So Where Was Pelosi During Obama’s Afghanistan Address? At a U2 Concert

So Where Was Pelosi During Obamas Afghanistan Address? At a U2 ConcertOn Wednesday night, President Obama delivered a highly-publicized speech to the American public about the future of U.S. military involvement in Afghanistan. While the commander-in-chief addressed the nation, another prominent politician skipped out of town to attend…a U2 concert.

While more than 25 million Americans tuned in to watch Obama’s remarks, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wasn’t one of them. According to FOX News Insider:

…House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi was at a U2 concert in Baltimore. Pelosi and actor Matt Damon were among the fans in attendance at M & T Bank Stadium.

The former House Speaker didn’t waste any time, though, commenting about the president’s announcement that 10,000 American troops will come home by the end of this year, with a total of 33,000 exiting the war-torn nation by next summer. FOXNews.com has more:

Although Pelosi’s office issued a statement after Obama’s speech calling for a more substantial drawdown, Pelosi reportedly was watching the famed Irish band sing “Beautiful Day” and perform a musical tribute to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head

After recovering from her U2 escapades, Pelosi spoke to reporters yesterday:

While it is certainly no surprise that Pelosi and left-leaning U2 frontman Bono are friends (back in 2006, the Washingtonian reported that Pelosi held a special lunch for the rocker), the notion that such a prominent political leader would skip out on a major policy speech in order to attend a rock concert is strikingly odd.

Priorities, priorities.

Hey if I didn‘t have direct tv I would have gone somewhere so I didn’t have to listen to that bloviated blowhard blow sunshine up my arse either. I only have two questions: How much did Nancy cost us tax payers to do this concert?, and 2. Did we have to pay for freaking lousy Matt Damon as well?

Complete and utter contempt and dereliction of duty. Had Boehner or Denny Hastert done something along these lines, there’d be cries for removal from office, burning them at the stake, etc….. However, again, the harlot press is silent on this, while serving their master’s needs.

and of course, San Franfreakshow will keep this hag in power, til she’s dead.

That’s okay Abby, everybody is entitled to one mistake (or, if you are a Democrat, as many as you want.) I thought at first you might be Pelosi in disguise, but realized I was wrong about that. (Being conservative, I know how to admit my mistakes. I still cringe everytime I think about how I voted for Carter.) As far as Obama being wrong, well that‘s just a fact of life we’ll have to endure until 1/20/2013 when he leaves the White House for good.

Don’t care. This intellectual lightweight has been does not matter. If all it takes is this version of the “bread and circus” to distract the likes of Damon and Pelosi, I say more U2 is needed.
Pelosi wants to steal some of Gifford’s thunder or support her, that’s on her. Once again, I don’t care and marvel at the people who do. This is what I‘d think you’d want this goof doing: Staying out of the way while the adults have a discussion.

    Clever Catholic Priest
One Saturday afternoon, in Washington , D.C., an aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited the Bishop at the Catholic cathedral in D.C. He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day’s Mass, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint. The Cardinal replied, “No. I don’t really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of Pelosi’s views.”

Pelosi’s aide then said, “Look, I’ll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to your church if you’ll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint.”

The Cardinal thought about it and said, “Well, the church can use the money, so I‘ll work your request into tomorrow’s sermon.”

As Pelosi’s aide promised, House Speaker Pelosi appeared for the Sunday worship and seated herself prominently at the forward left side of the center aisle.

As promised, at the start of his sermon, the Cardinal pointed out that Speaker Pelosi was present. The Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, “While Speaker Pelosi’s presence is probably an honor to some, the woman is not numbered among my personal favorite personages. Some of her most egregious views are contrary to tenets of the Church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other issues. Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thum

Bono and Pelosi are Catholics who are trying to get one world support for their “peace and love” pope initiatives.
