So Who Really Supports the Food Safety Bill?

As many of you may know, the proposed Food Modernization Act (Senate Bill 510) has been a frequently discussed topic on Glenn Beck’s radio program.
As the bill’s final vote draws near, Glenn has cited a recent report from the Christian Science Monitor which named some of the bill’s major supporters and detractors.
Supporters include General Mills, Kraft Foods, Monsanto, and the National Association of Manufacturers. Opponents include the American Grassfed Association, Family Farm Defenders, and the Small Farms Conservancy. The Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, which represents smaller farmers, has backed the bill.
Monsanto, an innovative St. Louis-based agricultural company has ties to liberal billionaire George “spooky dude” Soros, a fact Glenn does not easily overlook:
But on Wednesday, Monsanto insisted it is not a supporter of the food bill:
Reports, including those by political commentator Glenn Beck, that Monsanto is behind Senate Bill 510, the so-called Food Safety Bill, are not true. As an agricultural company, we have been monitoring the bill for any impact on our ability to serve farmers who choose to buy our products. We have not supported its passage.
When asked for further comment, Monsanto declined to speculate what might have led the Christian Science Monitor to believe the company supported the bill, but reiterated that it does not.

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 8:52pmThis food bill is bad enough, the next one might even be worse. The Clean Water Restoration Act S.787 would give the federal government jurisdiction over water in, on and under the US. This bill would empower the federal gov to stop any person from doing anything, anywhere that water may be. These two bills would effectively control all the people who live outside cities.

Posted on December 5, 2010 at 12:43amYou are exactly right. These two together will ensure mass starvation in the middle of the country. And they will control the water just like they will control the internet. If congress won’t pass the bill, George Soros will force Obama to use executive orders. THEY JUST SOLD TWO URANIUM MINES IN GILLETTE WYOMING TO RUSSIA. “they” being our beloved federal gov. of course.

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 6:45pmAs well as food storage, your “survival” kit needs to contain seed packets. make sure they’re non-hybrid, that way, when you harvest the fruits next year, you can save seeds for the following year and still produce a crop.

That is what happens to everything in D.C.. What is supposed to have good intentions for us gets basterized by all the crooks. This is whether they be in congress or business. Posted on December 5, 2010 at 12:35amAll the seeds in the world won’t be enough without water and the feds are planing to control all water with this sb787 or the clean water something. A nice Orwellian name? And if Congress doesn’t pass the bill well, that is what executive orders are for. And they can see what you are doing, and what you are growing as the FDA apparently has google type section maps of the entire country. If you want to see if people are using water in violation of federal law, a flyover compared to an older shot would show lots of green.

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 11:07amI encourage these progressive to f—- with the farmers. Go ahead and try it…. When they tried it in Germany the farmers drove their giant tractors into the city during rush hour and clogged up traffic. I wouldn’t want to piss off the people that literally are feeding you. And also, if they are soooo damn worried about food safety they are going about it the wrong way. By making food prices sky rocket they will cause massive amounts of people who have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING, to start raising and processing their own food, and that will bring on many more accounts of food poisoning and deaths. Ever read what happens when you try and home-can low acid foods the wrong way? Botulism.

Personaly I have a pressure canner, so I can can meats and vegetables with low acid, I have a water bath canner for high acid foods.like tomatoes. My advice is that if people want to start learning how to grow, raise, and preserve their own foods, do some research and get a few books.

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 10:59amMonsato has been selling their seeds to farmers and then making the farmers account for every seed and if Monsanto thinks FOR ANY REASON that there are any seeds missing they sue the farmer for copy right infringement. Then of course, the farmer has to plead guilty even if he is not because he cannot afford to take on Monsanto in court. Dirty enough for you?

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 2:10pmWhy all the love for Monsanto? Do you deny that their seeds terminate after the growing season? Or that the terminator seeds are the reason for the seedbanks in the permafrost zone? Can the roundup seeds kill the bees? Can the GMO plants cross pollinate with rnon GMO and turn them into a terminator? Why won’t the farm animals eat them? Can you ask yourself questions and honestly answer them or are you another drone…who continues to defend the indefensible? Progressives believe the ends justify the means…the ends being the mass culling of the worlds population…isn’t the CONTROL of the food supply necessary to achieve that? (Georgia Guidestones) They also believe truth is relative, so basically, all progressives are evil liars. Monsanto is a progressive company. So they are evil liars. But, you can choose to keep your head in the sand if you want to and EAT all the GMO food you’d like, I hear it causes reproductive problems, cancer, etc…and I would really appreciate it if the PROGS would practice what they preach and limit their family size, which would limit their #s for our future generations. Posted on December 3, 2010 at 9:58amMonsanto sets up dummy companies and then sells them their liability laden products. If they get too many expensive law suits the new company simply goes bankrupt. Parent company Monsanto protected. What better way to hide than introduce a GMO product through a dummy. If it is ok they buy their own company(book transaction) if somethiing goes wrong the new company goes out of business with no loss/liability to the parent company. Ask any soy bean farmer about some of the tricks Monsanto pulls to claim ownership of seed.and crops even if youi never used their GMO seeds.

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 10:23ami think they are evil because they intentionally “hook” populations on their product, but retain absolute control over the supply. in this case by sterilizing the seeds, creating dependance. African nations see this because that continent is a showcase of that sort of business model. leaves them easily manipulated politically when they lose the ability to produce vital crops.

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 9:40amUnder this food bill they can tax your garden. Under this bill the records keeping, soil testing, etc… will bankrupt you if you intend to sell or even give away what you grow. It gives them the power to pass any home garden regulations they want. Home gardens take billions from agri biz. They want them stopped. Why should you be able to grow healthy food if they can force you to buy their artifical food?

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 8:05amEvil is what Evil does!!! The plan by the Progressives is to create large conglomerate farms which are unionized and to drive the small farmer out of business. End result is no different from what the Soviets did in the old Soviet Union. They used food as a political weapon. In this case, vote democrat or starve. If an area failed to vote for the “proper candidate”, somehow food would just never get to the stores in that area. There is no longer a democrat party in Amerika it has been hijacked by the “evil” progressives.

Posted on December 3, 2010 at 9:33amMonsanto is also developing single crop seeds so you must buy seed from them every year. It will also cross polinate with existing seed and make them single year seed also. They are buying up all the small seed companies and adding GMO simply so they can patent seed that had been public domain for thousands of years. Monsanto is also accused of going through Mexico and scattering GMO corn to cross polinate into 4000 year old strains so they can claim all corn as their property. Ask any one awho has grown GMO corn. It has horrible mutations in the ears. I wonder if this might transfer to animals and humans. When introducing wanted genes they have no idea what elsee they are transfering. Remember the killer corn(Starling?) they developed that was suppose to never get to humans yet it did. What happens when they produce a virus that is a killer to humans. Or have they already?
oldoldtimer
Posted on December 3, 2010 at 9:47amAsk any GMO soy bean farmer. The Round up ready gene is now being “assimilated into the weeds and grasses” so it is taking 3 times as much herbacide to get rid of the weeds and at much higher concentrations. Single crop seeds will do the same thing. How long before we start losing all plants that propagate from seed. This stuff could kill off most of the vegetaytin on Earth. And fools worry about warming. I worry about Monsanto and the monsters they create for profit. Once introduced these seeds can never truely be removed. Even the killer corn is still out there.

Potentially VERY bad consequences for us. Monsanto is THE dominant power in all agriculture – seeds – and livestock. It is an EVIL entity.
