Beck Says Chavez Not Happy About Planned Stop in Venezuela

On radio Thursday, Glenn Beck told his audience that while on his way to South Africa, there was a curious incident that occurred during a planned stopover in Egypt.* But what we didn’t know yesterday is why. Now we do: it’s partly because of Hugo Chavez.

Beck told the Chavez-related story on his show Friday, and said that Chavez raised questions about Beck’s planned stop in Venezuela, and those questions were relayed to Beck during his stop in Egypt.

“I am informed by [my chief of staff] Joe that Hugo Chavez wanted a detailed itinerary of what I was planning on doing in Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela, and Hugo didn’t like it, and he would not allow my plane to land in Venezuela,” he explained.

Beck is planning on visiting South America as part of a special leg of a global human rights campaign.

Despite the push back from Chavez, however, Beck may have gotten the last laugh. According to him, he has “found a way” to still get his message across in the dictator’s country: via technology.*

“Hugo believes that he is going to stop people like me from speaking out and speaking their mind,” Beck said.

Listen to beck tell the story below:

*We‘ve updated the story after getting some more details from Beck’s camp about the stop and the incident.

They have sown their field and as Shakespeare said “When sorrows come, they come not single spies,But in battalions.”. They won’t awake, just leave them to their own self-inflicted misery Glenn.

You need to read more international news sources. The same people who voted him in are the same people who are seeing the errors of their choice. The same thing is happening in the US. Beck is just helping to move their change schedule up a bit with courage.

If Glenn really wanted to stand up to evil, he’d be visiting one of the African countries that are experiencing genocide TODAY rather than South Africa or a South American Banana Republic like Venezuela. Sadly, I don‘t even think it’s a lack of courage on Glenn’s part, I suspect it’s because there is no media coverage to be had in Darfur, for example. At the end of the day, these are GBTV publicity tours. Nothing more.

Thankfully the Darfur region is now its own sovereign nation! I dont like Glenn going to Africa at all; the living conditions on that continent are way worse and way more dangerous than anywhere in Israel. I dont think they will take it very well when he goes down there and starts telling starving people that Israel is in danger and they should stand with them… I think its time that America starts to stand with Africa… (I know Africa is not a country)

Exactly. Beck talks about the truth having no agenda, so why does he seem to? Beck purported to show the world what’s really going on in Israel, to show the real ground situation, to supposedly show what no other media outlet will. So instead of showing us the West Bank or Gaza, or south Lebanon, or Sinai Peninsula, or Golan Heights or Syria or Jordan. Instead of even trying to show us the “Arab” perspective, he runs off to South Africa?!? Why not go to Jasper, TX? LOL This is all part of his anti-Muslim tour. Beck doesn’t care about Darfur because those are Muslims getting killed. As far as he‘s concerned those are a few more Muslims we don’t have to kill during WW3, aka Armagheddon. The same reason he doesn‘t care about presenting a truthful picture of what’s happening in Israel or Egypt or Libya or anywhere in the ME. Heaven forbid that something good be said about a Muslim or Islam.

Just to stir the pot a little though, despite what we may think of Chavez, he was freely elected. At least that’s my understanding, please correct me if I’m wrong. Certainly his britches have grown since then and I know he’s been accused of at least trying to influence elections by intimidating and bribing – the same sort of stuff the Dems do with unions. No idea how truly free elections are at this point. I don’t doubt this at all. My point though is the Venezualians brought this on themselves. They were perfectly happy to sell their souls for national oil revenues.

@SacredHonor1776, A very good point. And that actually is precisely my point. The same sort of people that elected Hitler are the same types that elected Chavez and the same types rioting in England and the same types that elected Obama right here at home.

But Islam is the anti-Christ gosh darnit! Some biblical scholars believe that gay marriage was the tipping point for Soddom and Gomorrah that led to its destruction, which I don’t doubt at all. The USA is oh about 1,000x more likely to universalize gay marriage than any country in the Islamic world. Millions of abortions are performed in the US annually. Over 40% of the children born in the USA are out of wedlock. On the international stage (aka UN) Muslims and Mormons have joined together and are doing far more to defend the family than the Christians. I’m just saying… in the grand scheme of things Muslims could be one of our (meaning conservatives) biggest allies.

@Michael61, Nice try, but NO, that’s a big fat lie. This is another one of those anti-Muslim myths. The conflict is entirely ethnic. A small number of Christians have been killed in the south, and they were killed along with the black Muslims. The vast majority killed are Muslim. It is indiscriminate. Also note, in the north there are Christians who are ethnic “Arabs.” They are a minority, just as Christians in the south are a minority, but they exist and are aligned with the northern factions. Africa as a continent is wrought with violence by both Muslims and Christians. I‘m sure you’ve heard about Rwanda right? Yeah, Christians did that, to other Christians. In fact the only involvement the tiny Muslim population had in that multi-month million man/woman/child massacre was to give shelter and help hide some of the Tutsis being targeted. Hopefully the truth doesn’t burst your bubble too bad.

Don’t make me puke. ME Muslims are not conservative by any stretch of the imagination. They are totalitarian. Muslims don’t favor abortions, but it’s not because they care about children, but because in the modern world they propagate by the womb more than by the sword (the latter is happening in Darfur where Muslim Arabization is the goal). A man can have up to four wives and he can put away any one of his wives or all of them at whim, so propagation of Islam by the womb is highly effective.

How much do Muslims care about children? Well, they see no problem in raping, mutilating, and enslaving Christian children. They use Muslim children as human shields and suicide bombers in their jihad wars. They teach their five-year olds to hate infidels and pigs. They savagely rape Muslim children too. Read about what happened to Chinese children in Indonesia and is still happening to Christian and black African Muslim children in Darfur (at the hands of Arab Muslims).

Furthermore, ALL other media outlets are telling the story from the “Palestinian” perspective so what in hell are you talking about? The whole idea is to tell the perspective from the Israeli point of view, one which virtually all media outlets selectively choose to ignore ~ if bombs are flying from Lebanon, Gaza, Golan Heights, Syria, and Jordan, doesn’t Israel have a right and a responsibility to protect her citizens?

If all American Liberals moved to say New Jersey, and over the next 6 decades folks from the surrounding states routinely lobbed rockets at them, would the Left be justified in firing back? No? 1. The violence in Darfur is predominantly Arab Muslim on Black Muslim. That’s what I said. Again, don’t put words in my mouth.
      2. The Rwanda genocide was ethnic cleansing with a political, not a religious end. The Hutu elite also murdered thousands of ordinary Hutu civilians who were against the genocide. That has not happened in Darfur. Your precious Arabs want to Islamize Black Muslims, who are often “nominal Muslims” and are therefore more inclined to espouse black nationalism and/or neocommunism over Islamofascism. Thus, the Darfur ethnic cleansing by Arab Muslims has an Islamist component. goal.http://www.observer.ug/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14824&Itemid=59

      4. There is no such thing as “Christian European nations.” European nations are secular, which is why Islamists have been able to destabilize them from within. @Kryptonite, You have an absolute double standard, and that‘s really all I’m trying to bring out, and I’ve suceeded. When it comes to Islam you are plain and simple an anti-Muslim bigot. You attack something you have no first-hand knowledge of. When someone who does have first-hand knowledge says you’re wrong, you call names and reference silly unreputable internet sources from people like yourself who also don’t have any first-hand knowledge. When violence involves Muslims, you blame it on Islam, when it involves Christians, oh, well, it can’t possibly have anything to do with Christianity. You’re even so arrogant and self-righteous that you say those people aren’t “real” Christians.

A few comments regarding each of your points.

      1) No evidence violence in Darfur has anything to do with Islam. Only racial/ethnic. Show me a first-hand source with evidence to the contrary. A first-hand source is people on the ground, not people with an agenda. All organizations on the ground (like Amnesty International) say it’s purely ethnic. That source you just provided is a news article from Uganda. What is Uganda? Uganda is a CHRISTIAN country in Africa with a minority Muslim population that doesn’t even share a border with Sudan. Uganda is also known for discrimination against, you guessed it, Muslims.

      @kryptonite,

      2) I completely agree with you that religion had nothing to do with Rwanda, and that’s my point. If the tables were flipped you would say this has something to do with Christianity. In a superficial way there were in some cases religious differences between the Hutu and Tutsi though, but this was simply ethnic. Another point I made though, which you didn’t acknowledge at all, is the fact that Muslims were giving shelter to the Tutsi victims. They risked their own lives (and some were caught and killed as a result) to help the Tutsi. Pretty strong argument against your way of thinking.

      3) It‘s obvious you don’t give a darn about anything good Muslims are doing, that doesn’t fit with your agenda of hate. I‘m sure you’re anti-Mormon too. I just want to point out your hypocritic statements about multiple wifes though. Polygamy is biblical from the earliest times in the Old Testament. Considered perhaps the most righteous of all was Abraham, a polygamist. Numerous others as well, such a David, Moses, etc., to name just two. In Christendom polygamy is not regarded a sin, it is cultural.

      4) With the exception of the western created and preserved monarchies, almost all “muslim” nations are secular as well. Exceptions, as you point out, are places like Iran. One thing you fail to recognize is the regime in Iran isn’t popular among the people, but what can they do? And also, we, the United States, are largely responsible for putting it in

      @Kryptonite,

      5) By your rhetoric you sure seem to want to murder in the name of Christ. You want to eradicate and make war with Muslims simply because they’re Muslim. During any of the many wars the US has been involved with did Christians ever pray for victory? Have statement like “God be with us” or “God bless us” ever been made? Almost all the so-called “Islamist” violence in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world is Muslim on Muslim. It doesn’t have anything to do with Islam, it has to do with power and freedom. But the people involved are still Muslim. They still pray and they praise God for victories.

Read some of these quotes from our founding fathers.

      http://www.aproundtable.org/tps30info/beliefs.html

And these are just a few examples. There are countless examples of very religiously-polarized speech from basically all of our founders. Now, from an outsider thousands of miles away that knows nothing about Chrisitanity or the people on the ground, it’s easy to see how they might misinterpret the American Revolution as being a Christian fundamentalist movement, which it wasn’t!

Take a snip from George Washington. He said, “I now make it my earnest prayer God would have you and the State over which you preside, in His holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government”

Subordination and odedience to government?!? Well, the USA must be a Ch

      1. Listen Bio, I don’ hate Muslims. I hate Islam and I vehemently oppose Islamists, i.e., those who TRULY follow Muhammad and his evil god. You’re right, not all Muslims live by the core principles of Islam. Some, especially women, are entrapped by it.

No, I don’t believe true Christians murder. Jesus was not a murderer; Muhammad was. Christians don’t blow themselves up or rape women and children. And you are offensively wrong when you equate the jihadist war cry “Allah is Greater” to anything Christians do. We may ask for God’s protection when we go to war, but we absolutely **do not** BLESS GOD when we have to kill. It is jihadists who PRAISE ALLAH when they murder. Once again, you reason like a Muslim.

If you can’t see the fundamental difference between Christianity and Islam, and you publicly condone and defend Islamists, then you are a propagandist for them. Islam is by far the most evil, repressive regime Satan ever inspired, and that’s saying a lot considering how nefarious communism is. Islam was originally spread by the sword because normal human beings cringed from it. As I said before, either you are a Muslim yourself, or you have been brainwashed. Either way, you refuse to see Islam as the root of the problem (although you do recognize how barbaric Muslim-on-Muslim violence is in the modern world).

      2. I didn’t discard the racial component in Rwanda. I said there was an Islamic element in the systematic killing of Black Muslims in Darfur. And frankly, because Arabization is practically akin to Islamization, I am compelled to allot more weight to the latter. Black Africa is extremely unstable, and Islamofascism vies for its soul, but even Black Muslims are heavily influenced by Black Nationalism and communism. Arab Islamists hate that fact and want to eradicate all traces of secularism in their camp.

      3. As for the ME, the last bastion of Western influence which was Lebanon — where Catholics were the majority — fell to Islamist onslaught. So did Iran, which is Persian, shortly after. Turkey, which is not Arab either but has a history, is next. Iraq, which is Arab, never will make it, thanks to Obama. And thanks to that traitor, the Arab Spring Islamists are gaining ground in secular Muslim countries. But even secular Muslim countries fail to meet modern Western standards of civilization, because Islam is regressive in nature and defines the principles upon which said countries develop (degree of regression is directly proportionate to practice of Islam). By contrast, America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and it is a haven for the oppressed (or was until Barack Hussein came along). That should tell you something, but unfortunately it won’t.

      4. You don’t know the Bible. Stop calling yourself a Christian, dude. It’s annoying. God brought only one woman to Adam. After Adam sinned, men began to practice polygamy (Gen. 4:19). Lamech took to himself two wives, and things went downhill from there. Women are the “weaker vessel”(“vessel” signifying “body” in other contexts), and if not for the grace of God, the natural (fallen/sinful) tendency is for men to oppress or abuse them. In Mark 10: 2-12 and elsewhere, Jesus explains how polygamy was never God’s plan for humankind. Jesus restored that perfect plan: Matt. 19:9; 1 Cor. 7:2-4; 1 Tim 3:2. Christian men are to cherish their wives, not beat them into submission and sexually abuse them: Eph. 5: 25, 33. If a Christian man does not love his wife like Christ sacrificially loved him, God will not answer his prayers: 1 Pet 3:7). ANYBODY who is in Christ knows that those who practice polygamy or adultery will go to hell: Mk. 10:19; 18; 1 Cor. 6: 9-10; 1 Thess. 4: 3-6; Heb. 13:4; Rev. 21:8; Rev. 22:15. Since you profess to be a Christian, why are you so ignorant of its foundational teachings?

These comments are getting too lengthy for Betsy’s taste. I will read your comments if you choose to reply, but I’m done.

What does any of this have to do with GB landing in Egypt? The headline reads as though Chavez somehow influenced the landing there. GB did not have to go through Venezuela to get to South Africa. What is really going on here? This is completely off the wall.

@kasey – so somehow you believe that a dictator from south America can contact, what I have to assume is a private plane, and tell it to land in a completely unrelated country so that it can clarify travel arrangements for a couple days down the road. Not a very likely scenario, but very GB like.
Funny how the headline has now been changed so the stopover in Egypt is not connected to the Chavez request for a detailed itinerary. Besides why would Chavez not request an itinerary?
This is just GB back at work on his conspiracy stuff.

“Mr. Sant…” you sound like an old disgruntled Liberal who can’t think of anything good and so you decide to take on Glenn! Well, good luck, as one of Glenn’s biggest fans, and one who also happily “stands for Israel, ” you’ve posted on the wrong site, as you won’t find much compassion or understanding of your words against Glenn. We know he stands for Israel and so do I, and it isn’t because Glenn has asked us to, but only because I believe in the great work Glenn is doing! Oh, by the way, he isn’t one of the “media darlings” you seem to be tying him to, but maybe that‘s because you don’t listen to him on a daily basis? In other words, “get a life!”

I saw Hannity who is Catholic in name only tear into a Catholic Priest who was in line with Catholic doctrine talking about being anti birth control. Then the second someone says anything about socialist Israel or if Iran denies the Holocaust he goes crazy! Who cares if they deny it, a lot of people deny a lot of things and say a lot of things. It’s not our problem, it’s Israel problem. He defends them with more passion than he defends the USA!!! But never will he say they are socialist or anything critical of Israel!!! He‘ll diss a move star that spouts liberal garbage but it’s hypocritical bc they are pandering to their Jewish bosses and so is he! Who is a conservative besides Ron Paul and his son Rand thats not a Zionist??? Heck, Glenn when he was having Republican Presidential candidates on his show everyone was asked where they stood on Israel!!! Lets please worry about America!!! Great Britton is our best friend in the world! AIPAC is a powerful lobby group that gets to every major conservative commentator!!!

In fact the entire Charlie Sheen thing went right over my head because i never watched one single episode of whatever sitcom he was in. It has come easy for me….i find my time filled then with plenty of other things to do….so ignoring Hollywood has come easy for me…may i suggest many of you all do the same….it is actually better than boycotting…because a boycott requires acknowledging the existence of something….in my life you could ask Jaylew what he thought about Hollywood…and I would reply “whats Hollywood?”
