Wisconsin is running better now then it ever has, our taxes are DOWN, yes I said down, less teachers have been let go this year than any other year, we are financially stable and companies are seriously thinking about opening up here. Please God support Wa
