NBC
Posing as the airline pilot of the flight he was kicked off of last week, Alec Baldwin apologized to himself on “Saturday Night Live.”
Appearing on the show’s “Weekend Update” segment, host Seth Meyers introduced the “pilot” of that flight, Captain Steve Rogers, who of course was Baldwin.
“It was awful, Seth,” he said in a rumbling Southern accent when Meyers asked him to describe the incident. “Which is why it was very important for me to come here and on behalf of everyone at American Airlines, to issue an apology to Mr. Alec Baldwin.”
Questioning the obvious ploy, Meyers asked, “Alec, are you sure this is the right way to handle this?”
“Yeah keep going!” Baldwin insisted. “Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure, and I am ashamed at the way he was treated! What harm would it do to let him keep playing his game, not any game mind you, but a word game for smart people!”
Referencing the airline’s serious financial trouble, he added: “We’re bankrupt, how dare we speak ill of the great Alec Baldwin?”
When Meyers asked about reports that Baldwin slammed the bathroom door of the plane so hard it could be heard from the cockpit, the “pilot” responded knowingly: “‘Words with Friends’ can be frustrating,” he said, referring to the online game Baldwin was playing.
Asked again whether he was sure this was an appropriate way to handle the situation, Baldwin said, “Seth I’m not Alec — but I wish I was, that man’s a hero! A smart hero!”

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 1:26pmHe Alec Baldwin and SNL are marvelous. Yes the airlines have become arrogant pigs, and yes anyone with half a brain and self respect would not fly Continental, American or most other US airlines. Service is pathetic food is trash. It is shameful.

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 3:53pmAlec Baldwin needs more than just being kicked off a flight. Between is idiotic out of touch parroted (to the word!) Twitter rants and his holier than thou attitude, maybe he needs to experience life as an out of work actor. These actors forget who pays to see their movies. And in the past, it may not have hit them too hard in the wallet, but the awareness of these actors and their political shenanigans have gone up, way up. Many of us refuse to see anything they are in. Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway and many others are on my list of people who will never see a dime of my money.

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 10:10amFunny.
The airlines, especially the US ones, have gotten horrible. They treat their customers like dirt. Around the same time that the Alec Baldwin story broke, the same thing happened to three middle aged professional women who were flying from Miami to NY I think. They did not know each other prior to the flight, but were seated next to each other. All three got kicked off the plane because one complained when the steward was mishandling her carry-on, one complained that her seat was broken, and the third one stood up for the pother two when they were getting kicked off.
There is no customer service on US airlines any more. The last time I flew a US airline, a young woman asked the steward to help her fit her carry-on in the upper compartment. He told her that it was not his job. Unbelievable! On any European airline, I have always seen stewardesses helping travelers fit their bags without even being asked.
I always fly Swiss or Lufthansa whenever I can. They treat you like a valued customer.

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 10:33amAirlines don’t have to put up with liberal crap…..Business have a right to deny service if they want to. Habitual complainers = Liberal creeps

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 10:57amI worked for an airline for 30 years…the customer was always right back then. You would not beleive the crap we had to put up with. You were not there…the women were prob yelling or calling names or just plain mean..Airlines don’t put up with customers abusing their staff any longer…People are not tossed off planes for no reason. I agree service is not what it use to be..but then customers are not what they use to be either. Manners have gone out the window in this country. I’m 61, our generation was the last one to have been taught manners.

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 8:16pmI have only been on an aircraft a few times in my life and the last one I jumped out of at 13,000 ft. What a blast jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Flight service, not much experience electro/mechanics, a lot. I have dealt with digital communication technologies and cables have RF shield specifications, if that is exceeded it could cause a loss of data. It is likely there would only be a temporary spike. The electronics themselves would not be damaged but who is to say that the effected comm. link didn’t lead to a processor that controls hydraulic control solenoids. Cause pressure to simultaneously exist where it shouldn’t and damage a seal on the elevator or rudder control hydraulic ram(s) causing the aircraft to crash. There are literally thousands of possibilities some fatal most not. Who wants to take the chance? Or would you rather someone else take it for YOU while flying with them.

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 8:59amSo the Airline Industry is the problem….? What an TOOL!! He is being used by Unions as a mouthpiece..and MSNBC is letting this insult to the public happen..Wonder why? Maybe because the Cable-Satellite industry, behind the scenes– is Union? Maybe its because Reagan deregulated the airline industry..THe Airline industry was B-reaking the system, and Unions would not give up the FED train to Hell..Here is Baldwin, the new cham–PEON for RE-regulating the Airline industry..Try again Peon–Last I checked, TSA-Homeland-FAA has been regulating flight rules to just about every part of the Industry. Ohh, What a tool this guy. Don’t the Networks still get Federal money, A-merican Broadcasting Network, C-entral.., N-atiotional…BC..

Posted on December 11, 2011 at 8:35amThis is the reason why you don’t see Alec in movies anymore, or the others that have permanent reservations at the funny farm. They get a little fame under their belt and then they think they can do anything they want. Well if that’s true then let them buy their own planes and then they can play with anything they want to.
