SNL: Mitt Romney Assures Everyone His Campaign Is Not Peaking Too Soon

SNL: Mitt Romney Assures Everyone His Campaign Is Not Peaking Too Soon

NBC

Saturday Night Live‘s Mitt Romney sought to assuage voters that his campaign might be in trouble following Tuesday’s triple loss to Rick Santorum in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri.

(The real Mitt Romney had a better Saturday night than the one portrayed on SNL, coming off a win in the Maine caucuses and victory among conservative activists in the Conservative Political Action Committee presidential straw poll.)

“Hello, I’m Mitt Romney. You‘ve just caught me in my den where I’m relaxing and not appearing ill at ease,” he said, standing behind a chair instead of in it.

Romney continued, “Tuesday‘s results couldn’t have pleased us more. Just what we were hoping for and nowhere near peaking too soon.”

It was a close thing in Colorado, where the polls suggested they could have won, “which would have upset out carefully crafted strategy of staying below the radar.”

Instead, everything went according to plan he said, though he admitted some pundits viewed the night as a victory for Santorum.

“You could make that argument in the sense that he did get the most votes in each of the primaries held that day,” Romney said. “But I’ll tell you this: I sure wouldn’t want to be Rick Santorum right now, with all that pressure and the expectations and the tension and so on, being more popular with the party’s base than the other candidates, et cetera. No thanks.”

With that, he turned to the golden retriever that had been sitting beside him — but it didn’t go as planned when the dog went into a barking fit.

“He does that with me,” Romney said, trying to laugh off the dog’s reaction. “You want to go back on that roof?”

Romney is a liberal poser. Someone posted this awhile back. Very interesting.
RomneyCARE ENDED my thought of EVER voting for Shxty Mitty. Nothing Gingrich or Santorum did matches what a liar Romney is.

Between January and September 2011, Mitt Romney’s Bain Capital gave Barack Obama $27,500!

So far this year, Bain Capital donated $123,200 to the Democratic National Committee. They also donated to a Romney super PAC; $1.25 million!

Romney’s companies have sent 25% of this year’s donations to the Democrats, while in 2008, 2/3 of their money went to Obama!

Romney‘s top contributor is Goldman Sachs who was Obama’s top contributor in 2007-2008:

“According to Federal Election Commission figures compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics, Goldman Sachs’ political action committee and individual contributors who listed the company as their employer donated $994,795 during 2007 and 2008 to Obama’s presidential campaign.”
April 20, 2010 From Robert Yoon, CNN Political Research Director

Isn’t it funny how so many people who are tired of the same old thing, go for the same old thing election after election

Then look at another list and see that the employees of that company like candidate B to a tune of this much money.

Look he is a social conservative, believes government has a right to tell you how to live, and legislate morality and that the government knows better then you about how you should live your life!!!! I am starting to believe its almost certain that Obama is going to be re elected because the only guy that believes you know better then the government how to live your life is Ron Paul and he can’t win because of the forces against him. Of coarse the trade off is that his supporters won’t get behind any of the other government knows better candidates (Take your pick). So bummed people are so unaware of whats REALLY happening. :(

Have to do whatever it takes to beat Obama. So Romney isn’t as conservative as many republicans would like he stands the better chance of beating Obama. He comes across as tough on the issues, the others don’t. He comes across as being a strong leader for the world, the others don’t. We all know the history of Gingriche’s liberalism but Santorum has historical moments of it also. I don’t see how anyone can say that either one of them is more conservative than Romney. As far as Romneycare goes, it was a state decision. And he says he will repeal BamaCare.

Romney made a special wind break for the dog’s carrier. The dog enjoyed traveling with the large family on trips rather than being unhappy at the vet’s. What is the difference between the protected dog carrier on the top of the top of the van vs. the back of a pick-up? Don’t be too quick to condemn Romney for loving the dog enough to bring it along with the family.

Huh, what did I hit on something with my “long rambling diatribes” that bothered you. Get a life huh… Lets see what you talk about. “Don’t know what Allain is attempting to do other than grab his 15 minutes, but anyone with basic knowlege of physics can point out the fallacy of his arguments. “This doesn’t seem all too likely since he was not touching the ground the whole time”. Can Fujitra leviate while he is moving forward? The still shot of his feet off the ground is clearly before he extends his arms to push Simpson. And his momentum doesn’t go to zero just because his feet leave the ground anyway. Simpson clearly embellished, but he was clearly shoved. Fujita’s arms did not extend themselves.”
Yup your right I shouldn’t talk about the finer points of politics and mob nature, I should talk about a football player fake falling to have a penalty called….
Truthfully when I write I do it for myself, I do it publicly so that others might try to pick apart what I say so I can fine tune my arguments and points better. Unfortunately not one person has responded on any points I make, they talk around the edges, take shots at some candidate they think I support, or they say no one wants to read what I say. All really worthless.

Even this site has become nothing but

    Pro Romney vs. Anti Romney

I blame Beck’s assaults on Newt Gingrich which started the ball rolling. We all had a favorite when the race started but no one really had one they hated. Gingrich got to 40+% in Iowa and then Beck started the attacks on Gingrich, here is proof for all you haters…… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi2sJHeHg_8
Beck could have stated each day, if I were voting today I would vote for Santorum but he had to spend hours and days and weeks trashing Gingrich. Now Beck’s Base is split and we are Romney or Anti Romney.

I no longer can listen to Beck…. Crap like this is just to “ T R U T H Y Y Y ” for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhOBFCmK2kk That did not sound like an agenda to me.

The same people who laughed at SNL making fun of Gingrich last week don’t find this funny this week.

AND W H A T is with calling everyone bigots. It is like a bunch of Black people calling everyone Racists.

Rush, Hannity, and Mark Levin seem to be the professionals in this industry. They are 1,2, and 3 in listeners and that is why. I was a huge Beck Fan but when you see the destruction done to his base and show you C A N ‘ T help but ask yourself why and how did we get to this point. There are people on this site who are just blind followers and anything B says is Gold. Beck said to question with Boldness, why aren’t you?

Not getting your point really. We had a favorite but then Glenn started attacking Newt (pointing out things he said). Now we are all split anti-Romney and pro-Romney, yes this is a mistake you should just be pro-your-guy. If you have a national talk show and thought someone is bad for the country/party then you could be anti-someone to try to influence the vote of your listeners. So are you saying Glenn should not have gave his opinion because it was not the same as yours, or even if it was the same as yours he should not had given it? Should he only talk about all the good things about each candidates and never call into question any of their missteps? No wait you said to question with boldness at the end which means to.. question with boldness. The problem is he questioned your guy I would guess. Look MS-GlennBC someone you trust can not influence you to change your vote with facts, do you think one of these candidates can change the mind of an Obama lover? Newt winning debates in the general would be worthless, no one on the other side would trust him, and you trusted Glenn but his words did nothing for you. No conservative trust Mittens, nothing he can say will change that (how many times has he lied about what his book said) so why should we support someone we can not trust. Sorry I didnt know what candidate you support nor did I understand your point from what you wrote. People are pro and anti because they are simple, just pick who best reps you.

You ever think that Glenn might be anti-Newt because Newt co-sponsored the fairness doctrine and Reagan had to veto it? Newt said at the time that he thought without the fairness doctrine the left would rule the airwaves and have an unfair advantage. Now Newt is against the fairness doctrine because conservatives rule the airwaves. What do you know now the left wants to have the fairness doctrine and they use Newt’s own argument in why we need it just change one word.

If Newt had his way there would be no talk radio.

Once elected 7 new congress members saw corruption in the house bank and house post office, and said they would expose it no matter what it cost them. Newt looked at the list of those abusing the system and said well it would hurt democrats more the republicans so go for it. Newt was on the list with 23 bounced checks by the way other members had in the 900′s but still. But Newt had been using the scam so he must had known about it and since the 7 were going to expose it no matter what he thought he would jump on board.

If Newt had his way there would not have been a house banking/post office scandal.

So no talk radio, no house banking scandal no republican revolution. Oh you wanna say the contract with America, without talk radio who would of talked about it? So Newt cant claim much credit for the revolution, it happened in-spite of him not because of him.

Ahh but here is the problem with that, people treat politics as if it’s a sporting event, they want to just support who they think will win. You can see this in the polls, as soon as someone begins to build momentum everyone begins to join on. You also hear things like I really like so and so but I don’t think they can win, mind you we are speaking about in our primary not the general. So everyone loves so and so but no one will vote for them because no one has voted for them, but if everyone that loved them did vote for them then everyone would vote for him because others had voted for them. When this problem arises (which is illogical to begin with) you have to find a way to push voters from the other candidates as to have more support for the person you support so as to have those that love your candidate be okay supporting them because others do. To do this you point out flaws in the others and you continue to do so until the support goes to your candidate. Once it does then you speak about your own candidates positions and build excitement for them. If you wish to vote for someone who would win vote for Obama.. or is the D next to his name a problem. Oh I see so you could vote for someone with the same ideas and policies with a R next to their name as long as you think they could win. I see your point we should elect Obama R because he has the R by his name. No I would rather Glenn to at least try to point this out even if it causes some to run and hide.

      Posted on February 12, 2012 at 1:11pm

But by running and hiding you point out the obvious flaw in your reasons for supporting either Newt or Mittens. “Newt will win the debates and therefore be able to get voters that would vote for Obama because he will crush Obama” Okay, but logic and reason on why not to vote for Newt does not work on you from people you trust, people I think make better arguments then anyone of those still left in the race. So how is it Newt can first build trust then make a argument that would pull Obama supporters, when someone who already has your trust can not pull voters off Newt.

Mittens, this goes to the R and D argument. What thing different would Mitten do from Obama, Obama care is Romney care and Romney said that we could do the same for everyone in the country “everyone is insured and pays only what he or she can afford.” the rest I guess is covered by government. (Auto bail outs) supported. (Walstreet bailout) supported. (Cap Trade) supported. (forcing Catholics to give free birth control) Romney care caused it. (Egypt) “Mitt Romney calls for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to step down” (Libya) both sides. At the end of Romney’s term, several of his staffers purchased the hard drives from their state-issued computers…. What!!!! Sure sounds like Obama lol.

Yeah but dont point that out, just say you love your candidate and let people go on supporting Obama with a R because he can win, even though no one will support your guy because no one has supported your guy..

Here is my simplest main point with everyone. Do you support a border fence? Would it be nicer then the one the USSR put up in Germany because people crossed it. Will it be better then the one the Israeli’s have because once again people get across that one. Will it surpass the ones in structure and man power that prisons have around them because people escape from prisons. Have you ever thought about any of these questions when you went along with wanting a fence or did you just assume someone else smarter then you had and that was the reason they suggested it. Think about it this way, if someone built a fence to keep Americans out of somewhere could it stop us if we really wanted to cross it. People in prison with limited resources and tight control over their time and actions can figure out ways to escape, are you telling me someone with unlimited resources, time, and no constraints on their actions can’t? Don‘t blindly follow anyone’s ideas, think about everything you support and figure out if it makes sense or not. The people that lead us are not smarter then us, in fact most people that lead us on average have a lower IQ then the general population. Like! Totally! For Real! use your God given intelligence and follow no man without first thinking about what they say, when you realize they are all fools at least pick the one that understands the people in this country are smarter then they are. Or should we pick the moderate Republican who actually has a chance at beating Obama in November. That should be a no-brainer.

The longer these primaries go on without Republicans getting behind Romney, the more time Republicans spend bashing eachother instead of directing our aim at Obama.

If that’s the worst thing they have in their usual “Trash the Conservative ” arsenal, maybe Romney is a good choice for the Republicans. Dealing with the arrogance and disrespectful attitudes of the Dominant Media is one of the hardest battles Republicans have to face. I just don’t think the boys at SNL have the conviction nor the gonades to do what is a no brainer!!

I guess it might be funny to people who never saw the real comedy in SNL’s earlier days. It sure explains why the OWS generation has absolutely no sense of humor.

Whereareyourbrains, if you think real hard you will come to the realization that my list was a Republican list of big time spenders, and big government types, calling themselves conservatives. Obama is a Democrat and is openly, and admittedly, a big spender, big government guy. One is honest, the others are not. That’s my point.

His campaign started 5 years ago, it’s got to peak sometime. No conservative could be elected to statewide office in Massachusetts. All else is fluff, lies, and rationalization.
Guys can not get pregnant. It is what it is. Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney… no diff! Big government, big spending, fakes.

Jerk–Are you enjoying yourself? That‘s the garbage spewed by those who are too gutless to admit you don’t like that Romney’s a Mormon. Just own up to your bigotry and your hateful personality. Been running for 5 years….of all the things you could say…that’s probably the stupidest one. Why don’t you just say Gingrich has been running for 35 years, Paul 26 years, Santorum 20 years….that would be the same thing…..totally wrong…but the same….stupid!

Bolsen00, you bring up the Mormon thing and call me the bigot? Who’s off the deep end? Who’s the real hater?

I don’t care what the religious affiliations of fake conservatives are. I am an anti-liberal bigot… and proud of it. You obviously are not… and your liberal-like, personal, attack proves my point.

Romney announced his run for the Presidency on February 13, 2007. That’s 5 years ago. He’s never stopped.

It’s always a good sign when SNL has a difficult time mocking you. Mitt isn’t easily made fun of, so liberals won’t be so quick to dismiss him the way they immaturely do. Ann Coulter’s right – they always portray the Republican candidate as dumb, but Mitt makes going to make that difficult for them. Santorum, Gingrich and Paul on the other hand . . .

You know I’m not. SNL could destroy Santorum, Gingrich or Paul in a month of skits. They’re drooling all over themselves to have one of those three as the candidate. Not Romney.

They could destroy Romney with one simple acronym as far as I’m concerned. NDAA

It‘s no great blessing that they can’t do it successfully for Romney – they can’t do it successfully PERIOD. This is why Jon Stewart has such a big following. At least he’s funny.
