Riffing on Mitt Romney’s “I like being able to fire people” quote, Saturday Night Live featured the candidate having plenty of fun passing out pink slips…to his breakfast.

Romney, played by Jason Sudeikis, was seated in a diner and trying to show how much of an “everyman” he really is. (”The fact is, the whole family and I love to watch sporting events on television of a weekend, so normal are we“ and ”I’ll tell you this, it sure beats Saturday chores…of course I’m kidding, we have people for that.”)

Acknowledging the dust-up his quote caused on the campaign trail, Romney explained: “It‘s like when you’ve been raking leaves out in the yard and your T-shirt’s a little clammy. You go inside and fire it, replacing it with a dry T-shirt or no T-shirt at all.”

But when the waitress arrived to take his order, Romney really got into his groove.

“Two eggs,” Romney ordered.

“How do you want ‘em?” the waitress asked.

“Laid off,” he said.

And he wasn’t done: “No bacon, let’s throw the bacon out of work…I don‘t care for toast so I’d like to see the toast lose its job, without notice if possible. Can I have an English muffin instead — but can the English muffin be hired on a temporary basis so if I’m not hungry enough to eat it, I don’t have to pay?”

And after asking for some “fresh-strangled orange juice,” Romney was finished ordering breakfast.

      Goes to show you, they have nothing else to make fun of, but they can take anything out of context and turn it into a joke that is an out and out lie. That’s such a stupid program, I quite watching it 20-30 years ago. Back then it was kinda funny, but the re-takes I see are dumb, and intended to hurt any and all conservatives, while they let their liberal buddies get off the hook.

      Except on the Blaze. Have you noticed that most of the stupid liberal crap out in our culture would remain wonderfully annoynomous but for the Blaze keeping them front and center. I quit caring about SNL 20 years ago. Most new movies and TV shows are for ignorant children and don’t get me started on what passes for music these days. Bah Humbug!

      Also, Glenn wears glasses that look just like Rachel Maddow.

      JJSTRYDER, you just said a mouthful. Going to movies is a big bore. Prob. been to 5 movies in past 15 years. I thought admission was still $4 or $5, it’s been that long. Watching the ignorant stuff on TV is a total waste of time. I can take a few of the cuter funny programs, if they don’t get too dirty, but if it wasn’t for FOX news, I’d get rid of my TV. It’s filthy, boring and stupid, mostly the so called comedian types, especially the stupid type women comedians. My TV never turns off during the day, except on Sunday morning news. I honestly tried to watch that stupid 30 something and it is intended for dunces only.

    I take it this is going to be the theme. Romney is creepy and robotic. OK, because Barack Obama isn’t creepy? It isn’t creepy to have no real verifiable past? No ex-girlfriends? No family?

    Obama isn’t robotic? Really? A teleprompter reading tool who speaks like Eddie Murphy doing a white guy impersonation?

    Are we ever going to have someone on our side who can point out all the obvious hypocrisies and laughable inanities of the left? Or are we forever going to allow a second rate comedy show to define us?

      Is that going to your response to every criticism to the republican candidates? Isn’t Obama creepy? Isn’t Obama bad? Honestly, they are not talking about Obama, they are talking about Romney here. Stop trying to redirect to Obama. That is how we end up with crappy candidates. This ‘Anybody but Obama’ mindset is going to screw us over, because it will give us somebody worse than Obama.

    I suspect that SNL will put-off poking fun at Obama till the election is over (to focus on hurting the GOP). Too bad SNL has become such a political tool. They’re days of being funny are long gone, but “somehow” they still manage to get a lot of attention with these “political advertisments”.

    Does anyone remember when SNL was funny? It was a long, long time ago and a lot of you might not have been born yet. At least get someone who sounds like Mitt Romney. I used to love Will Ferrell’s George W. Bush because it sounded like GWB. SNL has sunk so low.

      Is that Mitt Romney’s point? That with the Unions you CAN’T fire anyone, even if they are doing a crap job and are bringing down your company with it.

      Can someone clarify and if that is the case can it be splattered across the scenes how the left like to take snippets and mislead. Basically treating the public like idiots. Maybe someone from the right can do a shot showing the left treating the public with disdain with their lies.

    The tenor and the garbage that are being passed off by the lame stream media is beyond pathetic. These goons probably sit back and laugh at their own so called “jokes”.     Dont you remember the days when SNL had writers who were heterosexual. You know, when thier agenda’s didnt cloud thier remarks and the jokes were for everyone. Most importantly, they were actually funny.
    Listen, these losers have had enough material from the present administration to write jokes for fifty years. They wont do it. Why? Because they want admission to the “Mans Club”. The hangout of thier lifetime.

    I dont care for Romney, I will still hold my nose and vote for him if he wins though…another RINO.

      You go right ahead and vote for party over principle. I for one, will not vote for “ohmamma lite” just for the sake of winning another one for the corrupt, and lost GOP.
      If the GOP doesn’t wake up and realize that Ron Paul represents what they USED to be, then they will lose. If the GOP doesn’t embrace their PALEO-Conservative roots, then they are toast.

      I will NO longer hold my nose to vote for the lesser of two evils. That is STILL evil.
      My conscience will be clear. You either get 4 more years of ohmamma, or you get the lighter version of ohmamma. The establishment doesn’t care WHO gets in, as long as they play ball with the special interests. Ron Paul is not on that list.
      We may not even MAKE it to the election with the way things are shaping up in the Persian Gulf. We could have full blown martial law this year.
      Very disappointed in you BadDoggy. You don’t get it.

      Actually, I am a bit surprised that Baddoggy seems to have a bit of common sense. It is you, Jefferson, that does not get it. Romney will win this next election by a landslide with or without your silly little vote. You need to grow up and understand how things work. If you are holding out to get your way it will be a very long wait. No one gets their way. Romney is better than Obama. Period. That is worth my vote regardless of what I feel about him.

      Vote Paul in the primary, you should. But when Paul loses the primary…which he will…then you need to decide if it is worth your time to vote to get rid of Obama. If not then stay home. There will be more than enough voting for Romney.

    We need to all be more conscientious – watching these online clips still subjects us to NBC’s advertisers, and that earns a stream of money to NBC, a member of the heavily-biased mainstream media.

    I don’t want my eyeballs being sold by NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, or Fox, for money for their coffers to be used to fund Obama’s political race. Even if the networks don’t directly do the funding, you can be sure the families of the employees do fund him. How do you think he raises a billion dollars in his campaign? It is by contributions from these liberal elites in Hollywood and in media, along with Wall Street. We are being raped and abused with our own money.

    Peeing on dead Taliban doesn’t even come close to what they are doing to us while we are still alive.

    SNL just seems to get less and less funny. To the liberals the skit might seem funny but when you know facts and that when he said he liked to fire people, he said fire people who weren’t doing their job. The show only got worse after that. I think they need new writers, liberalism sucks the humor out of people and usually ends up making them angry in life, like what it did to Rosie ODonnell and many others. ,
    They must fear Obama not to make fun of Obama. Can anyone imagine Obama going on that Roast Show? Donald Trump did it, because he has a sense of humor. I don’t think Obama can take any critism, even jokingly.

    I used to enjoy SNL…back when I was like 16 years old. By the time I reached 20 or so it lost its humor. Much like Benny Hill and Monty Python.

    Why do the supposedly adult editors at The Blaze continue to review SNL sketches? Are they actually relevant to others? Legitimate question, do any of you really watch or care what this show does?
