SNL Mocks Fox News: Fox & Friends Hosts Undecided About Whether Bin Laden Is Dead, Mt. Rushmore Is Real

Saturday Night Live kicked off with a parody of Fox News’ “Fox and Friends,” portraying the three co-hosts as a dithering bunch fixated on everything President Barack Obama has done wrong lately.

Fox News Channel seems to be a favorite target of the sketch show; Saturday’s skit featured the faux hosts uttering lines such as, “That’s how you fight the liberal war on Christmas, you keep the tree up ’till May!”

Discussing the first anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s death, the three agreed the White House had handled the occasion horribly.

They said it was ridiculous for the Obama campaign to question whether Mitt Romney would have gone through with the mission that killed the Al-Qaida terror leader: Anyone would have done it.

“I can name person who wouldn’t have launched that raid: Barack Obama!” said Bobby Moynihan’s Brian Kilmeade. When his co-hosts said he couldn’t say that because Obama actually had, he protested, “But it always works!”

Vanessa Bayer’s Gretchen Carlson then elicited groans from the other two when she questioned whether bin Laden was really dead.

“So they say they have pictures,” she said skeptically. “Well you can do a lot with Photoshop! You can make it look like glaciers are melting. I once saw a picture of a mountain with four presidents’ faces on it.”

“I saw that, that’s not real!” Taran Killam as Steve Doocy said, throwing up his hands.

The segment concluded by airing a “few corrections” from the program’s first two hours — where about two dozen notes immediately scrolled across the screen. Among them: “John Wilkes Booth was not wearing a hooded sweatshirt when he shot President Lincoln” and “It is likely that immigrants do not feed on the blood of our cattle at night while we are all sleeping.”

    I watched that last night. I didn’t think it was funny. The audience wasn’t laughing either. The sad part is there are real reasons to parodie Fox & Friends. Lots of great comedy fodder if the SNL writers were interested in laughs and not just trying to be DNC tools.

      The only time I see SNL are in clips touting this or that. I can only say that I am so glad I don’t waste my time staying up late to watch something that has not been gut-busting funny since the days of Chris Farley or Phil Hartman. I miss those days.

      What’s new? It’s not like SNL has any other targets for their sad attempt at comedy. They are on the Nation Barrak Channel would you expect anything different.

      You’re right, Wifezilla. But the point of the left is not satire. It’s to mock and make the right seem clueless. It’s how they get their point accross. It’s how they were taught to fight back. This skit would have been funnier if they had made fun of CNN, CBS, or ABC who have actually been caught lying to make the President and his administration look better. Fox News makes mistakes. But I don‘t believe they’ve ever been doing anything purposefully to help one side or hurt the other.

      NAPS, maybe if you turned on the TV you’d realize just how unrealistic your support for Ron Paul is. You may think telling people you don‘t watch TV makes you look smart but it doesn’t. Listen, Ron Paul has good ideas. Most are unrealistic but no doubt, some are possible and very, very good. But in 30 years, he’s been able to make very little progress. With Paul as the “leader” of the Libertarian party, the party is lost. You need a new leader and I wish Ron Paul hadn’t been so selfish and egotistical to run for President AGAIN. I‘m happy to hear he’ll be retiring after this election. I suggest Libertarians get behind someone with similar ideas but is a better communicator. Perhaps his son Rand?

    So many Blazers say ‘SNL hasn’t been funny for decades.’ The thing is–you guys changed, not SNL. The show has always been a funny weekly parody of modern life and current news, and has almost always taken a liberal, or at least moderate approach.

    It is you guys who changed. You used to watch and enjoy it.

      Well, I’ve changed…sure. Not sure if you thought that to be a positive or negative. During the years I enjoyed SNL I was a broken down alcoholic and addict…which I DO NOT necessarily draw a connection to, it’s just a sad fact from my life…but you brought up “change”. I used to be liberal because I was dependent and irresponsible. Today I am sober 22 yrs, with a desire to serve and help others I identify with, and I am a Constitutional Libertarian leaning Conservative. Again…these are just the facts…draw your own conclusions.

      The last time I turned to SNL was just a few weeks ago HOPING THAT IT HAD CLEANED UP ITS FOUL-MOUTH, OBSCENE SKITS. My hope was lost when I heard the obscenities coming out of the mouth of the guest host. SNL used to be funny. IT IS VULGAR NOW. IT IS OBSCENE. And NO DECENT, RIGHTEOUS PERSON WOULD EVER WATCH IT. So, that only leaves the evil and unrighteous that watch it – remember, WHAT GOES IN, COME OUT ——–EVENTUALLY. It the law of nature, just like when you hang around EVIL PEOPLE, YOU BECOME EVIL, just like your beloved President.       No you’re wrong SNL changed, I still have the same sense of humor I’ve always had. SNL was center/ left but now they are far left and POLITICALLY CORRECT……Do you think ofr a second they would do the buckwheat has be shot scetches today…..yeah right.

    First, I do find some SNL stuff very funny. This skit, however; has never been funny. The writing is atrocious and it falls flat. I was glad to see the old tv news guys, Herb Welch (Bill Hader) on last night. Not as funny as the ones in the past, but he’s a funny character. Manning was a snore bore. Dude, stick to football.

    Note that the already ample comedian playing Gretchen Carlson had padded her bra in the skit to make the point that FOX NEWS babes are usually as busty as they are smart. I’m not sure, though, if that‘s a compliment or a dig at FOX’s many female anchors.

      Your talking points suck. The Keystone pipeline, by Canadian estimates, would employ only five or six thousand people, mostly short-term construction jobs. Then almost all of the oil shipped through the pipeline was destined for overseas sales. How does that help the economy? It does nothing at all! As for the price of gasoline, it’s based on the world market price. For 2011 the United States was a net EXPORTER of petroleum products. It’s a global economy…live with it!!!

    SNL can name-call anyone, it takes a special hurt to get hit by these clowns, so the F&F crew are doing something right. After all UBL’s favorite network needs to be noticed.

    I watched the segment. SNL would be funny if it wasn’t ALWAYS so biased against conservatives. In fact, their tired mockery of Republicans (as being morons and boobs) makes THEM look stupid. Not once have they gone after their OWN kind in the past decade. My namesake, Nancy Pelosi, and the pathological liar, Wasserman Shultz are invisible with impunity in SNL skits.

      …it’s amazing how much material they have with Democrats that could be hilarious, but they pass on all of it because of their political bias. Instead they continue to rehash the same tired jokes about conservatives we’ve heard for 40 years – their grandparents were telling the same jokes.

    SNL hasn’t been funny for decades. Just a bunch of liberal useful idiots. Why don’t they make fun of the ABC segment on “open” swinging marriages that are homosexual, lesbian and bi sexual in nature and the messed up kids they have? Oh that’s right, because it would be just like making fun of hollywood and their marriages and their messed up kids.

    Just the usual from the 24/7 Obama Media . From show trials to comedy to campaign rallies to fund raisers. 24/7 Obama. Truth of the matter is, the Obama Administration should be in New York City on SNL rather than in Washington in the White House. America would be much safer and the laughs , especially from Biden, much more humorous.

      I like to watch “The Morning Blow Show” on MSNBC sometimes to keep tabs on the enemy. They liken themselves with their back slapping commercials and parodies to SNL somewhat. The leftist media is just one big comedy for Obama. It’s truly a shame that folks can be this dense. But that’s the vote they count on. It starts in Kindergarten with the school systems and damn near every bit of what’s on TV, including the leftist MSM.

    I initially had thought that bin laden was captured or that he died years ago. Upon reflection, it seems the US put him in a ‘safe place’ in exchange for his silence. Then, last year, US needed a political boost (obama) or they felt that bin laden might start making public appearance. Remember, bin laden was a trained CIA asset created and funded to fight the soviets in afganistan… Dead men tell no tales
