So what if it is? The right of free assembly applies to everyone whether you agree with their opinions or not. If they want to advocate changing the laws of the country in which they live in ways that you (and I) wouldn’t want to see, that too is their right.

WHY is this show made out to be relevant when it is truly anything but? Never ceases to amaze me how Libs think shows like SNL and Comedy Central are valid sources of “news”. Well, I suppose if you’re not going to bother with facts and doing your homework, might as well be the class(less) clown.

All the negative comments here are the reason why libs don’t respect us. I suggest we try a little more tolerance for humor. If they had left off the the tag line (sponsored by RNC) this entire skit was spawned by a bit Greg Gutfeld of Red Eye (late night Fox) did on the Glenn Beck show. He suggested adding a Muslim Gay bar next door to the mosque since the message the Imam was trying to project with the mosque was “tolerance”.

Lighten up people. Comedy is for everyone, and that piece was just as critical as the whole mockery of “tolerance” the left is doing as it was crtitical of the right when it said “sponsored by RCN.”

We conservatives will get a lot farther with independents if we stop with the hate speech about everything we see. That’s they THEY do. Let’s be the mature party who “get’s the joke“ instead of ”being the joke.”

That said, if SNL did a majority of such skits against passions of the left, the left would have national protests in the streets!

Be prepared for more and more of this as the elections draw near. We are going to be bombarded with so called “comedy” skits portraying conservatives as stupid, greedy, intolerant, hypocritical, perverted, and uncaring. The liberal media is not going to go down without a fight. Also be prepared for all sort of wild allegations against Republican and Conservative leaders. During the last elections the mainstream “news” organizations came up with an accusation that McCain had some type of an affair with a female lobbyist because they had both spent the night at the same hotel. Not the same room, the same hotel. There was no proof, everyone denied it, and after the election the story suddenly went away. Same with Dan Rather and his false claims against Bush and the Air Guard just before his election. Turned out it was proved that the documents were false and the story died right after the election. Expect the same this election. There will be “breaking” stories against Palin, Beck, or Boehner. That is how our “unbiased” main stream media works. Can’t have those crazy right wingers win an election so they will run any story against them no matter how flimsy the evidence or how biased the source.

I have many times said “I wish we had a the same comedians the left has” – Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld is excellent, too bad it comes on at 3:00 a.m. (but that is midnight where I live). And although I used to not like Dennis Miller before he went right, now that he is on the right side he gets some great lines off.

We need a right-wing comedian. Where are they?

I was watching the show Louis C.K. lasy night and the did a scene where there is a “so-called” republican comedian on stage, and his jokes were racist and not funny. That is what you should be enraged about, not this.

His jokes were “Geeze, Barack Obama, they want to give him his own holiday already and he hasn’t even been shot yet.” (NOTE: that was written by a liberal writing lines for a right-wing comedian).

If you watch the very end closely, after they say “Paid for by the RNC”, in a lower voice and in lighter type it says “and 70% by the DNC”. There are many liberal democrats in NYC who do not want Park51, not because we are anti-Muslim, but because we feel it is inappropriate and insensitive to the victims of 9/11. The WTC was bombed by Muslim extremists. A Muslim Cultural Center is a symbol, and symbols set off emotional responses, whether they mean to or not. People are still affected by what went down that day. We do not hate Muslims, we hate what those extremists did. Loud-mouthed conservative bigot haters keep many from speaking out, for fear that they will be labeled the same. I do not hate anyone, including Muslims. But I love my city and I love my people, and this Muslim Cultural Center is causing way too much pain. They need to move it.

Unfortunately, SNL might be right. That’s the problem that we are having now. If someone doesn’t agree with a subject then all we can do is make fun of it. This is no laughing matter. Gays don’t care about AMERICA, all they care about is what they want. Muslims don’t care about AMERICA, all they care about is what they want. The AMERICAN PEOPLE need to start fighting for what they believe in. If we don’t, then AMERICA will cease to exist. Because it will be reduced to no one can make a statement or do anything that will not conflict with the belief’s of someone else. That’s why God said not to let other idols into your life. Because it will cause divisions in belief. Well we have for the most part, let in other idols now we are paying for it. We need to quit playing around with God and start taking Him seriously.

Heavy, I would avoid the blanket statements…not everyone in every group fits the bill…but you are correct – special interest groups, regardless of what they want, are dividing the country and detracting attention from the real issues and (in many cases) corrupting the government. Instead of focusing on these (often) fringe groups, the government needs to focus on the larger issues, first and foremost of which is limited Federal Government. Once government is limited, it will lack the power to assist the special interests and the problem will fix itself.

      In the meantime, we should:
      1) Eliminate lobbying on behalf of foreign governments and businesses;
      2) Eliminate lobbying while Congress is in session.

I can see SNL is still up to the same old libturd agenda – laughing while they help destroy America. Libturds like to make jokes about their sick agenda to try and distract, Obummer was the master of this. Like when the lady recently told him she was tired of defending him, and with his **** eating grin he just laughed it off. The truth is that libs actually are for all the things they are lampooning. Howdy, Philo.
The problem has been us! We, the “SILENT” Majority. We’ve allowed all of these minority groups run right over the MAJORITY!
I have watched it happen out here in Washington State in our little rural county the same as it has happened nation wide.
And, you know what? We, the SILENT Majority woke up out here and started voicing ourselves publicly, and wow did we find out just how many of us there are!
WE can make the major changes, and we can win back our country if just do not shut up again!
By nature, it seems we just want to be left alone, but that will not work anymore.
We need to remain engaged and active or we will lose more ground, let alone again any!

And, If we go back to being the “SILENT Majority” expect to be ignored for the noisy minority and watch our country degrade even more!

Just from reading all the comments here, I think most people didn’t really understand the joke:

The joke was NOT that this is what Democrats would necessarily support all in ONE facility.
The JOKE WAS that this facility is supposed to be the stereotypical NIGHTMARE for conservatives.
It has all the things conservatives are stereotyped as hating: Muslims, respect for gay rights, respect for women’s reproducive rights, and cultural diversity all nearby Ground Zero.

It’s worth noting that the REAL “Mosque At Ground Zero” is NOT on or at Ground Zero. The REAL thing is a few blocks away. New York City is a densely populated area in a small amount of space. Chances are there are a LOT of establishments AROUND Ground Zero that some might take offense to if RHETORICALLY JUXTAPOSED with Ground Zero.

Before the Twin Towers were destroyed, it’s worth noting that the South Tower actually HAD a mosque inside it. The North Tower had a make-shift mosque in one of its stair-wells.

      Please embrace sanity!

I think allowing a mosque that is, in essence, a “shrine To The Magnificent 13,” a memorial to the attack on America, is insane, even if it is a few blocks away.

To me it makes no difference that both towers has mosques in them. There could have been one on each floor for all I care. People keep talking about the Muslims that died in the ATTACK by Muslims that hate America and everything it stands for. The Mosque built as a monument to the successful attack of an American icon of free trade and capitalism is a slap in the face of all Americans, not just New York. I say make fun of it before it is built because after it is there it will be a wound all over again until it is removed.
