So What Are Beck & Palin Really Planning for 9/11 Event in Alaska?

So What Are Beck & Palin Really Planning for 9/11 Event in Alaska? There has been a flurry of speculation over an event in Anchorage this Saturday. The date of course is important — 9/11. But it’s the dual appearance of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin that has led to all kinds of questions. The most common have to do with politics. Will Palin announce a presidential bid? Will Beck? Is this a new dream ticket? Would this be the worst ticket ever? Will they sing?

I’ve posed some of these questions to Glenn Beck and I did receive a response of sorts. More on that in a moment.

The Week has pulled together their five favorite theories. They acknowledge what Glenn said on the radio: “I’m gonna give a speech up there, and Sarah’s gonna give a speech, too, but that’s it.”  But then add:

Beck’s coyness, along with Palin’s silence and the provocative date, have only amped up the speculation about this “mysterious” event.

Number five on their list is the conclusion of Salon writer Alex Pareene:

Either Sarah Palin is running for president, or she and Glenn Beck are just embarking on another of the money-making schemes that they are both deeply devoted to. Almost certainly the latter.

Almost certainly. Roger Ebert, though, is focusing much more on what he thinks the message will be:

Beck and Palin speak about “taking back America.” The buried message is that they will take it back from Muslims. This is a heartless misuse of the tragedy of 9/11 and its victims.

This is a lot to process.  And I have a new theory. It won’t be so much of a joint appearance as Beck and Palin passing briefly like ships.  I concocted this theory to justify the posting of a leftover picture I have from 8/28.

So What Are Beck & Palin Really Planning for 9/11 Event in Alaska?

Or is that a sign that someone else may be joining Dancing With the Stars?

I am interested in the venue however. The Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center. Who are the Dena’ina? According to Wikipedia:

The Dena’ina (also Tanaina) are an Alaska Native people, an extended tribe of American Indian lineage.

Glenn has talked about Native Americans on TV recently. Some saw theological import in that.  And the 8/28 event paid tribute to Native Americans.  Beck and Palin were both there.  As they will be at the Dena’ina Center on Saturday. Coincidence?

My investigation, though, reveals trouble.  Note this from the Dena’ina Center website:

So What Are Beck & Palin Really Planning for 9/11 Event in Alaska?

So far so good. But then you see this:

So What Are Beck & Palin Really Planning for 9/11 Event in Alaska?

See the problem? First I think we’ll all agree that this event likely fits the categories of Talks & Lectures in the first image.  But in the second image we the listing of “comedians” & “personalities.” I realize some may disagree with with any notion that Glenn could ever be intentionally amusing.  But personally, I think he fits in BOTH categories  And look if you buy the pricey seats up front the tears make it kind of like going to see Gallagher. However, the actual problem is in the very last line. “Nearly 200 stations nationwide.” Uh oh. Either Glenn recently lost half his affiliates, or someone in Alaska didn’t get the news:

With the addition of Los Angeles’ KRLA-AM on July 6th, Fox News host Glenn Beck‘s radio show will now be carried by 400 affiliates nationwide. When the program launched in 2002, it was carried on just 47 stations.

Got it people? That’s 400. But Glenn is used to being undercounted (hello CBS News!).

Many of the “mainstream” media outlets have missed what is happening on 9/10 at the Dena’ina.  The appearance of actual comedian Carlos Mencia.

So What Are Beck & Palin Really Planning for 9/11 Event in Alaska?

Coincidence? Is there a chance that the Mind of Mencia may meld with the Tears of a Clown? Please let there be a chance.

I will also tell you that I was curious about one other listing:

So What Are Beck & Palin Really Planning for 9/11 Event in Alaska?

What is this production of Souvenir all about?  Only this:

A heartfelt, wickedly funny look at self-perception and friendship.

Then it hit me — that is probably the exact message Beck/Palin (it’s the Cold/Fresh tour — get it? Alaska — cold?) will bring on Saturday night!

Still — wickedly funny might not be the perfect vibe for 9/11.  There has to be something more. Right?

I did decide to pose a few questions to Glenn Beck via late night e-mail. I hold some sway. I am the Managing Editor.  Surely, I’d get straight answers. Glenn responded that the event is “a speech that I agreed to give.”  And he said Sarah Palin would speak too. Great. I got the same answer that he gave on the radio. But then he added that his talk will mention 9/11, but that 9/11 will not be the focus. He said he intends to “go farther.”

Go farther? What does that mean? I guess wickedly funny is out of the question.

You “Palin for President” people need to come to grips. She is not going to run. If she did, it would guarantee another win for Obama, and she surely knows that. Glenn Beck would never run for pres. or veep. He’s right where we need him. Maybe there will be some surprise announcement (I hope it’s something like “Levi Johnston has been sentenced to 20 years as the Palin’s butler”) but it’s probably going to be a patriotic memorial, and even a reprisal of the 8/28 theme. And Beck probably will take a few days off. God knows he deserves it. What better place to relax that Alaska?

I agree. I highly doubt that Beck would actually run for President; if memory serves me, I believe he has even told us, more than once, that he wouldn’t want to be President.
However, if Palin were to announce her candidancy, I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest. Regardless of whether you think she should run or not, I wouldn’t be surprised.

I regret to tell you that Huckabee Gingrich ALSO have zero chance of winning in 2012. I don’t think we know who will at this point, (they must be conservative in order to save this Union), but I agree with many who have posted here that they won’t have a chance without a Palin/Beck endorsement.

Sorry to say I don’t think Sarah is electable. If I read something she has written or a transcript of something she has said it comes off well; but many people are turned off by her at times overbearing enthusiasm. I like the way she thinks and many of her ideas but she’s wound up like a ten day clock and that turns a lot of people off. If I had to choose a potential female POTUS I’d be looking more in the direction of some like Michele Bachmann.

I laugh when I hear people fret that if Palin is running for president she’s doing all the wrong things to prepare for it, to which I reply, “Well, duh! She’s obviously not running for president.” All the liberal lamestream media want her to run because she would become an even bigger target for them to hyperventilate over. Sarah Palin is too smart for that. Both she and Beck enjoy their roles as cheerleaders for the conservative movement that aims to return America to the values of the founders; it’s what they do best. Getting into politics would dilute that influence and fragment their attention. Besides, Beck’s too ADD to campaign.

Beck and Palin are both mavericks in a way John McCain has never been, and in a way the Washington political establishment can never understand, but it’s an attitude that resonates with the heart of decent America, real people who live within their means and vote and join the PTA and clean up after themselves. Beck/Palin will never do anything to derail that cause.

Beck, as one of the first commentators to interview Palin when she came on the national scene, even before McCain tapped her for his running mate, recognized her common sense and down-home conservative values. He didn‘t dismiss her as inconsequential because she hadn’t gone to an Ivy League school like the snobby lamestreamers did. It makes sense that at some point Beck/Palin might pool those resources and emerge as kingmakers. If we’ve learned anything at all about Glenn Beck, it’s to never be surprised.

Voters were sucked into the corrupt world of Barak Obama, the cardboard cutout candidate, because the media failed to do their job – act as the gadflies necessary in the American political system to hold politicians’ feet to the fire and keep them honest. Obama’s messiah complex and rhetorical hyperbole both exceeded his administrative talents and his ability to deliver on all those idealistic (i.e. empty) promises. Since the lamestream media sees the world through the sludge of politically correct talking points, they’re never going to change. They became experts at putting lipstick on a pig. Beck sees that as a root cause for the collapse of America. It’s possible that The Blaze has something to do with Beck is up to; maybe we’re going to see a new generation of journalists who have a moral compass, people who will notice when the emperor is naked and not fail to mention it to the voters.

As Glenn always says, it isn’t about right or left; it’s about right and wrong. May it always be thus.

I agree. I think a “Restoring Honor” message taken on the road will prepare the way for a new and better type of politics and perhaps a restoration of true journalism. This would have a greater impact than running themselves and getting beat up by the media. The media is still scratching their heads over what took place on 8-28. If Beck-Palin clear the path and get eyes opened, hearts refocussed on what is good in America via the best and brightest ideas of the founders and patriots I think we could see a new and wiser American electorate. What took place on on 8-28 transcended political and denominational doctrine differences. That is a very good thing.

He was a tough veteren and POW but not a very tough candidate. I think Palin is in the perfect role now to help the conservatives raise money and get some changes made in Washington. Beck is also where he should be, although my husband thinks he should run.

Palin was & still is the only candidate among the final 4 ( PinochioBama/Biden, McCain/Palin) to be POTUS! She is even more qualified now. PinochioBama & Biden less qualified than they were before they were found out as imposters. McCain has work ( 6 years worth) to do in Arizona. JFK & Obama were the only two sitting Senators to be elected POTUS in the last 70+ years. because, Senators are uniquely unqualified to be Potus. PinochioBama the Community Organiser is even less qualified than JFK, and that isn’t an easy distinction to achieve.

Palin needs a Newbie like Chris Christie to be her VP running mate. Christie can be POTUS for 8 years after Palin is POTUS for 8 years. 16 years should be enough time to complete the taks facing them. And lead America to it’s greatest achievements as a Nation.

He has lots of good ideas and many people, my self included love him, but he has so many skeleton’s in his closet, every time the door is opened a bone drops out! Ok, ok, I am just kidding! Still, I don’t think he would be able to put his family through that. They have been through enough from the sacrifices he has already made. The Palins are more used to it, but it is not easy for them either. Everyone knows that Sarah is the most feared conservative the lefties know at this point, so keep an eye on her!

Maybe it is nice to know that they have actually earned their wealth instead of simply inheriting it. Isn’t coming from nothing and achieving greatness part of what makes America what it is? You can attain a goal by working hard. Nothing was given to them. Can you imagine another Presidentila candidate who went to a community college and is not some Ivy League diletante in recent decades? Who has been an actual mom with kids with all their warts? I love it if that is the case. I do think that Glenn is real deal. He is who he says and, even more, what he does.

Learn to take the man at his word. You want to know his motives just listen to the man and stop trying to get some secret meaning out of it. Yes he will speak, and he may mention 9/11 seeing that it is an anniversary of the attack. Go Farther most likely means that something is planned to help the event be more memorable. It’s not like they are going to burn a Koran or anything. They will do something to uplift the audience and inspire them. Whatever happens i’m sure some liberal with his pulse pounding in anticipation will be there to twist his words to what ever meaning that fits their youtube journalistic needs.

I think because of experience Sarah needs to be in the top spot if this is the plan. It might give Glenn as much as 8 years to learn more about the inner working of the executive office.

They would get my vote because our founders envisioned more common people in all Federal offices rather than career politicians.

A Beck/Palin ticket would be amazing!!! As far as expecting a LOT of garbage to come out….THAT’s nothing new for the enemies if freedom/the Left!!! Glenn & Sarah have already been taken apart a zillion different ways over the past few years—they came out JUST FINE!!! Lies/Darkness can NEVER win, can NEVER even comprehend the Truth/Light. God be with them both…..I doubt this will be the announcement or content of their speeches, though. Just WAY too early. But this certainly IS the founding fathers’ idea …“regular” people representing the citizens. Not that Glenn or Sarah are “regular”—They’re both accomplished, hard-working, ethical, generous, God-fearing Americans!! Oh–that this actually WAS more “regular”. Hey–perhaps the fact that the speeches are on 9/11…we should consider that this may be a call to prayer &worship. Glenn and Sarah would not dtract fromthe solemnity of that day with any political announcement.

      Posted on September 7, 2010 at 11:16am

. . . not just for Joushua. Here’s why “Dinglberry” is in a bind over this:

These speculations of Palin and Beck are far too early. But despite that, one thing can be certain; the synergies of Palin-Beck are a template of what America needs, of what the Republican Party needs to win. But that’s if the party decides what they really want to do is to win.

If it’s left to the old boys club of the GOP, second place has historically been their default position. Second place is not losing to them; it’s rather a career comfort zone, where as long as they’re still in the game so to speak they’re still viable, even if it is only in their own minds. We should recognize and keep close to the knowledge that these same Republicans hid behind Reagan; they disagreed with him, and still do in many ways, especially in how to engage the American people. But for eight years of the Reagan presidency, non-Reagan Republicans basked in the spoils of his leadership, as they still do; we call them RINOS.

After those eight years of Reagan came to a close, Republicans were left without a leader. What was remaining in leadership faltered in its pursuits of a strategy to combat America’s blind thirst for progressive thought and movements presented by slicked over branding that the Clinton generation re-introduced from the sixties and seventies, “it takes a village” and the infamous “Hillarycare” and most importantly, the feigning notion that, “it’s for the children.”

And then, what’s most interesting about this all is what liberals did while Reagan was president. Let’s be honest and not forget that it wasn’t that hard for Bush Sr. to make his case to be elected. He was riding the wave of Reagan’s credibility. And in that is a bit of a turning point for liberals. It’s during this period of time we should focus on for a moment to understand what’s happening right now with Palin and Beck, to keep it all in perspective.

In those losing years, liberals have learned very well what it takes to win. And note that we’re speaking of liberalism, not just Clintons. What the Clintons represented was a broad movement of liberalism that understood the culture of America was by a majority and in many ways a silent majority, anti-liberal, anti-socialists and anti-big government. But that wasn’t going to stop them; it couldn’t. Let’s remember the themes of the sixties and seventies were all about transforming America.

What the hippie group realized, what they evolved into during the Reagan/Bush era, was an understanding that their reality was simple: They couldn’t win elections because culturally America rejected them on principle as much as they had been widely rejected as poorly organized hippie groups on college campuses back in the sixties and seventies. After Jimmy Carter failed, they saw their only hope of being elected again was to change the culture of America; it was the only way. They had to change the way America thought. They had to get into the public’s mind in lasting and significant ways. As a result, there was and still is a far too strong of an attraction to the education system by liberals and liberal leaning individuals because it’s the foundation of their recent and future successes, culturally . . . politically.

This observable fact explains many things about our political culture today, of how and why Obama was able to win by presenting a platter of generalities and abstractions of values and attitudes, primarily those that were easily accepted by our conditioned youth, our brainwashed history illiterate youth that now provide the engine for the liberal movement as they have grown and have become educated in media, public relations, marketing and public relations style journalisms. Collectively, they’re better known as the Democratic Party, but because they are so very collective and very effective in their actions, their ideology permeates populations by way of the cultural conditioning that they have been engaged in for fifty years.

Beck and Palin understand the game liberals are playing seeing the pieces and how they have been set up across the board. And unlike the complacent old boys club of the GOP, they understand that political second place is not a comfortable consolation prize but is rather an earthly state of socio-political purgatory for the rest of us to live in. For this, Liberals do not like that any “Palin” or any “Beck” exists. Even the idea of it is of great threat to the longevity of their plans, of their reforming process that we’re not supposed to know of, of what they’re doing. Silence after all was the great premise behind their strategy of injecting a society with political correctness; let’s not forget that.

With that said, falling in love with the idea of “Palin” and “Beck” may be sound, but let’s also keep the perspective of what we’re fighting against, long term, including how these two best serve the purposes of being elected, as in electability. Most important to that, at this point in time, is to recognize that Palin and Beck are paving a way, of getting back inside the heads of America, of educating, of re-educating by establishing a conversation with America that makes sense, is truthful, and is well intentioned toward the preservation of our Constitution. In that lies the essence of their joining in Alaska . . . they’re showing the way, of dismantling liberalism.

These are the things that keep liberal strategist awake late into the night these days and makes them irritable and disgusted at the sound of Becks voice or the mention of Palin’s name . . . I would imagine it’s what ails Dingleberry . . . or whatever his or her image is today.

Even if the Pesident, the Senate, and the House were all republicans there are wolves in sheeps clothing in the mix and they would some how tie their hands behind their back and put tape over their mouths. There are so many progressive republicans it’s sad to think that you cannot trust even your own party. We just need to pray for common sense republicans and smaller givernment so there are not so many to keep track of. Right now trying to keep track of who’s on first is a full time job.

Humility is tough to grab. How about admitting that what they have been doing is wrong and are willing to do it another way, work together with some new ideas and new faces.
