So How Did it End for the Chicago Protesters Who Dumped Trash at a Bank?

“Occupy Chicago” and similar groups have been materializing in the Windy City. Protesters have been calling for an end to corporate greed and money in politics, demanding their right to have a job, calling for higher pay for teachers while bemoaning a broken education system, protesting Congress (the one in Washington), fulfilling a self-proclaimed “religious imperative,” and other protesters are seemingly just celebrating their right to zone out in a drum-banging, trancelike march:
On Monday, thousands in the “Stand Up Chicago” movement, inspired by but not officially affiliated with Occupy Wall Street, marched in downtown Chicago tying up rush-hour traffic for hours, according to the Chicago Tribune. NBC Chicago reports that “Occupy Chicago” joined community groups and local unions to target financial events throughout the city Tuesday, including a conference of the Mortgage Bankers Association. Sixteen of the twenty-one protesters arrested by Chicago Police Tuesday were apprehended at the conference according to the Chicago Tribune.
Five other women aged 55 to 80 from the “Action Now” group were also arrested Tuesday, after they took garbage from a foreclosed home owned by Bank of America and dumped it in one of the bank’s branches:
The arrested women were part of 100 protesting outside the Bank of America branch with garbage, the group explained: “Since Bank of America will not go to our neighborhoods and clean up their vacant properties, Action Now members brought the neighborhood to them.”
Police said that both groups of those arrested at the Bank of America branch and at the conference, were facing charges of misdemeanor trespassing.
NBC News spoke with some of the protesters at a “Take Back Chicago,” event Tuesday, who were taking “Action Against Banks Forcing Renters Out of Their Homes!”:
Occupy Chicago “sit-ins” began September 23 with a march from Willis Tower to the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank.

Bank of America is not a very good representative of true capitalism, as they sure bought into the “welfare state” fast enough while they were lining their pockets with {our} cash because they were among those annointed by Obama as people who supported his election . . . er, I mean who were “too big to fail”.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 10:49pmWow – did you know … the CONGRESS passed laws, can you imagine, that FORCED the banks to give mortgage loans (starting in 1994) to individuals that couldn’t pay the money back. The congress was actually DEMANDING banks to provide loans to indigents – even people on welfare could get a home loan! Imagine that – no job, but people could get loans for houses because they “lived” in a certain area. This is what caused the bank (TARP) trouble. Sounds like the government is trying to cover up it’s error – and these people are blaming the wrong people! It was called The Community Reinvestment Act.

What is needed is to sum up the total number of protesters & relate that to the total number citizens
# protesters / # of U.S. citizens. x%
These people were always working against us.
- In how they answered opinion polls
- In who they voted for
- In who the donated money too.
They are just more vocal now & maybe somewhat more organized.
We need to be more vocal, better organized & vote.
We also need to talk to some of them. We cannot persuade them all but if we persuade 10% it would start having a good effect for us & a deleterious one for the left.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 10:17pmOne guy said he was paying too much for education. Well, I would agree with that. However, what has that got to do with Wall Street? Why not protest in front of the Universities who are charging huge amounts for your education? These people are targeting the wrong people. How about also targeting the Obama administration for not providing an atmosphere whereby people will go out and create jobs and protest in front of the White House where the occupant has crowned himself King?
And if there are CEOs who need to be prosecuted, like the CEOs of Fannie and Freddie, how about protesting outside their homes?
Some of these people have legitimate beefs but they are protesting the wrong people.
Get a clue guys and start targeting the right people. Those responsible for the mess America is in. Not those who are succeeding and creating the jobs!
It seems to me that these people do not understand that this Obama administration is to blame for not putting the right CEOs on the chopping block. They actually bailed them out! People like the CEOs for Fannie and Freddie went scot free!
And if you’re going to target the billionaires, what about Al Gore and George Soros and Bill Clinton and all the rest of the thugs that have gotten rich off exploiting others? I suppose you don’t see them as the parasites.
They are the 99%? They are the loud 3% maybe. The rest of us are doing the hard work. Get out and create a job for goodness sake. And quit your whining.

I hope his parents didn’t waste their money on his schooling. It seems he has no appreciation for living in a country where education is possible, and that opportunity isn’t high on his priority list. Ummm, I think that at the time of registering he had to sign the papers agreeing to the terms of the loan. Last time I checked there were no goons at the universities holding guns to students heads forcing them to sign. Wonder how he feels about his portion of debt that he is responsible for thanks to Obama. And he is protesting Wall St instead of the White House? He needs to get rid of his laptop, cell phone, ipad, blackberry and all the other technology that he can’t live without .
